Property was very clean and modern.

Bed was comfortable.

Well placed for travel into York and close to good road links.

Whitby well worth a visit especially on a summers day.

Locally the White Swan pub was fantastic food and very welcoming.

Would certainly come back.

Perfectly located base to explore Yorkshire within a deceptively spacious and well finished property

  • 5 of 5

Following good communication from the owners regarding directions and key pickup we were pleasantly surprised by the size and location of the property. The conversion into a modern finish is done to a high standard and had everything required in the kitchen but the view overlooking the pond and the horses paddock is perfect for enjoying with a glass of wine, if the weather allows. Although you are close to the A64 its hardly noticeable inside and this allows for ideal travel distances to the Yorkshire Moors, Castle Howard, York City centre and much more. There are a few restaurants and pubs serving food within a ten minute drive and we would certainly recommend the Stone Trough Inn.

We'll hopefully be back again to continue exploring the surrounding areas and enjoy setting.

Easy access to picturesque villages.

  • 5 of 5

Accommodation was perfect; a sweet cosy cottage, situated next to a pond with a lovely rural aspect, outdoor seating area, quality interiors and a divinely comfortable bed.

We enjoyed the proximity to numerous villages and attractions and was enamoured with the market town of Helmsly, less than half an hour from the cottage, which also has it's own castle, walled gardens, shops and eateries as well as a mini brewery - what more could you want?

Also, Malton, Pickering and York are literally 'up the road'.

Must just add that the cottage grounds are now home to a newly built Shepherd's hut (almost ready to use) sat at the water's edge with decked seating/bbq area and top spec facilities including a bathroom with shower! You won't be disappointed if you book this little gem.

Owner Pauline is a lovely lady who greeted us warmly and made us feel at home straight away. Thanks for our stay, we loved it!
