About Fernando

Along with seeking a good business opportunity, I felt that it was the right time to invest in real estate that would not only provide a return, but would also allow itself to be a spectacular setting for family and friends to also enjoy themselves in Whistler, BC - one of the most beautiful locations on earth!

Fernando purchased this house in 2003

Why Fernando chose Whistler

The location is less than two blocks from the northwest corner of the main Whistler Village. This makes for a very short walk to the centre (center for our American friends) of the village or less than a 1 minute drive. Sitting on its own 3/4 of an acre parcel of land, gives the property both a very nice and spacious back yard for your outdoor spring and summer activities along with plenty of room for up to 12 vehicles to park free of charge.

What makes this house unique

Your own private bedroom (and bathroom) mixed in with the nicest possible common area amenities to share with family, friends or co-workers that any home could possibly offer.

Unforgettable Long Weekend at Lorimer Ridge Lodge

Could not have asked for better accommodation for our group of 17. The location is a short walk away from Whistler Golf Course and Whistler Village.

The home is phenomenal and included more amenities than we expected.

On our way up, Fernando was easy to reach and provided us with all information required. We ran into a little bit of a snag in that the door code wasn't working properly, so I called Fernando and he immediately answered and provided us with a working code.

Once inside we were overwhelmed at how great the place was. Everything was clean and orderly and we could not wait to set off our weekend.

The next morning, the housekeeper, Andreann, greeted us and was extremely kind and friendly. She ensured we could contact her if we had any problems or needs.

The hot tub was working perfectly, the pool table was in great condition, all bedrooms, bathrooms and both kitchens were spotless.

We can't thank you enough for allowing us to stay in your lovely home.

From all the boys at 50 Cups of Coffee, we appreciate you providing us with an amazing place to stay over May long.

Fernando's home is perfect for large groups. The amenities and location are great, just a short walk across the street to the village. The home is exactly as described and shown in the photos and was in excellent condition. The place had everything we needed and Fernando was accommodating and responded quickly to our inquiries leading up to the trip. The housekeeper was also an excellent hostess and made us feel immediately welcomed - she even helped us get our truck unstuck from the driveway as we were leaving! We look forward to staying here again in the future. Thanks for everything!

Annual trip!

We've stayed at Lorimer Ridge Lodge 4 years in a row and have already booked our trip for next year. We get a big group of friends together and go and it's always a great trip. The house is wonderful for big groups, it's a short walk to the village, and the owner is always a pleasure to work with. The house really has everything you need and our group starts getting excited for the next year as soon as the trip ends! We hope to keep this annual trip going for many years to come!

Excellent amenities!

My group had an excellent stay at Lorimer Ridge. The property is well-maintained and has top-notch amenities including a spacious hot tub, sauna, billiards room, ski storage room, 2 gas grills, laundry room, updated kitchen, and new large TVs in the common rooms. We especially enjoyed the short walk to the village and the fact that every bedroom has its own bathroom. We found Fernando easy to work with and responsive to the needs of our group. Highly recommend!

Place keeps getting better!

I host my annually golf tournament in Whistler and have been staying at Lorimer Ridge Lodge for the past six years (at least) and I can say that the place just keeps better and better. New BBQ's that are hooked up to the gas pipe (no need to worry about having to replace a gas tank) and brand new Wolf Sub Zero kitchen appliances (stove, wall ovens and fridge) are the improvements that I noticed this past August. I have already reserved for next August!

Great house- very poor management

We were very disappointed with our stay just over a year ago (this owner has changed the profile name of the listing so that negative reviews would be erased.). The house was not clean when we arrived, in fact the live in manager was downstairs drinking and playng pool with friends. The game room, sauna, and hot tub were all closed off for the first night ("it still needed to be cleaned") while they partied. Also, when contacting one of the owners- he was completely unhelpful and did nothing. Apparently the group before us trashed the place so the hot tub was down for the majority of our stay and we had multiple plumbing issues (toilets overflowing.). Beware- no refunds and guarantee of all rooms in house and amenities being available. Would not recommend based on very bad experience with management after dropping several thousand dollars into our stay. It's a shame- the house has a lot of potential. Former listing of this property was under Lorimer Ridge Lodge.

Owner's Response: The caretaker that was managing Lorimer Ridge Lodge (name has never been changed since we started advertising with VRBO in 2006) is no longer working for us. With that said, Kristi Marino is exaggerating the circumstances - her group arrived 2 ½ hours early - the second and third floors were prepared and the first floor was being completed at the time of her arrival. The games room, sauna and hot tub (all part of the first floor) were ready for the group's usage at their 4 pm check-in time. It is true that two toilets (of the 11 total toilets) did back up during their stay, a plumber was called to repair both the same day and did the repairs the same day. One toilet was not determined why it was backed up and the second was backed due to a tampon being flushed (it should be noted that this was a couple of days into this group's stay). It is true that we have a no refund policy this is aimed at eliminating cancellations. Any amenities that we advertise are always in proper working condition. Although rare, items due occasionally break down during guest stays we have a team of repair people in Whistler that are willing to go the extra mile and make repairs the same day. Kristi Marino wrote her review over 18 months after her stay. Why she took so long, I am not certain, but I do recall her not being satisfied after she had requested a refund and I pointed out to her that the home was ready for her group at the arrival time of 4 pm and that at least one of the two toilets were backed due to her group's usage noting that both were repaired the same day of her complaint. She became very unhappy when I denied her request for a refund as a basis for one did not exist.
