Our home is well maintained with 1600 sq. ft, landscaping, and sits in a private, wooded 11-acre tract. It has a large master suite with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Hardwood floors with area carpets enhance the living experience. There is a huge covered dock with sun deck to tie your boat up to. Rental boats available at Harbor Light Marina. Free use public boat ramp close by to launch your boat. Available canoe and floats to use for your leisure activities. We do have a security system in place which shows the 4 corners of our nearly 11 acres of property on a monitor. No one is manning this monitor, but it is helpful to have in place in case of a concern. The visual does not extend as far as the dock. We also have in place several motion sensitive lights. Those lights come on whenever motion is detected. This might be a person, a cat (there are 4 outside cats), deer, raccoon, or other animal. These are not connected to any cameras. They are just courtesy lights. Probably the best courtesy is for a late arrival. When you would pull up in the drive way, the motion sensor light comes on and stays on long enough for you to put the code 1243 in the key box, retrieve your keys, unlock the door, retype 1243, replace this key, and close the box, all with plenty of light. You will then find several sets of keys on the kitchen counter. It's also a nice way to welcome you back 'home' after dinner when it is dark, and you forgot to leave an outside light on.
Great rental. Cozy in the woods. Right on the lake.. Everything you need is right here. Pets considered. When pets are allowed, we ask that they not be on any furniture. I do use the red sofa covers when a pet is here, just in case. If I did not put them on by mistake, please find them in the master closet in the top drawer. And we thank you so much.
Wi fi is available. The Password is located in the master bedroom on the bottom of the router where it says PASSWORD. Use that password and you will be connected.
Directions for using the TV's are located in the living room, under the glass on the coffee table top. There are very specific directions for which controller to use for what and the order in which to push the buttons. There will be no difficulties when done in this order. And again, we thank you so much. Neither of us is very 'techy,' and me not at all.
We wanted to get away from the crowds of Charleston, South Carolina to have some quality vacation time and that's exactly what we got. The home had everything you could need or want....we will never stay in a hotel again! The bed was so comfortable and the loved the Jacuzzi tub in the master bath. Kitchen had everything you needed and if you had any questions the owners were always willing to help..such a lovely couple! The yard was so beautifully landscaped! Location....location..location! It was our first time visiting lake Hartwell and we did not realize it has lots of homes on the side of little mountains!!! This home had a gentle slope down to the incredible 2 story boat dock. We sat out on the dock just about every night to watch the stars! Fell in love with the lake and its crystal clear blue green water...will defiantly be returning and staying at this home again!
Great time in a great spot. Owners were very nice and accommodating to all our needs. Very lovely spot and easy to get to. we were dropping off our son at Clemson and it was only a short ride to the school through some beautiful back county roads.
Unit was very clean and neat. Dock is amazing and is on a private cove that allowed us to float for hours without being disrupted by boat traffic. Offers a canoe which was nice for the kids.
Highly recommend this lovely spot.
My family and I just returned home from this wonderful lake house. We had an amazing time! Everything was perfect. Mary and Pat were so welcoming, and they shared great stories with us. We highly recommend this beautiful lake house to anyone looking to relax, enjoy nature, and spend all day at the beautiful lake. We will definitely be back, God willing.
I don't know if there will be enough space to write all of the glowing accolades I have for the week my husband, children, grandchildren, and four-legged child experienced with Pat and Mary at the little house! Not only was the home well stocked, welcoming, and comfortable, but as soon as Pat saw our boat, he knew it was too big for the local landing. He loaded himself up with us and graciously drove our boat back to the magnificent dock. We made use of this great dock pretty much daily...the grandchildren came down to visit and love swimming from it, our son loved watching the sunset from the top level, and our labradoodle enjoyed making use of the bench seat as her launching off pad to start her swimming.
Pat and Mary were extremely gracious hosts, and have the true gift of hospitality! Our entire family fell in love with them both and hope to return again for many more stays in the future!!
My family and I just got back from an enjoyable weekend and could not have been happier with the stay. The host and hostess were accessible, and the dock was an amazing two deck one. I highly suggest renting here if you want to be anywhere in this area of the lake!
We absolutely loved the cottage, property, dock, and their home! From our very first day we felt so comfortable and relaxed! Mary & Pat made us feel so welcome. They are truly the sweetest people and were so helpful. When we got there we sat and talk with Mary & Pat for the longest time. They were so knowledgeable of the area, since we were there to find and purchase our own little slice of heaven on the lake , they gave us so much information that helped us find our own piece of paradise! Their place was like a slice of heaven! The cottage was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The walkway down to the dock is spectacular! The dock and view were fabulous! If we hadn't found our home while we were there, we would most definitely would have returned to stay here again! Thanks again Mary & Pat for your hospitality! We will definitely be by again to say hello when we finally get settled in her own home!

Lake Hartwell , a man-made lake bordering Georgia and South Carolina, is one of the largest and most popular public recreation lakes is the southeast. It has a shoreline of 962 miles. Our home sits on almost 11 acres of that land with 1032 feet of shoreline. There are many public parks and marinas close by. Fishing is legal anywhere on the lake with either a GA or SC license. Visit nearby waterfalls. Play golf. Go rafting or canoeing on the Chattooga River, or use our canoe for a more leisurely ride. Enjoy Clemson University sports or visit the Botanical Garden. Go hiking at trails of all levels of difficulty. Go boating or water skiing. Tie your boat to our dock, the largest private dock (we're told) on the lake, in the deep water cove we call home. Relax and enjoy.
