Annual Mountain Getaway

  • 4 of 5

We returned for year 2 to celebrate two birthdays in our group. We had such a great time last year we wanted to come back. This cabin is perfect for couples, with plenty of room for everyone to hang, but enough privacy for everyone to have their own space. We love the balconies and deck configuration, as well as the multiple fireplaces/pits. We spent a lot of time down by Fightingtown Creek, which is right in the backyard. Andrew is quick to respond to questions and handles any slip ups professionally.

I do wish the appliances would get some much needed updates (fridge does not get cold enough, water filter does not work, washer/dryer have knobs missing) and the kitchen feels like its missing some essentials (there were only 3 or 4 mugs that we could find, the cookware is WARN).

We will likely return next year, knowing what to prepare for.

Awesome Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

A group of friends and I went to celebrate my birthday weekend. We couldnt have been happier with this cabin. It is very far back in the woods but it lets you escape reality. The cabin is beautiful and has so much room! Theres typical wear and tear but that doesnt stop you from enjoying your stay here. You also have a great view from any window at the back of the house. We will definitely be back!!

Great Cabin

  • 4 of 5

We loved this cabin and had a great time there and will plan on a return trip. There were 14 of us (8 adults and 8 children/babies) Here are some pros and cons of the cabin:

Cons: The deck and stairs aren't in great shape and the railing isn’t sturdy. The entire thing could use some repairs and updating. The leather furniture in the living room is worn with some tears. For a party of our size, there weren’t enough coffee cups or silverware. I recommend bringing paper plates and plastic silverware to make sure their is enough if you have a big group. The ice maker and fridge water dispenser weren't working. There is wifi, but it is very weak. We brought a roku but were unable to watch any movies b/c the internet wasn't strong enough. The owner did tell us ahead of time he could add additional bandwidth, but we didn't so it's possible it could be improved.

Pros: The cabin is very easy to get to and does not require an SUV. The 4 bedrooms are roomy and comfy. Even though there is a house right next door, in the middle of summer you can't see it at all with so many leaves on the trees. It feels very private. The creek access and outdoor area is great. There were two areas to easily access the water, one with a little bank that was perfect for the little ones to sit on and play in the water and play on the rocks. The owner provided some outdoor tailgating chairs to bring down to the creek which was appreciated. McCaysville is only a 10ish minute drive so it's easy to go grab any groceries you might need to restock. The kitchen was big and spacious. There is plenty of space for parking.

Misc: Those of us with AT&T did not have any cell service. Verizon service was spotty. We did see three snakes on the bank the first day so decided to move to the other bank area. Of course, this can happen anywhere, just be aware you should look for wildlife.

This is a great cabin and we plan to stay here again someday.

Great Getaway in an awesome area

  • 4 of 5

Great for a secluded getaway. The owner was very responsive in providing information about the cabin. Normal wear and tear for a rental but overall a great experience. Convenient for rafting trips on the Ocoee.

Amazing Cabin Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in the cabin along with my husband and 3 other couple's for our Cabin Couple's Retreat! The cabin was truly amazing and breathtaking! I never wanted to leave! The creek outside is so beautiful and you can hear it on the balcony. We all loved it and slept very well our 2 nights. We would definitely come again!!! ⛰❤
