Description

Icklesham Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

Old River Way - a holiday home that sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms

A family and dog friendly holiday cottage with four bedrooms in the seaside village of Winchelsea Beach, East Sussex, close to medieval Rye.

Old River Way is large family friendly bungalow for eight guests and is dog friendly too, in the seaside village of Winchelsea Beach. You enter into the hallway and a room leads to the large sunny lounge diner, with views overlooking the front garden. Off the hallway is the modern, well equipped kitchen, with a door leading to the rear enclosed garden. A small hallway runs off the main hallway which leads to a bedroom with a bunk beds, with the bottom bed a double. There is also a twin room off this hallway. There is a separate shower room, another twin bedroom and a master bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom and walk in wardrobe. The garden to the rear has a decked outside eating area and a stone barbecue close to the kitchen for your use. The front of the garden has a long driveway, ample parking for many cars. There is a small stream to the front of the property and attracts ducks which children love to feed and watch.

Around Winchelsea Beach

Old River Way is set back from the main road along a quiet lane, about ten to fifteen minutes from the shingle beach and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Winchelsea Beach is located 1.5 miles south east of Winchelsea and about ten miles from Hastings. The ancient town of Winchelsea with its medieval gates standing guard of the town and ancient cellars hark back to days of invasions and smugglers. Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is ideal for dog walking, cycling or birdwatching and is close enough to walk to from the bungalow. Medieval Rye is three miles away and like Winchelsea enjoys a colourful history and is very popular with its antique shops and tea rooms. A short drive along the coast and you will find the vibrant fishing town of Hastings. Here you can walk amongst the fishing boats or for a more cultural experience visit the Jerwood Gallery set amongst the old fishing huts.

You are of course in 1066 Country and with that comes castles, National Trust gardens and grand houses - plenty to visit during your stay but too many for me to list.
