This fabulous apartment is in a great location on 8th Ave at 18th St, in the heart of Chelsea, perfect to navigate the city from. The building is only 4 stories and the apartment is a short 2 stairways up. The city outside is at your door step but the loft is an extremely quiet and peaceful refuge from the fast pace of the city. For romance and relaxation there is a slate covered wood burning fireplace, a beautiful marble bath with two person soaking tub, and separate floating glass shower.
For entertaining there is a large gourmet kitchen. There is some outside space too - a small Juliette balcony off the bedroom overlooking a quiet courtyard below. The bedroom is the ultimate in comfort and offers plenty of custom wood closets. The apartment has air-conditioning through out for those warm summer city nights.
Chelsea is an extremely desirable and safe neighborhood that offers great shopping, Manhattan's hippest gallery district, excellent restaurants, cinemas, gyms and gourmet food markets. Extremely convenient to all of New York City's best - and within walking distance of the High Line, Union Square, the Village, Meatpacking District and SoHo, Broadway, museums, galleries, and night clubs. The apartment is also very close to Chelsea Market (9th ave and 15th St), Whole Foods, Trader Joe's. Chelsea Wine Cellar on 7th Ave and 21st St has a great wine selection.
Subways within two blocks radius include the A, C, E, 1, 9 and L, and cabs are always available outside the front door.

I've enjoyed a diversified life with careers in Environmental Science, entertainment, real estate and design. I live in New York but grew up in Canada and Bermuda, two wildly different climes! When it comes to property I tend to prefer the extremes....extreme country, or extreme city, and that's what I love about NYC. You can't get more city that this!
Susanna Mitchell purchased this condo in 1998
It is an oasis in the city. A perfect location near to all transportation links. It's spacious (as NYC apartments go) and has a quiet bedroom with Juliette balcony in the back. The living area and kitchen are well furnished and in the winter, the wood burning fireplace is an added bonus.
'The location can't be beat!' Quiet bedroom in the back. Small building with only 3 other full time residents. Gorgeous fireplace and wonderful energy. Within walking distance of the High Line, Union Square, the Village, Meatpacking District and SoHo. etc. The apartment is very close to Chelsea Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's. Chelsea Wine Cellar on 7th Ave and 21st St has a great wine selection.
Perfect location for a week in NYC!! My daughter was taking a class at FIT so this was walking distance to the school and a great place for walking to most sights. So close to the Highline!! Lots of restaurants and modern conveniences nearby!! Would stay here again.
We returned from a 4 night stay this past Sunday. This property exceeded our expectations. By NYC standards, the apartment was very roomy and everything was in great shape. The location was really convenient to all the places we wanted to see. Subway was close by as well. Having washer/dryer in the unit was a nice bonus.
Suzanna was really good to work with - very responsive and easy to reach. We would definitely stay here again!
We just came back from NYC ! We spent 3 nights there.
The apartment was exactly what we were looking for ! Like on the pictures !
We were 2 adults and 2 kids (8&9 years old).
The communication with the owner was really easy, she answered all my questions, in a really short time ! She gave us good advices (where to park our car , restaurants ...)
When we arrived in Manhattan we text her and she informed the cleaning lady that we would be there in a short time,
The lady helped us with the luggages, gave us information on subway station,
We had the apartment earlier as it was ready !
The property itself is really clean, plenty of space, quiet bedroom at the back, great kitchen, and nice decoration !
Subway stations are 3 and 5 minutes by walk, and it takes you uptown and downtown in few stops only !
Down the apartment you have grocery stores and nice restaurants ( Montmartre french restaurant next door is really good, and I know what I'm talking about...I'm french )
I would definetly go back there for my next trip !
Great location, great space, nice, clean comfortable, roomy. Lots of space to unpack into. Communication was quick and easy, the bed was comfy and the covers were warm. Love using the fireplace. Although we only live across the river in Jersey this was such a wonderful convenience when we needed to be in the city for a weekend. I would definitely stay here again it was well worth it.
We stayed in this beautiful apartment for a quick visit in December, and were beyond satisfied from the beginning to end. To start, the communication was great while booking. All of our questions were answered and the process was so easy. We took an early flight and were able to store our luggage (we pack very heavy) while the apartment was being cleaned. And it was very clean, every detail was attended to. We just couldn't believe how perfect this place was. The storage was amazing and we were able unpack and organize everything, and really feel at home. We kept waiting for the catch. The next morning I was sure I was going to find it taking a shower...nope, that was perfect too.
The pictures almost do this apartment justice. It is much better in person. Many places in NYC have pictures that make the space look more roomy, MUCH more roomy. Not this one, I believe it is even roomier than the pictures. LOVED being able to look out the large windows in the living room and seeing the locals doing their thing. The bedroom is in the back, so there is NO noise. The bed is very comfortable and there was a large closet and night stands. The kitchen has everything, even a dishwasher! Also, the convenience of a washer and dryer in the apartment saved us so much time and we were able to return home with clean clothes!
Best part though, is the location. We come here about 2 times a year, and this is exactly where we end up walking around. We couldn't believe the apartment was right in our favorite part of town! Subways were right there as well.
On the last day the manager called us to thank us for our stay and helped us with deciding our service back to the airport. The owner and manager were so helpful and nice. All in all, a perfect visit, even though it rained and snowed the whole time :)
We have stayed all over the city in many rentals and this is the best! We will have to start planning our next trip soon, because THIS is where we want to stay.
We stayed at the Chelsea property in late October 2014 for 6 nights and could not have been happier. All aspects of our initial inquiry, the booking, making payment, access to the property and advice was first rate.
The apartment itself was as promised and in fact better than the photos showed. The kitchen is fully equipped with EVERYTHING you would ever need for a stay. My partner was keen to cook in one night, but why would you with all of New York right outside the door.
The bed and pillows are all fine and because the bedroom is at the rear of the apartment, it’s very quite. The bath tub is fantastic and was frequented by my tied body after long days exploring New York. Having a washing machine and dryer in the apartment was also a great benefit. Internet access was an important feature for us and it was reliable and fast. There is also plenty of storage cupboards in the apartment which allowed us to unpack and not live out of our suitcases.
Right outside the front door you have restaurants, cafes, supermarket and of course shopping. Importantly for us was the easy access to the Subway which consistently allowed us to move around New York quickly. We found the Subway safe both at night and during the day, as well as the streets in general around Chelsea.
A big thank you also for allowing us to keep our luggage at the apartment for a few hours after check out. This allowed us to squeeze a few more shopping hours in before we departed back to Australia.
Thank you for having us stay and we absolutely recommend the apartment to anyone travelling to New York.
Building is on 8th Ave close to 18th Street
