Strategically located in the heart of the historic district of Georgia’s first city, this immaculate property is surrounded by historic landmarks, countless restaurants, lounges, tours, museums and shopping. The interior of this fully furnished condominium was completely renovated in late 2007 when the historic Whitaker Place Building (circa 1890) was converted to eight high end residential condominiums on the upper two floors and retail space at street level.

Enter the private residential lobby and you’re an elevator ride from the excitement of Broughton Street to your own luxurious two bedroom condominium with sixteen foot ceilings, beautifully restored 100 year old hardwood floors, and tons of natural light from huge windows overlooking downtown Savannah. This unit offers great views of Broughton Street (Savannah’s Main Street), and Whitaker Street (one of Savannah's best Streets for reastaurants and nightlife). Just around the block, is Telfair Square (one of Savannah’s 24 historic squares, each named after a person or event important to the history of Savannah). Catch a sightseeing trolley in City Market (located on the same block), or walk two blocks to River Street for a day of fun-filled shopping. Ghost Tours, trendy boutiques, theaters, museums and local artists' galleries are all within walking distance. About The Owner

I grew up in New Paltz, New York, on the Hudson River halfway between New York City and Albany. I moved to Savannah in the Summer of 2002 when I accepted my position as Sales and Demonstration Pilot for Gulfstream Aerospace. I really enjoy living in the Historic District; there is no substitute for the history, scenery, dinning, and nightlife that downtown Savannah offers. In my spare time, I began renovating properties in the heart of Savannah's Downtown Historic District.

During my 14 year tenure at Gulfstream Aerospace, I have had the amazing good fortune to travel to over 100 countries; many of them repeatedly. I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels in almost every major city in the world. While staying in these amazing properties, I would always take notes on the décor and amenities I found most desirable. I have included many of these ideas in my property back here in Savannah, hoping to use my experience to provide amazing accommodations to the discerning traveler.

Today, I still live in Savannah with my wife Radka, our son John, and our two dogs, Jake and Mini.

Fabulous modern. condo!

My husband and I really enjoyed our week in Savannah at this condo. Very modern, spacious and close to everything. We walked everywhere downtown and spent one very pleasant day out on Tybee Island! This condo had a very comfortable, large bed. It actually has two like that but we only used the one bedroom. We loved both bathrooms and we always love a full size washer and dryer. Everything was perfect and Savannah is a must-see city. So friendly!

great apartment

The layout was terrific for our family of 5. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were perfect. The central location makes it VERY convenient to all the tourist areas. There is plenty of room for all our luggage AND the HiDEF TV was great.

As they state in the description, the apartment is on the busy Broughton Street and there are some popular bars near by. This causes late night, early morning noise from revelers.

The parking pass is a must as it means you can leave the car for days and not worry.

It would be a 5 star except for the load and unload is very inconvenient. We were rushed away by the PD for blocking traffic. Parking is free on the weekends and we did get up early on checkout day to get a spot on the street. We realized later that we could have pulled around the courner and sat to unload in the ally. I realize this can'r be in the discription as they don't own the ally, but I mention it as a hint.

My family and I had a terrific time at Mike's condo. The location is really better than we could have expected, within walking distance to everything downtown. The condo was very well equipped and the owner very responsive. Everything from the booking process to our leaving Savannah was exceptional. We will be back in touch for our next visit!

Beautiful downtown apartment (with attendant street noise)

This spacious apartment had plenty of room for the four of us: my wife and I in the master bedroom facing Broughton Street, my son in the living room (also facing Broughton), and my father in the back bedroom, which is windowless. There is a full kitchen stocked with glasses (plenty of wine glasses now!) plates, dishes, flatware, and pots; as well as a pantry with a full-size washer and dryer. The living room has two couches, though the larger of the two is not the white one shown in the pictures, but, instead, a slightly larger version of the brown one in the photographs.

This was our fourth visit to Savannah, and we chose this location in part to be downtown in the heart of things, within walking distance to the whole historic district. The apartment was clean and beautiful. I highly recommend Coffee Fox across the street for your morning java. So many great restaurants and sites nearby.

A few quibbles prevent me from giving 5 stars:

- Street noise. Obviously, I expected some in this downtown location. It wasn't mentioned prominently in the other comments, so I thought it might not be as bad as I feared. On Friday and Saturday nights, the noise was significant in the part of the apartment with windows facing Broughton. Cars, trucks, sirens, motorcycles, revelers. Sunday night was fine, no surprise. The back bedroom was effectively secluded from the noise.

- I was notified that I would receive information about entry on the day of our arrival, but when it hadn't arrived by early that afternoon, I called to make sure that it would be forthcoming. Penny, who answered the phone was very helpful and accommodating.

- Parking for one car at the Whitaker Street Public Ramp is included in the price of this apartment. We just happened to park there before we knew that we'd have access to a passcard to that site. It didn't work for us when we first tried to exit with it (the attendant said something to the effect that it needed to be re-synced; perhaps because we hadn't entered with it?). It worked fine thereafter.

- I've used AirBnB before, but not VRBO. I found the VRBO reservation process cumbersome and confusing. Also, I've never before had to sign and fax a damage waiver, as was required by this location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful condo. It is conveniently located in the historic section of Savannah and is within walking distance to the riverfront, city market and all the other sights. There are plenty of restaurants and places to grab a drink near by as well. We loved walking everywhere. The condo was very clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend staying at this great vacation home when visiting Savannah.
