Most enjoyable stay perfect location for us ,very good area . JON was most accommodating, reserving parking, arrival, and key pickup so promptly.
Edge of Forest met all of our needs .
Thank you Catherine Cape Town
Having our own cottage was great. It's only 1.5 from a main shopping street (including a grocery store), and ~5 blocks from a tube station. The rooms and beds are small (double beds), but all the facilities were there (including a washing machine!). The host was incredibly helpful. Wifi was good. For the price, it was a great deal.
John is a great guy and we nicknamed his cottage our diamond in the rough. 5 minute walk to train station. Pub on the corner and shops were 2 blocks away. We didn't want to leave and would definitely stay here again. Thanks again John for letting me, Amy, and our daughter stay at your place. It was a privilege and an experience we will never forget.
Just got back to the US after spending 11 nights here. Five minutes walk from the Central Line tube station means quick and easy access to Central London (approx 30 mins). A terrific pub at the end of the street (1 min walk), and many good restaurants and a large supermarket are within 5 minutes' walk.
The cottage is cute and we were glad of the washer, although a dryer would have been more convenient than hanging laundry in the conservatory. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had what we needed, and the TV and wifi kept us in touch with the world outside. We had a very enjoyable stay.
We (3 people) stayed 7 nights in this cottage and enjoyed having two bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped so we could prepare our meals with ease. On the way to the station is a well stocked supermarket (Waitrose). Buckhurst Hill is located in zone 5 of central line. So buy an Oyster card and start your trip into London after 9:30 a.m.!!
The communication with the owner was perfect. He always responded very quickly to my requests. We had a good WiFi connection.
The pub around the corner has a beer garden which is behind the plot of the cottage. The noise coming from there was moderate.
The only thing we missed was a hair dryer, but all in all we had a pleasant stay.
Perfect base for a holiday in London.Good transport access to Stratford, The City and West End.
The local area features Epping Forest, local traditional pub. Waitrose supermarket, library, ATM, shops and restaurants, playground.
