Wake up to SWEEPING COASTAL VIEWS from your very own private, heated swimming pool, spacious lanai, dining room, master suite, guest rooms, and open-beamed living room. You'll LOVE this island home exclusively designed with its spectacular view in mind.
With updated island-style furnishings and ceiling fans, this three bedroom, two bath property is situated on one acre of lush vegetation for privacy and year-round tropical gems, including banana, papaya, grapefruit, mango, coconut, lime, avocado and pineapple fruit.
A tranquil setting at comfortable elevation, you will enjoy relaxing by the pool with a glass of wine from the temperature-controlled wine cooler or preparing a delicious cookout on the Weber Genesis grill. Lounging on the lanai's hammock or mixing up a Mai Tai at the teak bar are favorite pastimes.
Best of all, you will enjoy the panoramic views of our famous Kona sunsets EVERY NIGHT! You may never want to leave this island oasis.
Conveniently located near both the airport and downtown Kona, numerous beautiful sites are easily accessible: beaches with fantastic snorkeling are within 15 minutes, in addition to outdoor crafts and farmer's markets. The Four Seasons and State Park beaches are 15-20 minutes away. Across from Veterans Cemetery at Mile Marker 88/89 heading north from the airport is a gem.
Other Kohala Coast resort and shopping areas are within 30 minutes, including Waikaloa, with its famous restaurants and boutiques. The historic rancher's town of Waimea is a 45-minute drive; Hilo & Volcano National Park are about 2 hours away. The relatively new "Saddle Road" makes a much smoother ride to Hilo than in past years.
On a more practical note, Costco is less than 5 minutes from the house. Stock up the kitchen so you won't have to eat out every meal! They offer fresh local fish (Ahi, Ono, Mong Chong, etc--great on the grill), as well as traditionally-prepared island dishes you won't want to miss (e.g. poke').
You will find all the comforts of home at this "Kona Heavens" retreat. Escape to an amazing getaway that will provide fun and relaxation in a clean, spacious, well-equipped, quiet setting. There is something for the entire family!
The kids will love playing with all of the games we stock, and the HEATED pool with its rafts and floats will be a huge highlight. Adults, you will find everything you need to have an unforgettable stay!

You might think this is just another vacation home, but there's actually a story behind it...starting with our grandfather, "Pop's," love of the ocean. Although he lived simply as a commercial fisherman, he and his brother saved enough money along the way for us to invest in a family home in their memory. We chose Kona Heavens because of its amazing ocean views, proximity to beaches, cool evening breezes and amazing tropical vegetation. Our family has gathered here many times since. In the spirit of Pop's generosity, we wanted to share this oasis with others; so, we decided to make it available as a rental property! We hope you create as many wonderful memories during your stay as we have. This is truly a special place that Pop would have loved. We think of him every time we visit:)
The Owner purchased this house in 2005
Our family had visited the islands of Hawaii a few times prior to the purchase of this home, and we all agreed that the Big Island had some very unique characteristics we just couldn't ignore...and Kona was the perfect spot to blend them all together. We loved being in a private, well-kept neighborhood away from the hubbub of tourists, while being just minutes from attractions and shops to supply all of our needs. Because every home in this community was built on a 1-acre parcel, each thoughtfully landscaped several decades ago, the neighborhood alone makes for BEAUTIFUL MORNING WALKS, right out our front door. We have enjoyed many evenings on the 500+ sq foot lanai (patio) barbecuing fresh fish from the nearby harbor. We love going to local beaches to swim, snorkel, and scuba dive...with so many gorgeous options and hidden gems for all of these activities. Downtown Kona is just minutes away, and a lovely spot to stroll, window shop and dine out. The local flavor of upper mountain towns also offers a unique cultural (and coffee-plantation) experience. Not to mention the thrill of the Ironman Triathlon every Sept/Oct. The Big Island of Hawaii has nearly MOST micro-climates in the world, making for a much broader range of excursions than some of the smaller islands--from Volcanoes National Park to the Dramatic Cliffs of Waipio Valley, onto the Bucolic "Cowboy Country" of Waimea, and finally to the Rainforests of Hilo--with many hidden gems along the way: green and black sand beaches, waterfall hikes, and amazing local farmers' markets to name just a few!
We had compared prices to hotels in Kona...and this was a great deal given its spaciousness and flexibility. You can stock the fridge with all of your favorite foods (saving money dining in), enjoy the large living room to watch movies or play board games with your family, swim 24/7 in a private, heated/lighted pool, and enjoy tropical edibles right from the garden! Because this home was established as a rental property with the same local management company (even before we purchased it), we knew our guests' needs would be conveniently and immediately met during their stay, something we take great pride in. The home will be spotless when you arrive and thoroughly cleaned when you depart. It's the perfect blend of a quiet oasis and fun vacation spot for you and your family to enjoy...this place truly has it all!!!
My wife and I stayed for a week with two other couples, a baby and a toddler. The house felt totally isolated due to the sense of privacy and lack of any noise. Very relaxing! The kitchen was stocked with all necessities to prepare full meals each day. Great appliances, pots and pans, utensils. The lanai was the most popular attraction of the house; we had so much fun lounging and eating out there by the pool that we never even turned on the big screen TV. The view from the lanai was even better than is represented in the pictures, with amazing sunsets and a cool breeze to keep the temperature hovering around perfect. Sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. Although the house feels isolated, we explored the island easily with 10-20 minute drives to surfing, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, hiking, dining and nightlife. We loved this great home and would recommend anyone looking for a relaxing Big Island getaway to book it...just not when we're trying to come back!
From the moment we walked through the door we knew this was a special place. A stunning pool, garden and ocean view greeted us outside - and an incredible airy light filled living and dining room with incredible Lanai in front of us. We almost forgot to move from the front door! We were travelling with our 3 teenagers (2 13 year olds and a 16 year old) and had just come from Waikiki. This peaceful and lush setting was just what we needed. The property had everything we needed for venturing out or staying on sight. We felt at home very quickly. The bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed and the space was wonderful. Even with a full kitchen we tended to use only the fridge and enjoyed grilling on the barbeque and eating our meals on the Lanai. All 5 of us truly enjoyed this home. It is well located in terms of access to grocery stores/ restaurants and Kona proper and for day trips to any of the sights. And wait until you get that first sunset.... We will gladly return the next time we head to the big Island and strongly recommend this location.
Liza & Lauren, we're in love with your house. We arrived in Kona from busy jobs in Silicon Valley, balls of stress, and within 24 hours, we were transformed into groovy, blissed-out, bikini clad, island people. The large deck overlooking the ocean is super special. We enjoyed many afternoons (sandy and sun-kissed from a day at the beach) sipping cocktails, in the big cozy lounge chairs, gazing out at the turquoise sea. The pool is simply fantastic, and I love that it is environmentally friendly and gentle on the skin, with a half salt water, half chlorine mix. In fact, my daughter learned how to swim there! I have video of her first shaky lap across the shallow end. If you want to cook at home (and you will, because this house makes you never want to leave) the kitchen has everything, and it's a short 5 minute drive down the mountain to Costco, and a myriad of shops. Our stay here was simply wonderful, and we hope to return soon!
We came here with our 8 month old and it was fantastic. Beautiful home, away from the heat and traffic downtown. AMAZING sunsets every night. It was such a relaxing experience and such a great way to spend a week. We had a rental car so getting to the beach was an easy 15 minute drive, but it was great to be a little bit removed from the resorts/downtown/beach area when we wanted to just chill at night. Also loved the wild chickens and turkeys that sometimes roam the neighborhood. HIGHLY recommend it for any type of family.
We stayed here for a week during the Ironman Race. It was Perfect for us! 7 of us were very comfortable! It is in a beautiful neighborhood, with gorgeous view and sunsets! We found the garage had all kinds of snorkel equipment, water shoes add beach towels were even included! The landscape was beautifully maintained. We picked fruit right from the trees, (although the avocados never quite got ripe enough while we were there). Thank you for a great vacation!
After a few rainy days on Oahu, my girlfriend and I flew to the Big Island to meet up with two other couples staying at the house. As soon as I got off the plane in Kona I thought “now THIS is Hawaii”: warm sun, blue skies, and turquoise waters. A very short drive later we arrived at the house and were greeted by our friends and the million-dollar ocean view. If the only thing you did in Hawaii was lounge on the hammock in this lanai you’d be happy.
Over the next few days we went charter fishing (caught tuna dinner for the whole party), snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, relaxed by the pool and explored Kona. The only activity that required driving more than 30 minutes was a trip to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (about 2 hours and definitely worth it).
There were 6 adults and 2 children in our party and we had plenty of room. Everything was top-notch. If we ever have the chance to get back to Hawaii I’d love to stay in this house again.
Visit nearby Makalei Golf Club, which is just 5 minutes from the house! It features 18 holes on a championship course. It Is affordable and was voted Best Course in West Hawaii in 2009. The Kona Country Club is another beautiful one (~35 min away and a bit pricier). Other activities include: stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), canoeing, luaus, sunset cruises, island helicopter rides, live seahorse ecology and volcano tours.
Also, Hawaii is required by law to allow public travelers and locals alike to use a certain amount of beach-front access and amenities of hotels for free!...something to look into for a fun day trip. We like the Hilton at Waikaloa, and they'll validate your $10 parking pass with any purchase at the tiki bar & restaurant.
