About the property

5 bedrooms 3 full bathrooms 1 half bathroom, please contact Peter 4 rental info

Highland Manor is a luxury home in the country. This home rental in Dorset, Vermont is nestled within six acres of property and has magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. It is well worth the room rates of 200-300$ per bedroom nightly. For individual couples that want the whole house the rate is the weekly rate of 5500-6000 depending on the season. If renting more then one week the price goes down. IE. For two consecutive weeks price is 4000 per week. The larger the party the lower the rates go,..... to the minimum nightly room rate of 200$ each room... (800$),....but the Bunkroom is additional and depends on number of occupants but usually goes for 125$ nightly rate with two plus occupants. This makes the rate about 900-1000 nightly. It would be ideal for visitors to vacation for great Winter Skiing, the Vermont Summer Festival (six week horse/equestrian events). This year the most popular week of Christmas is scheduled a bit differently due to the holiday being on Monday. Therefore, the Christmas vacation week is from Dec. 21-28 and is now SOLD and UNAVAILABLE .... The week of New Years, however,...(from Dec. 28-Jan. 4 and is still available. I do have some flexibility for the New Years Week,.... and could book for Dec. 29 to and/or including some days all the way to Jan. 7. Sorry ...... BUT this time has a minimum of 5 days as the week always sells out. The basic premise is book early! The estate is 7-12 minutes from the Horse Shows and Events. It is also a prime location for fall foliage viewing and Apple Picking as well. The estate is located 11 minutes from Bromley Ski Mountain which is reputed to be the best Family Ski Mountain on the East Coast. Stratton Mountain is slightly further (about 10-15 min.). There is wonderful hiking right around the corner at the Ethel Pew Nature Conservancy as well as the nearby Equinox Preserve, the Appalachian Trail, and Long Trail and other assorted hikes. Also nearby is fine dining and the heavenly designer (Think Armani; Brooks Bros; Gucci; Tumi; J Crew; Michael Kors; Eddie Bauer; Ralph Lauren; Coach; GAP; Jockey; Pendleton; Theory; Kate Spade; New Balance; etc) Factory Outlets shopping in Manchester Vermont, a theatre at the Dorset playhouse and outdoor activities galore. The library has a wonderful wood burning fireplace, home with beautiful hardwood floors and a large, open kitchen make this home a warm place for families to spend quality time together. Pets are considered by special arrangement with the owner. The Pet Fees are 200$ per pet per week. Two pets for 325$.... with two pet maximum please. As well,....Property has parking for multiple vehicles plus the ability to accommodate horse trailers. Serene country setting, but drive down the road and you are in the center of historic Manchester. The house is fully furnished.

Fairy tale experience.

  • 5 of 5

Peter's house was absolutely beautiful. We stayed there through New Year with a large group of people. The house was absolutely gorgeous. Large spacious rooms, fire place, great kitchen space and formal dining. The owner met us when we arrived, welcomed us into his house and showed us around. He was always available if we needed anything. The property is so charming that it felt like we were in a winter wonderland.

Thank you, Peter, for your beautiful house and your hospitality!

Wonderful location and great getaway

  • 5 of 5

We came after Christmas and the house was still beautifully decorated, quiet, charming, and can easily fit large groups. The house was also perfect location, very close to all that Manchester has to offer while also being very convenient to Bromley. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the house!

Near hiking, cycling, shopping, restaurants.

  • 5 of 5

This charming Vermont home was just right -- near hiking and cycling but close to the restaurants and shopping in Manchester. The house easily handles larger groups. Very peaceful yet not far from the many attractions of southern Vermont.

Best house!

  • 5 of 5

Very pleasure experience for our ski vacation. Perfect location to the ski mountains and to the town of Manchester. They home was in great condition and we all had plenty of room. The homeowner, Peter, was easy to deal with and made everything comfortable for us.

We recommand this home to everyone! We also recommand the best breakfeast in Manchester called Up for Breakfeast on Main St!
