About the property

6/7 bedrooms. Within 10 mins walk of shops, theatres and attractions.

Stratford House provides an ideal venue for large family or friend reunions. Cars are not essential as the property is located within 10 minutes walk of all major attractions and shops and the town is well served by bus and rail. But if cars are preferred the forecourt provides ample parking for up to 8 cars.

For those of you who have been before, the house has been completely reconfigured on the ground floor. We have knocked down few walls and now have a new spacious kitchen which leads directly into the conservatory dining room. This room can be arranged in 2 ways. There are 2 tables that can each seat 8 people very comfortably. However these tables can be put together to create almost a square to provide more sociable and comfortable seating for up to 14. This arrangement would not be ideal for 15 or 16 people as 1 or 2 volunteers would have to sit at corners, but it can be done.

A much more spacious lounge has replaced 2 former bedrooms on the ground floor with doors onto the patio. Although 2 bedrooms have been lost, capacity has been maintained with the provision of 2 double sofa beds in the new lounge which can be separated for privacy with a free-standing room divider.

It must be noted that, while the downstairs cloakroom does provide a toilet and washbasin for anyone sleeping in the new lounge, shower facilities need to be borrowed from one of the 6 remaining en-suite bedrooms. While we did consider the impact of losing 2 established bedrooms, we feel that the benefit of providing far more usable living space in the daytime has more than made up for this.

Also on the ground floor remains a double bedroom, a utility room and a cloakroom.

The first floor provides 2 further doubles, a family room for 4, a single and a further twin. All bedrooms have TVs and full ensuite facilities

Outside is a patio area and a summer house that can be used as an extra sitting room or more generally as a children's playroom.

I am Karen and run the property in partnership with my daughter Tasha who spends her spare time bringing up my 3 gorgeous grandchildren, Eddie (6) Bethany (4) and little Oliver who turned 1 on Christmas Eve. In my spare time I work as a midwife in Worcester.

I also have 2 sons and we were all born and continue to live in this fabulous town.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stratford House, the accommodation is a good size with lovely en suite rooms, superb kitchen dining space, lounge and parking. Great location and easy walking into town. Karen and Tasha were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would love to stay again and would highly recommend.

Great house for family or friends to meet, lovely owners!

We used the house as a family reunion,central for us all.great owners,and considerate leaving us clotted cream and scones,bread,butter and milk on arrival, lovely touch.All bedrooms fab with ensuite.

The house was not as clean as you would expect,and bins outside disgusting(other guests leaving food waste in them!).It would have been handy to have the bare essentials in the kitchen,cooking oil,kitchen towel,salt,pepper,tea and coffee ,sugar for arrival. The kitchen is over equipped for cooking,but actually not enough plates,bowls,cups,glasses for 16 guests.

A bit pricey for a simple weekend @ £1250 for the house,but Stratford is a lovely place to be,and we enjoyed meeting up as a big family as it doesn't happen that often.

Thankyou Tasha and Karen,we would recommend but noticed on the high street,that the house is up for sale?.

Owner's Response: Hi Karen, Thank you for your review. I'm glad you had a lovely time with your family. Such a special reason to all get together. I've noted your comments and thank you for them. The bin situation is often difficult to manage as the bin men round here regularly take a look inside the bins and won't empty them if they don't like what is inside them. Very frustrating. With regards to items in the kitchen, we now provide kitchen towel upon your suggestion, but all other items mentioned are actually in the cupboards already, including crockery, glasses etc. for 16. We'd love to see you again next year. Regards Karen and Tasha. P.S. We are most definitely NOT up for sale by the way?

Great for a family weekend away

Stratford-upon-Avon is world renowned for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Locally there are 5 properties to visit connected with his own birth and that of family members. A must see is one of his plays at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre . Failing that the riverside setting of Stratford is immensely attractive and simply strolling by the river or hiring a rowing boat is tremendously popular.

We are also spoilt by an incredible choice of fabulous restaurants and pubs offering a wide range of food and drink.

Nearby are the towns of Warwick and Kenilworth each with an impressive castle and the village of Mickleton with the outstanding gardens of Hidcote Manor.

Within 30 minutes drive you can also find yourself in the Cotswolds where the villages of Broadway, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and Chipping Campden represent just a handful of the prettiest villages in England.

Any cancellation must be received no later than 6 weeks prior to arrival. The breakages deposit is refunded within 7 days of departure once the property has been checked over.
