We love to travel; been all over the country. We consider ourselves to have a keen sense of what works. Also, we often travel with our dog.
Rich purchased this condo in 2006
Harbert is one of those great destinations that once you find it, you hope stays a little bit secret. The restaurants, shops, beaches, culture and all around vibe are unmatched. The Lofts are nothing short of spectacular. Carved out of Michigan's oldest winery, the historic property is unlike anything we have ever experienced. Super design, quality and vision are all present.
A straight shot to the beach, two restaurants and a bakery, galleries, salon/spa, garden center and antique shops, all steps from your door. Many wineries are a 5-minute drive down country roads. A dog park is next door at Harbert Park which also has a playground, fishing pond, pavilion, and a baseball diamond. The Warren Dunes are less than 3 miles away. On site we have a fire pit, picnic pavilion, and a serene prairie with footpaths and relaxation areas.
(transfered from old guestbook system)We just spent a week at the Spectacular loft "Breeze". Our family vacation consisted of 6 people and 3 four legged house members. It couldn't of been a better vacation. The loft had all the comforts we could ask for.
Before our vacation was even over family members were already asking "same time and place next year"?
On a scale of 1-10 this vacation spot rated a 20! Very impressed.
Four of us ladies arrived to a warm welcome on a chalkboard sign. We utilized all the great travel brochures. The location was perfect for going to the beach, Swedish Bakery and vineyards. It was so clean and very nicely decorated! We enjoyed our time there. There were little touches that made us feel like a hotel but at "home". We definitely would stay there again.
Bigger than we expected and very clean! Nice quiet area. Will definitely consider this place for our next stay!
The size of the condo and the location were great! We loved the look and feel - it was one of the highlights of our girls trip!
We typically stay in New Buffalo, but wanted to venture slightly further north and are glad we did as we really enjoyed this location. The Breeze loft is a very cool VRBO option in an awesome development at the Vineyard Lofts. Very well thought out design and unique loft style property with high ceilings and nice finishings throughout. Also very clean and well maintained. You'll probably get a nicer bed at a decent hotel, but we thought the property as a whole was top notch. Overall, more of a zen like feel - quiet, relaxing, etc... Owners also very accessible and super nice people that we met during our stay.
In terms of location - walking distance to the beach and a few nearby restaurants. Great cycling route options as well. Very short drive to breweries, wineries, restaurants, Warren Dunes and Grand Mere. If you have your pet in tow, Grand Mere has an awesome dog friendly beach... if you park in the main parking lot, it's a bit of a hike to get to the beach over the dunes (do not follow signs / GPS off of Thorton Rd). There is a separate access if you stay on Grand Mere road and take it to the end. There is a gravel parking lot in a residential area (just keep to your left as you stay on Grand Mere) that gives you direct beach access. No amenities in terms of restrooms, etc, but awesome place for a beach walk with or without your four-legged friend. Also a dog park just north of the Vineyard Loft property that we did not check out...
Plenty of options in the area to fill your time based on interests while staying in a comfortable and unique loft setting!
My husband, our dog and I had a lovely 4 days at Breeze in Vineyard Lofts. The condo is beautiful, well furnished and maintained. The entire property is interesting and the landscaping is gorgeous. Rich and Eileen were helpful hosts. Several other reviewers have mentioned the trains--there are tracks immediately behind the property, and several trains pass each day, but we did not find them to be a problem--rather a source of interest and amusement. The kitchen is well equipped, everything is clean and the bathrooms are very nice. The mattress in the master is a little tired, but the entire condo is so well maintained, I am sure it will be refreshed soon. The property is very dog friendly--I have never been in a rental with dog bowls before! I highly recommend this property and would return in a heartbeat.
This property was really nice. My friends and I were so impressed! Everything we needed was here. Great stay and great owners who got back to you right away.
The Dog Park is less than 1 block away. MAK Salon/Spa is across the street. Art Galleries abound throughout the area. Wine Tasting in wine country is just minutes away. Lake Michigan and Harbert Beach is less than one mile and The Warren Dunes State Park is a very short 3 mile drive. Harbert Park features a baseball diamond, fishing pond, pavilion and brand new playground all right next door. Access the park by using the Vineyard Lofts walking path to reach Harbert Park and Dog Park. Walk to Cafe Gulistan Restaurant right next door or Luisa's Cafe and the famous Harbert Swedish Bakery are across the street. Four Winds Casino is a 10 minute drive which also houses The Hard Rock Café. You'll find live music at Hard Rock nightly, as well as Headlining acts in Four Wind's Silver Creek Event Center.
