As a family of ten (age range was 13-75), wanting to be close to a family wedding and on a lake, this property worked. We did not have to call on the owner one time. The kitchen is well stocked (has a wonderful stovetop) and having three bathrooms stocked with thick, fluffy, clean towels was fantastic with 10 people having to get ready for a wedding. The hot tub was a bonus. One criticism would be the mattresses. Most of us did not sleep well due to the poor conditions of the mattresses and left with aching backs. Otherwise, it was a perfect fit. We were a bit disappointed that we could not put our boat in the water. Property is well maintained and as described.
Great location. The two bedroom air conditioners (and ceiling fans) were so needed this year - kept us comfortable. We've rented 5 times in the hideout before, and this rental topped them all! Thank you!
Overall the house was nice and in a convenient location , there were several minor issues with the house broken front door screen several wasp and hornet nests, broken screen door off the living room and the main floor bedroom has no AC but overall the house has a very nice layout and served our purposes well. I would recommend the house and property to others who are interested as the parking area has enough room for 4 to 5 vehicles I would recommend that the bottom of the stair case leading from the porch to the yard be fixed as it is very unsteady when stepping onto the ground. aWe loved the hot tub and yard as it is private and very well kept.
This was our first visit to the hideout, and I was thoroughly impressed. I didn't anticipate the grounds to be as spread out and grand and it got even better when we arrived at the house.
My boyfriend and I along with another couple wanted a few days away to go camping, but decided to take the "luxury" route and rent a house at a lake. We ended up right here in the hideout just from searching on Vrbo.
The pictures definitely don't to the house justice. From the moment we pulled up, our expectations were definitely exceeded. A typical lake house, but what made it extra special for us was the amount of space and the supplies provided in the kitchen. The home had everything we needed to prepare all of our meals, 3 full bathrooms( which are all redone), 2 bedrooms upstairs( that have air conditioning ), a wet bar in the basement with easy access to backyard & hot tub, and a grand deck that is accessible from many doors on the first floor. Another great feature of the home is its proximity to the community house and it's a 3 minute walk to a small boating launch , which was perfect for us with our kayaks. Overall the home was clean and tidy, there were some scuffs and stains around the house, but it's a "lived in" home.
I definitely recommend this house to a group that is looking for some low key, relaxing fun with some great amenities for a reasonable price!
We plan on coming back next summer.
We were there for 3 nights during which time we were looking at real estate in the area. The Hideout is very nice with a lot to do by all members of the family. This particular house is close to all the amenities available. The house is big with a huge kitchen and living area. Off the master bedroom is a small deck which was great for morning coffee. The hot tub was great to relax in at the end of a busy day. I would recommend this place to others.
Upon arrival house was clean and ready to go. There happened to be a few more things in the kitchen than anticipated (seasonings, saran wrap, etc) that was more than welcome. The kitchen is well laid out and works well for group cooking efforts. In terms of seating/relaxing, the house is very spacious and comfortable with a huge deck and plenty of seating as well as comfortable seating in the living room. The lower level is more utilitarian, but very functional with a private bedroom, bathroom, and a pool table. Over all, very nice.
A few drawbacks: the upper bunk bed in the upstairs bedroom is, simply put, not safe for use. The mattress is soft and flexible (which is fine, all things being equal) and is supported by only three or four slats, none of which support the lower part of the bed and only partially support the upper part. This is a safety issue that should be addressed--after a quick inspection, I refused to let my kids up there, much to their disappointment. Beyond a bit of wear and tear, scuffs and the occasional cracked trim piece, the only other stand out issue is that the hot tub cover is in need of replacement---it is water logged and, therefore, very heavy to the point that it is very difficult for one person to get it back in place (it also will not insulate at all well, owing to this).
