This Grand Champions - One bedroom condominium is just a short walk to the ocean. This is our personal condominium, and when we are not on the property one of our neighbors will be available to take care of any problems. Please check our rental calendar before putting in an inquiry, as this will save us both time; we keep it up to the minute.
The ground floor unit features easy access and a reserved parking space in front of the unit. It features a large bedroom with a comfortable, king-size bed, a living room with a large futon, a full kitchen, dining area, full bathroom with a two person shower and a tub, and a lanai featuring tropical garden views - with a waterfall and stream in the winter months. While it is a ground floor unit, the lanai is raised about six feet off ground level (no outside access). Floor space is approximately 900 square feet. See below for other details. This is one of the best units in the complex, quiet because it is on the edge of the property, and shaded for most of the day so it is cool even in the summer.
This is the most affordable, one bedroom, luxury condominium in one of the finest resorts in the world. It is like staying at the world famous Grand Wailea resort (which you can walk to) for less than a third of the price. The unit easily sleeps four.
The Grand Champions property features two pools with whirlpool spas, barbecue facilities and lush gardens. It is surrounded by Wailea's award winning Blue Golf Course and Tennis Club. Ranked in the top 50 best resort tennis facilities, the club boasts 11 plexi-pave courts, three lit courts for night play, a stadium court and a full service pro shop. Guests will receive preferential golf and tennis rates/reservations at the Wailea and Makena Resorts.
Located in the heart of the Wailea Resort area, on Maui's sunny south shore, Grand Champions is just a short walk to the Shops at Wailea, and minutes from Ulua Beach (ranked eighth in the nation - world class snorkeling and& diving too), Keawakapu, Mokapu, Ulua, Wailea Beach, and Polo Beaches, spa facilities and award winning restaurants. Grand Champions is a private enclave in the midst of Wailea that offers its guests all the wealth of this world-class resort's environment and a touch of seclusion that sets it quietly apart. The architecture is classic, the environment peaceful, the landscaping lush, and the views are exceptional - including the world's largest dormant volcano, Haleakala.
Kihei is a few minutes to the north. This is much more of a busy, touristy town. You can find lots of stores there to get groceries and other stuff; and some good, inexpensive restaurants. There is also mainland style shopping center a few miles up the Piilani Highway, with and Outback Steakhouse, a Blockbuster Video and other name brand stores; including a Safeway for food supplies.
Discover Hawaii's fascinating undersea world on a snorkel or dive trip. Explore the beautiful Hawaiian waters aboard a private yacht charter or observe nature on a whale watching tour. For those who would like to remain on land, Hawaii offers adventurous bike tours and eco-tourism hikes. Visit Ahihi-Kina'u Natural Area Reserve, Kealia Pond Wildlife Refuge, or the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale Sanctuary. Maui is a treasure of cultural and natural sights just waiting to be explored.
This condo is Non Smoking, including the lanai area.
Check in time is 3:00; check out time is 11:00. You MUST be out of the condo by 11:00 so it can be cleaned for the next occupant unless we have agreed to a late checkout in advance. Absent that pre-agreement, if you are not out of the unit by 11:00, you will be charged an additional days rental. Please note that if there are back-to-back, or in and out on the same day, situations created by your reservation, this may cause my cleaner to be overbooked, and you may be asked to accept a later check in time, such as 6:00. If this is necessary, a $50 credit will be given.
There are no pets allowed in the condo complex.
Cancellations and refunds:
A $300 Deposit is required to hold the condo for all reservations. For rentals longer than three weeks, a larger deposit may be required. This deposit will not be refunded for cancellations within 2 months of arrival. If you just shift a booking in the same general timeframe we can carryover the deposit. If you just cancel, you can apply half of the deposit to a future rental. The balance is due one month before arrival. If the balance is not paid at that time, the reservation may be canceled. Once full payment is made, and if you have to cancel up to 2 weeks before arrival, we will refund one half of the total payment. After that, no refund of any kind.

We purchased this condo, which is part of a 2 BR lockout unit, as our retirement home. Of course that hasn't happened as soon as we were expecting. We stayed in a similar unit one summer and fell in love with the area. We were looking for a place that would be great for vacations but also someplace that we could see ourselves living some day.
The memories from our first trip to Hawaii will be everlasting!! The comfort and convenience of he condo have made our trip even better, The bed is comfy, and I have enjoyed my morning coffee on the lanai wile watching and listening to all of the birds! If we are ever this way again we will look this pace up first.
For our first time in Maui, with two toddlers in tow, we knew we needed a place more like home that has a washer/dryer (less clothes to pack), spacious bathroom, and a kitchen. We are so thankful to have found this place! Mark always responded quickly and helped us with figuring where to start looking in terms of what places we can go to that the kids can also enjoy. The information packet that is provided prior to your arrival is well detailed. The condo itself is located in a wonderful area, within walking distance for us (we love taking walks), to the Shops at Wailea, and our favorite Wailea Beach! Safeway was also within 10 mins drive. In the condo, our favorite area was the lanai where you are treated to lots of shady trees and flowers - our kids loved hearing the birds sing and the daily visits from geckos. Overall, we definitely want to come back to Maui soon, and will be using this condo again (if available, hopefully!)
The best thing about our rental was that there were no surprises. Everything was exactly as advertised. The amenities in the condo were excellent, including the snorkeling gear. Location is nice and quiet and centrally located to enable us to visit multiple beaches. As first time visitors to Hawaii, we took in all the touristy things including a luau and the Road to Hana. All were very fun. Condo is affordable, clean and my daughters can't wait to return!
Nothing but good things to say about this rental. Owner provided a great deal of information in advance, and upon arrival there was even more information on the condo and surrounding area and a box of Maui chocolates waiting for us.
Condo was very clean and orderly. We ate out for all meals so did not use the kitchen, but it looked adequate for most purposes. Lots of towels provided. Snorkel gear and boogie board for guest use are a nice touch.
Location is great - the closest beach (Ulua beach) is about a 2 minute drive away and was one of our favorites of the several beaches we visited between O'ahu and Maui on our trip, and was the runner-up for best snorkeling spot second only to Hanauma Bay, which is saying something. It's about a 5 minute drive to get to the large number of shops and restaurants in Kihei.
Overall it is a great value for the price, and we would definitely stay again.
I stayed here for a wedding for a week and was blown away by this property. I had never gone through VRBO so was a little leery but needed a spot in the area due to wanting to be close to friends getting married who were staying at the Wailea Beach Villas, the Marriott, and the Andaz. Comparative hotels were going for approximately 2-3 times the amount of the rental price of this unit. Grand Champions is walking distance to all of them and in one of the nicest/priciest areas in Maui.
All the instructions for using the suite were straight forward and easy which was appreciated for my late night first arrival, having a parking stall for the rental was awesome too. It was roomy and clean with a great feel to it inside. The suite had laundry detergent, cleaning stuff, coffee filters, salt and pepper and other odds and ends that made the stay so convenient (although I'm guessing that stuff could vary depending on who bought what prior to your stay). Being able to cook really was a huge help in keeping the costs down on the trip which was nice. I never actually used the 2 pools in the resort just from being pretty busy elsewhere but they looked great.
I actually locked myself out of the suite once as the door automatically swings and locks behind you upon leaving, so make sure you remember the code for the lock box outside!!
The only drawback I would say is and this is extremely minor, the noise from the adjoining units is fairly easy to hear. I woke up a couple times actually thinking somebody was in the suite when they were outside, but that probably owes more to me forgetting what living in a condo is like with adjoining suites.
All in all I recommend this spot 100%, great stay and value for the money. The owner, Mark was engaged and easy to deal with via email. Thanks so much for making this a great experience, will recommend to friends for sure!!!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Grand Champions Villas condo (1 bedroom). We have a young son (4 yrs old) and the 1 BR condo was perfect. The owners/caretaker had futon in the living area all made up for our son in advance. Lorraine (the friendly on-site caretaker) had unlocked everything and opened windows/turned on fans in advance of our arrival as well, which made it very comfortable inside. In fact, the temperature was so good we almost didn't use the AC during our entire stay.
We really enjoyed the main floor location, which was such a short walk to the "kid friendly" pool. Our son (and us too!) had a wonderful time playing in the pool as well as sitting on the balcony enjoying the rain forest-like view. The condo felt very comfortable and homey, while still being clean, well-appointed and convenient.
We spent the remainder of our time in Maui at a time-share in Kaanapali. However, our first 3 days/nights staying in Wailea at this condo were delightful. Relaxing, easy and well-priced. We have highly recommended this condo to friends and family and would happily say the same to a stranger.
We stopped to shop at Wal-Mart on the way from the airport which worked out well. During our stay, we enjoyed the short drive to the restaurant/shopping area and ate at the MonkeyPod restaurant (YUM!). The overall location was great for us.
Overall, a great experience for us!
