About New York Ave LLC
This vacation cottage was orginally owned by my dearest beloved Aunt Sue and Uncle Perry. Every year they invited me for vacation. This was always and still is a cozy and peaceful place to call HOME away from home. The town is an old fishing village and the neighborhood is friendly, pet friendly too. I always looked forward to coming back each year just......... couldn't get enough of the breezy sea air and spectacular sunsets. The yard always reminded me of my very own private sanctuary. It backs up to natural wildlife preservation and offers shade and serenity. I have lots to do though with the yard and little by little I am planting shrubs and plan to plant a berm of Armalite along the backyard.
New York Ave LLC purchased this Cottage in 1975
Why New York Ave LLC chose Villas
Fortunately, for me this cozy home I enjoyed as a teenager, now enjoying many years later into my golden years. I love the sounds of seagulls and nature while having my morning coffee. Come evening by the firepit sipping wine and taking in the breeze off the water. Treat yourself just 100 steps away and enjoy the East coast magnificent sunsets.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our home brings back memories of family enjoying good times, great meals and beautiful sunsets. If you want peace and quiet, it's here, for excitement 15 min. drive to all the people, amusements, and nightlife. Yaay!!
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
If you want to rent this place, think it twice, read very carefully the terms and conditions, specially you have to leave the place sparkling clean and take a video, because the owner is going to charge you the cleaning fee ,even if leave it clean and take a video off everything, she will try to charge for broken counter or other staff, old pans that are already chipping and burned or missing blankets.
Also take bed sheets and towels you’re not going to find any.
I don’t recommend this rental.
All I can say there is always ONE poor review among many 4-5 star reviews.
It's unfortunate your experience was not what you expected nor was mine when I inspected after your stay. Perhaps you didn't understand the English language not born here or inexperienced at navigating vrbo owners site under AMENITIES. For sanitary reasons in the amenities I didn't check LINENS meaning: I DO NOT SUPPLY LINENS. Had you Read and asked questions there would be no complaint or disappointment. My lease explains house rules, the checklist that I PROVIDED is to assist guests and what I expect when returning my home, states as YOU FOUND it! I do all the inspections and fully know what is functioning, and clean etc. The lease states "to call me" within 2 hours of your arrival if there are discrepancies or issues. My lease is written from past experience with guests/tenants.
Some guests have put away dirty dishes pots/pans/frying pans, unfortunately, you overlooked putting away a burnt pan with food stuck to it and unswept floors
It's unacceptable not to mention to the homeowner what was broken in order to receive a full deposit, however, I do a thorough inspection and found the sliding closet door guide broken. Future guests would not appreciate staying where hairs are left behind on the floors and in the bathtub.
If you were more mindful of cleaning and follow the checklist provided we wouldn't be writing negative reviews
Great place for a short stay.
We stayed at the beach house during the middle of August. Upon our arrival, we found the house to be immaculately clean, and just as it was listed in the description. Mary was very responsive to our questions, and she even left some fresh basil for us. The neighborhood is very quiet and filled with older, quaint beach cottages. We had a very pleasant stay and would return.
Derrick, Thank you for the review. You left the house perfectly! Please come back again, try the Fall or Winter with areas many festive activities, Wine tasting, blues and jazz festivals.
Clean home close to the bay
The house was very clean and the bay was nice for walks and allowed dogs which was great. Not good for swimming, but Mary provided many options for closer "beach day" spots on the bay or a short drive to cape may (get there around 9 and parking is easy). Lots of breweries and wineries close by as well. Would recommend to anyone willing to drive to beach and other locations around the area.
Thank you for your review, Nick! I always welcome reviews especially when they help others in deciding whether my home and location is a fit for their vacation needs. Depending if you have a toddler the Bay is gentle, also FREE and allows your furry family on the beach however if you want to swim/surb the ocean is best.
We had a really relaxing stay close to Cape May. Villas is located only about 15 minutes or so from the beach. If you think that you will be able to go to spend the day at the beach here, you will be disappointed. It is very muddy and buggy. Great place to walk, but that's about it. Wonderful sunsets. The house is very comfortable and the owner is super!
Thank you, Lori! I'm so happy my house was comfy for you. Indeed the Bay beach is not always desirable depending on the month bug spray helps, however, the sunsets are spectacular and only 100 steps away. Not to mention it's one of few beaches that are still FREE to take your pouch/family for long walks.
ps, Thank you for the little touches left behind:)
I hope to see you again, repeat guests are discounted.
Perfect house for a quiet, relaxing beach getaway
I rented this house over the Fourth of July week, and could not have been happier. The house and furnishings are clean and new. A large backyard with plenty of shade that keeps it cool even on the hottest of days, and a short 100 steps to the beach that had the most amazing and beautiful sunsets. I really enjoyed taking my dog for walks on the beach, and there were many times when we had the entire beach to ourselves. A very quiet and relaxing little spot, with Cape May and Wildwood just a short drive away. The owner of the house was very accomodating, and checked in by text a few times just to make sure everything was satisfactory. I definitely will be staying here again and highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing escape to the beach.
OMG TY John for your generous review, I do try making improvements each time I am there. The comfy chair and leather couch was replaced by another comfy bamboo set to keep with the shore ambiance LOL.
Please, please, do return, especially great guests like yourself receive a discount and have an extra night on me. Example if you put in for two nights one is free, I'll redo quote.
Thank you so much John and best wishes,
Was nice but a lot of appliances didn't work or were misfunctioning and did not hear back from property owner. A lot of stuff was advertised on page that was not avalible. Not fire pit, no line for dog leashes. "Beach" was filled with dead horse shoe crabs. Okay for your price rent with your own risk.
You stated appliances did not work!! I noted that the ice maker did not work in the vrbo notes under AMENITIES. As a guest in a home to take it upon yourselves to DENT the door of my Stainless steel frig is NOT acceptable. Banging and causing a dent to try and release the ice was DESTRUCTIVE. You were very fortunate that to have received the Full Security Deposit.
The fire pit I noted was missing and there is infact a dog tie out, perhaps the tie line was removed however I have a cemented tie out suitable for dogs.
The The Lighthouse tours/museum, zoo, cinemas, winery tours, blues/jazz festivals, playground, restaurants and Wildwood's famous boardwalk.
