About the property

A pretty, traditional cottage adjacent to a private pool set in shady secluded garden surrounded by acres of olive groves, almond blossom and beautiful walks. The accommodation comprises a delightful stone-built characterful studio cottage with private shower en-suite facilities lies in the garden of our farmhouse,. The charming room has a king sized bed and a semi-enclosed alfresco kitchen area with barbecue, sink, fridge, kettle and coffee machine. There is no indoor sitting room however we have provided two traditional Monchique chairs in your room should the weather be unsuitable for sitting outside. There are various chairs in the south facing garden with views of the mature walnut tree and hundred year old vine. For those seeking peace and quiet in a childfree rural retreat, this property will provide a haven of tranquility. For those times when you are tired of sunning yourself by the pool on the sunbeds, you might wish to relax further in one of the hammocks strung from the walnut tree and enjoy some beautiful dappled shade.

About Jane Caulfield-Kerney

We moved here from the South of England, our children having flown the nest, in order to enjoy the warm sunshine and the relaxed way of life. The price of wine was a help too! We enjoy having new faces around and most of our visitors end up as friends after only a couple of days.

Jane Caulfield-Kerney purchased this cottage in 1993

Why Jane Caulfield-Kerney chose Loule Town

We came here because the area is very quiet although only a few kilometres from the bustling market town of Loule. One of the main advantages of living here is that it is possible to find a new place to eat out well every day at very reasonable prices.

Beautiful, tastefully furnished traditional cottage. Immaculately maintained garden and pool.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely little cottage set in beautiful garden with hammocks slung from a walnut tree. A lemon tree and passion fruit tree by the pool set the scene for lounging or having breakfast by the immaculate pool before a refreshing dip. The hosts are incredibly friendly and hospitable and nothing is too much trouble. The owners two lovely dogs, Megan and Charlie will melt your heart

The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring the Algarve and is a short drive to the coast whilst far enough away to avoid the crowds when a little peace is required.

Thoroughly recommended.

All you need for a peaceful and relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

Had a lovely 10 night stay, Jane & Graham are great hosts stayed up to welcome us in after our flight was delayed and not arriving until 1am. The cottage bedroom and bathroom are small but stil plenty big enough for 2. Enjoyed cooking on the built in gas BBQ. Pool area is great getting the sun all day, also a lovely shaded area under the Walnut tree with 2 hammocks. Happy to recommend to anyone wanting a quiet relaxing holiday, Darran & Fay

Restful and restorative

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed for 10 nights in this charming cottage. We were met by Jane and her husband Graeham and were immediately welcomed with warmth and caring which lasted throughout our stay. The cottage had everything we needed and the sole use of the beautiful pool was wonderful. There is so much to see and do in the Algarve and we enjoyed visiting the quieter tourist areas within the region. Tavira is a pretty town and for a quiet and beautiful beach we liked Manta Rota. Alcoutin, which borders Spain, has a small river beach and a castle. Driving back through the hills was great with hardly any traffic. Alte is lovely and so is Loule, just 10 minutes away with a wonderful Saturday market. We saw so many fabulous sights but what really made our break were Jane and Graeham. You couldn't wish for nicer hosts, who also invited us to join them for a few social events. Their two dogs, Charlie and Megan are pretty special too!

Hidden Gem!

  • 5 of 5

Delightful little cottage, very comfortable and very well equipped for two. everything we needed This property is close the family house though hidden away and set in a charming garden. Sadly not the right time of year to use the pool, but lovely walks.

We had a very warm welcome from our hosts Jane and Graham who made our stay so enjoyable. Really recommend.
