Our group of 12 guys on our yearly excursion to the mountains had a great time relaxing and using Kirk's cabin as our home base. Plenty of parking for our motorcycles up top. The gravel driveway was a challenge, but it did provide for some funny moments... no injuries!!!! Anyways, awesome place, plenty of space, very peaceful.... Thanks again Kirk...
We were a group of 10 adults and 9 kids. The cabin is very spacious and bedrooms were nice and clean. Master bath shower is especially nice. Kitchen is very well equipped, every thing we needed for cooking and serving was in the kitchen.
Kirk (owner), is very responsive and very prompt to answer questions on phone and email. Thanks Kirk !
Kids had a blast on the walking trails, which is winding down the hill, around the property, and along a small creek. Watch young kids, because some parts have slopes.
Fireplaces are good size with sufficiently stocked firewood and outside jacuzzi is perfect for relaxation.
My family and close friends had a wonderful time at this cabin! There were 9 adults and 11 kids, and this cabin was plenty of room for all of us! There was so much room for the kids to run and play outside and when we were inside, the kids had their own space in the game room upstairs. This gave the adults plenty of time to play games, sit in the hot tub, and enjoy the outdoor fire place. Each family took turns cooking for all 20 in the spacious kitchen that was supplied with all of the pots, pans, serving dishes and utensils that we needed. So many great memories were made on our trip and we'd LOVE to make this annual spring break tradition!
My family including 7 adults and 3 kids spent a long weekend here and we just loved the seclusion. You could hear the sound of the little creek from the deck area which was very relaxing. We had almost zero noise from the road and there is only one or two other homes off the gravel road so we never saw another car or person there besides ourselves. The house was built in two phases so the lay out is a little kooky but the kids had a blast running around; it was like a maze they had to figure out. Plenty of space with a lot of privacy. There was no noise in the bedrooms from the surrounding areas so sleeping in was easy! And best of all, no ladybugs! We've had that problem in quite a few other cabins. The only problem we had was the microwave was broken so we had to go to Wal-Mart and buy one to use while we were there but the cabin owner notified us of the problem before we got there and was trying to get it fixed but couldn't happen before we got there. Everything else worked out fine. The hot tub was the biggest hot tub I've ever seen in my life and was on it's own deck platform with a gorgeous view of the woods and stream. The grill was insane! The boys liked that. The cabin owner greeted us there when we arrived and was nice enough to fill up our wood bin for us on the deck. It was warm for February so we didn't use the indoor fireplace but used the outdoor one every afternoon and evening which was great. Bring some kindling; fire starting is no joke! They had two great bunkrooms for kids and 4 other adult bedrooms. And bathrooms everywhere! The cabin was stocked nicely but if you have toddlers, bring some paper or plastic plates and cups. They did have a crib and pack n play already there if you need it. They had Satellite TV for movie watching. And 2 washer/dryer sets. The road is gravel from the highway but we had no problems getting up to the cabin in a minivan and regular car. No 4 wheel drive needed. Didn't see any wild life but it was rainy our weekend. Guess that's about it. Thanks for a great weekend!
This cabin is marketed by the owner, who I suspect has ghostwritten all the rave reviews. When we booked the cabin, there was one negative reviewer who complained of being cheated of his deposit, but I see that review has now been dropped.
When you arrive you will find that wearing shoes in the cabin is not allowed. Trust me - if evidence of shoe wearing is found you will not see your deposit again. There are also notices of how much you will be charged if various things are damaged, even if they are in dilapidated condition like the pool cover.
This a place you want to avoid.
We spent Thanksgiving at this wonderful cabin this year and were so pleased with its location, design, and comfort! There were 17 of us and everyone had their own space. Would love to do it again. The owners were very friendly and easy to work with.
