A solid fuel stove creates a warm ambience for families, couples or a group of friends whilst chilling in the smaller of the two reception lounge rooms, with oil fired central heating throughout the property to ensure a cosy and comfortable atmosphere is maintained throughout your stay
There is a private and secure shared lawned garden with guests of Prospect Barn at the rear of the property for relaxing and enjoying the views over Wensleydale or for al-fresco dining on those warmer evenings – BBQ and garden furniture all being part of the inclusive package
For the more adventurous walks or cycling start directly from the door across the Dale and beyond and for those looking for a more relaxing break the location proves an ideal midpoint base for exploring the Dales by car
West Witton enjoys the benefit of a traditional village shop, award winning pub (Fox & Hounds) serving real ales and Dales grub whilst boasting an award winning fish restaurant (The Wensleydale Heifer) to complete the self-catering package and lets not forget the weekly visit of the mobile Fish & Chip van!
Local attractions include Aysgarth Falls, location for the Kevin Costner Robin Hood movie, Bolton Castle recently featured on TV in ‘The Dales’ fronted by Ed Edmundson and the Wensleydale Railway heritage line running from Redmire to Leeming Bar with the occasional steam train rattling the rails!

We were 4 couples who were looking for somewhere to go for new year.
The cottage is lovely. Great amenities and location for walks.
Good kitchen which was great for us aso we ate in a lot but also a country pub and nice restaurant within walking distance where you can go for drinks and food (we did both and both were great). Also pool table and great sky package for those rainy days.
Had an very small issue on second day and Mike the owner came round straight away to fix and very fast at responding to any other questions we had via email/text.
I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone for a winter or summer holiday (have a garden and BBQ that we couldn't utilise due to time of year).
Absolutely loved the cottage. It was spotlessly clean and when we had a minor blip with the heating it was dealt with very quickly on Christmas Day. The local area is breathtakingly beautiful. Thanks for the very generous Christmas Hamper. We will be back.
If I could have picked the house up (and the scenery) I would have brought it home. In such a good location layburn,Hawes, Bedale, northallaton etc. 2 large lounges great kitchen. The fish restaurant does the most amazing fish and chips. Take away as well.
Beautiful property and beautiful location.
The farm house was lovely and clean. The owners had left us tea and coffee and an assortment of biscuits. This was very welcomed after our long journey.
The property was within a good distance to a number of attractions. We also enjoyed hiking from the farm house. Leyburn is a short distance away. This had all the shops and amenities that we needed throughout our stay. There is also a village shop where we bought fresh rolls each day for our packed lunches. The owners were lovely and friendly as were all the people we met in the village.
Mike was very helpful when we were booking the holiday and responded to our enquiries in a swift and helpful manner.
I would highly recommend commend this accommodation and would book again.
