There is a private and secure shared lawned garden with guests of Prospect Barn at the rear of the property for relaxing and enjoying the views over Wensleydale or for al-fresco dining on those warmer evenings – BBQ and garden furniture all being part of the inclusive package

For the more adventurous walks or cycling start directly from the door across the Dale and beyond and for those looking for a more relaxing break the location proves an ideal midpoint base for exploring the Dales by car

West Witton enjoys the benefit of a traditional village shop, award winning pub (Fox & Hounds) serving real ales and Dales grub whilst boasting an award winning fish restaurant (The Wensleydale Heifer) to complete the self-catering package and lets not forget the weekly visit of the mobile Fish & Chip van!

Local attractions include Aysgarth Falls, location for the Kevin Costner Robin Hood movie, Bolton Castle recently featured on TV in ‘The Dales’ fronted by Ed Edmundson and the Wensleydale Railway heritage line running from Redmire to Leeming Bar with the occasional steam train rattling the rails!

                                                            We had an excellent stay in this lovely property. The house is well equipped with a cosy farmhouse kitchen.

                                                            There are some good walks right from the door and we will definitely be tempted back to sample more.

                                                            We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. The kitchen was beautiful and the cookies were delicious. The house was very clean with wonderful views of the Yorkshire Dales. The parking was a little difficult if you are traveling in an SUV or Van as there is an adjacent cottage that shares the same driveway. We needed to arrange with our neighbors the parking logistics since our van took up most of the driveway. Although you can park on the street, the road is very narrow and makes it difficult for other cars to pass. The nearest town for shopping is about 4 miles away. There are two lovely pubs within walking distance.

                                                            We had a great time at Prospect Farm House. The house is very spacious and extremely clean. It's easy to spend a whole day in the house with its beautiful views and pretty garden. The Fox&Hounds pub across the road is great and the Heffer resteraunt superb. We walked from the house to Castle Bolton across the stepping stones over the Ure which was about 8 kilometers. The kids loved the Forbidden Corner which is ten minutes drive away. Thanks for letting us stay in this fantastic place.
