Tuscany at its best

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful property in the serenity of the Tuscan hills. Property owners are attentive to every detail. We would definitely return to this home over and over. We saw some of the wine harvest, cooked our own meals, and enjoyed the estate wines. Lovely experience.

FABULOUS!!!!

  • 5 of 5

It was perfect!!!! Anna's brother, Duccio, was our liaison! He made sure we were happy and perfect at all times. He even gave us a private tour of the winery on the property! Note the pool is not "right" outside of the house, but is a shared pool a bit down the road. That didn't matter to us since we filled our days with other activities!!!! It was perfect for our week under the Tuscan sun and really it was due to this amazing villa. Perfecto!!!

An oasis

  • 5 of 5

Completely lovely in every way. The views are spectacular, the proximity to Siena and areas both north and south is very convenient, and the house has every amenity. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, the house layout is spacious with room for multiple family members, the outdoor space is quite nicely manicured and Anna and Trullio (hosts) are gracious and helpful.

Trullio met us on the road when we arrived as we became a bit confused once on the property. Check in was efficient and the house is spotless. There is a large market about 10 minutes away and we ate at home every night. The pool is a very short drive away, so we did not go there, but it looked nice.

Each bedroom has a bathroom either en suite or adjacent, so our family had plenty of privacy. Hot water and pressure is abundant (a real luxury). The bathrooms are well equipped - each with a walk in shower - another luxury.

The laundry room is also quite spacious with room for drying clothes out of the way. We did several loads of laundry and it was very convenient.

There are public spaces on each floor and the ground and first floor salons are very comfortable.

The loggia with the view was our favorite space with lovely breezes.

We've let villas in Tuscany in several locations over the past 18 years, and this property is a standout. We will most definitely return.

Views that made you feel like you were in a painting.

  • 5 of 5

Tuillio and his wife Poala were wonderful. They explained the ins and outs of the house. The home is charming and had all the necessities to make our stay lovely. The views were spectacular! sitting and watching the sunset is something I will dream about in the future. If we have to opportunity to come back to Siena we would definitely stay again.

Better Than We Imagined!

  • 5 of 5

Our week in the Tuscan countryside started with a flight into Rome and and loading into a rented van for the six of us. Drive time to Villa was 2+45 from Rome Airport. We opted for WiFi in the van over GPS which was a home run. We used Google Maps on our iPhones to navigate the entire trip. Weather was perfect all week, temps hovered around 80 everyday. The Villa was better than expected in every way we could imagine. The home is spacious with spectacular views of the Tuscan countryside including an awesome view of Siena, particularly in the moonlit evenings. The town of Siena is about a 10-15 minute drive. It provides every convenience... groceries, shopping, etc. There is an option to have a chef cook meals, which we did not take advantage of, so we could dine in the many restaurants Siena has to offer. We did however take a cooking class which was one of the highlights of our trip.

The Villa was built over 300 years ago and is beautifully maintained by the owners Tullio and Paola. Both owners are fluent in English and greeted us when we arrived. They spent over an hour with us answering our questions and giving us travel tips. They are kind, hospitable and thorough. The Villa sits on 140 acres of olive trees and grape vines. The owners are actively producing wine and were happy to give us a tour. There is a pool, however, it is about 5 minutes by car or 10-15 minute walk on a gravel road. We spent several evenings sitting on lounge chairs enjoying the incredible views and drinking wine. The house is equipped with all of the amenities needed for a vacation in a home away from home.

To say this villa, the owners, and the estate are great......is such an understatement!!! I am a professional Interior Designer, and as such, I like my surroundings to be in good to great taste: original art, beautiful wood beams, beautiful surroundings, etc.! There were 4 of us, all are extremely well traveled, and all are used to staying in high end hotels wherever we stay. ............well!, not only did our group get all of that and more, this villa and the family who run it were so far beyond anything we ever hoped for..! The views from the villa are breathtaking, we never wanted to leave the covered veranda ( pictured here).....sitting there with wine and cheese, and a gorgeous view, became our favorite pastime. !! Incredible!!....Of course, we took day trips, and we ate at wonderful Italian restaurants, but, our favorite place to eat was the villa! We grilled meat, seafood, vegetables, and then went to the veranda with wine and dinner, and ate and enjoyed the company of each other. There are several villas on the property, they are located far enough away from each other, so you have all the privacy you need or want.

A wonderful family run this estate so there was ALWAYS someone to help, weather with meeting us and helping with directions, or for whatever we needed. Each person has a different part... they run it like a well oiled machine!!! When we arrived, there was a wine rack stocked with wonderful wines, these wines come from their own vineyards and are extremely delicious and very well priced. Tullio had the wine rack stacked full when we arrived, we saved the bottles and the day we left Tullio came over to the villa, checked out how many bottles we drank.......(and no,I am not going say how many bottles 4 women were able to drink in 6 days!! ).....we wrote a check for what we drank, and wanted so very much to bring some of their great tasting, well priced wines back with us!!!

One thing that you really need to pay attention to: The villa is about 5+min.out of Sienna, it is a villa in the country. You will need to either take a cab to and from town, and cabs are plentiful!.... or rent a car to get around the area. We rented a car, and took some day trips to other towns, Orvieto, etc. we had planned on doing more driving, but only one of us felt comfortable driving on the highways, and the narrow town roads.

Bottom Line: This villa, the wine, and the owners were far beyond expectations!! We can't wait to go back!!
