About the property

2 bedroom cottage in the quaint village of Thornton Watlass close to Masham

Set just off the village green, a stones throw from the Buck Inn, Millstone Cottage is the ideal place to discover North Yorkshire. With stables and horses in the back yard, and stunning views of the Hambleton Hills, this renovated 2 bedroom cottage offers an open plan kitchen and living area, with TV, DVD player, Wii console and WIFI. Two large double bedrooms upstairs (one room can be separate twin beds, or double bed on request) and bathroom with bath and shower. Bed linen and towels are provided. The shared porch offers use of washing machine and tumble dryer. The outside yard provides ample parking for two cars, aswell as patio with garden furniture and parasol. There is also a coal BBQ available on request. There is a travel cot, highchair and stair gates available, and well behaved pets are welcome. We can also accommodate equine guests if required. Please note that the property is joined to our family home and we share the porch entrance and back yard

About Leanne Hannity

We have lived at Millstone Cottage since 2006, and whilst doing up our house decided to renovate our disused garage in to a holiday cottage to allow others to enjoy our beautiful space. We love living here, and hope that you enjoy staying in the cottage. Niall and I have a passion for horses and horse racing, and so we usually have a few horses in the fields, whether they be ex racehorses looking to start their new life, or current racehorses having a holiday. We aim to provide a friendly, relaxing environment for you to enjoy your holiday

Our cottage provides the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Yorkshire Dales. The village of Thornton Watlass has a wonderful community spirit and a true Yorkshire feel. The views from the cottage are stunning, seeing for miles on a clear day.

Situated on the edge of the village green and cricket pitch, with walks and bridleways directly on the doorstep. With views of the Hambleton Hills visible from the cottage across the stable yard and fields at the back of the property where retired racehorses graze, this cottage is ideally situated for various local attractions, including Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal in nearby Ripon, along with Lightwater Valley Theme Park a 15 minute drive away. Heading North in to the North Yorks Moors you will find the town of Middleham with its 200 plus Racehorses, and the Mysterious Forbidden Corner. The area is surrounded by fantastic walking and cycling teraine, as well as waterfalls, forests, lakes, reservoirs and ancient ruins
