There are movies, CD's, games, bbq tools, throw blankets...just like home.

WE ARE FINDING THAT MORE AND MORE PEOPLE LIKE STAYING ON THE BAY SIDE BECAUSE IT IS QUIETER THAN THE OCEAN SIDE...especially when so easy to access both! We like north mission beach also because you cannot hear any noise from any planes from the airport which can be heard when staying in south mission beach. THIS PROPERTY IS IN A QUIET AREA. Play on the sand, walk on the flat beach for miles, enjoy the boardwalk for jogging, riding bikes, roller blading, skate boarding, or just walking. Swim in the bay or rent kayaks, stand up paddle boards, or small sail boats at the nearby aquatic center.

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE LIGHT COUCH CONCERN YOU. EACH CUSHION IS A SLIP COVER WITH A ZIPPER FOR EASY REMOVAL. I HAVE A BACK UP SET AT HOME AND THEY WASH EASILY. AT LEAST YOU KNOW THE COUCH IS CLEAN! I BOUGHT A NEW CONTEMPORARY SECTIONAL COUCH TO ADD MORE SEATING AND DID NOT HAVE A CHOICE OF SLIP COVER COLORS THAT WOULD WORK EXCEPT CREAM. I HAVE COVERED DINING CHAIRS, BUT ALSO WHITE PLASTIC CHAIRS IN THE GARAGE FOR SMALL CHILDREN THAT ARE COMPLETELY WASHABLE. I WANTED TO APPEAL TO ADULTS AND THEN OFFER THINGS FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AS WELL. THIS HOUSE DOES NOT REQUIRE MORE CARE THAN YOUR OWN HOME....JUST SAND REMOVAL AT THE FRONT DOOR WITH A HANDY RINSE CONTAINER AS WELL AS HOSE.

Location is important because if you are on the east side of the bay over by the Hilton Hotel, you do not have walking access to the ocean side or restaurants without getting into your car and driving.

This is a ground level property with private patio and the bedrooms are on the second level. We have two comfy kings and one queen bed with an option of a twin Aero bed if needed.

The property is just minutes from downtown San Diego and just across the bay from the very popular theme park, Sea World. This property is ideal for families and anyone looking for a bit of paradise to retreat to for a wonderful vacation. My husband and I live right here in San Diego and are able to oversee the property. It makes a difference because we can give it that 'home away from home' feel and add our personal touches to help you create a wonderful vacation experience.

We want our guests to enjoy all of the additional touches. The kitchen is very well equipped as we know how frustrating it can be when you do not have something you need and have at home in your own kitchen to make your cooking experience and life a bit easier. The dishes all match as I believe the importance of having nice things for your use. I did not want any hand me downs for your beach experience. We also have place mats and votive candles.

WE ALSO HAVE CHILDREN IN MIND. We have a booster seat with two option levels for the tray table top, two step stools for little ones - upstairs and down and several toddler life jackets. WE HAVE A PACK AND PLAY, BED RAIL, AND A BABY GATE. There is a rinse container at the front door and we provide towels for sand removal and even an outdoor heated shower. Parents appreciate easy sand removal!

Water recreation area: You can rent recreation equipment nearby. We have two rental sites at the end of Santa Clara Court which is a short walk from the property. EXPERIENCE PADDLE BOARDING, KAYAKING, SAILING TO NAME A FEW....ALL IN FRONT OF YOUR PROPERTY. It is the greatest place to ride bikes as we have miles of flat boardwalk on the ocean side and ocean bay side of the mission beach peninsula. It is a recreation paradise!!

Walk out your front door and experience the beach, the boardwalk and the ocean bay in front of you. It is a short walk to the ocean side. You can walk for miles....unique experience that few beach areas can offer. Usually when you start to walk in most beach areas, you run into a rock formation or the beach ends....that is why this is so unique.

In the busy season, it is great to be on the quieter ocean bay side. In the winter season, the ocean bay side shelters you from the breeze over the ocean.....its a good spot! You can also walk to restaurants and shops.

The living area is on the ground level with the half bath and the bedrooms are on the second floor. The master has a full beach and water view (with private deck). The other two bedrooms also have a deck. This also offers great breezes when you have doors in the bedrooms rather than just windows. We have great cross ventilation from the sea breeze.

I am middle age and live here in San Diego with my husband. Our two children are grown and out of the house now.

We absolutely love the beach and all of the emotions one experiences from the exhilerance of the pounding surf to the serenity of watching the sail boats skim across the ocean bay. I have always been drawn to the beach and just love living about 15 minutes from the ocean. I was a flight attendant for 25 years and went to school in the 90's and studied holistic health and nutrition. Now I am enjoying helping guests find a wonderful spot for their beach vacation.

I care about my guests and am committed to making sure the property is clean and well equipped for you. I have been renting to guests for about 12 years and advertising on the vrbo and homeaway and various sites. WE FOUND NORTH MISSION BEACH IS GREAT FOR MANY REASONS. WITH THIS LOCATION, WE LIKE THE EASY WALK TO RESTAURANTS. CLOSE TO BIKE RENTAL PLACES, AS WELL AS THE MISSION BAY AQUATIC CENTER, AN OUT DOOR PUBLIC TENNIS COURT AND AN OUTDOOR HALF BASKETBALL COURT. CLOSER TO GROCERY STORES WHICH ARE IN PACIFIC BEACH

When moving to San Diego from the San Francisco Bay area in 1999, we absolutely fell in love with the Mission Beach area and rented in our building for 1 and 1/2 years. We were fortunate to eventually purchase one of the three condos in our building and wanted to share with others for this wonderful 'San Diego beach experience'. Our dream is to retire here some day. In the meantime, we are working towards that! We are in our early 60's and take pride in presenting a property in a quiet location that is well maintained, well equipped, and very clean.

What makes this house unique

Location, location, location. You are right on a quiet beach with peaceful water views and many recreation opportunities at your finger tips or you can just relax on the beach. You do not have to get into your car and drive any where. It is all right here. About 90 steps to the west is the ocean and you are about 15 to 20 minutes from all the attractions people come to San Diego to see. The convenience of this area cannot be matched. Fun to be on the ground level so you can walk right out to the beach. With the bedrooms upstairs, you have a full beach & water view from the master suite & additional privacy from the first floor. take pride in making sure the property is clean and comfortable for my guests.....

It is nice to find a place where the owners take pride in the property and keep it new, fresh, clean, and well maintained. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated. This really looks and feels like a home away from home. I really strive to make sure you have everything you would need to be comfortable and to ensure you feel at home and like this is a special place for your well earned vacation.

  • 2 king beds and 1 queen bed - one in each bedroom One king is a pillow top and the other is a Duxiana king We have a twin Aero Bed if an additional bed is needed as well as a tri-fold mat. The Aero Bed self inflates and is very comfortable. It adds an extra bed and fits along side one of the king or queen beds in the various bedrooms. We also have linens for it. All bedrooms have a balcony. The master suite has a private balcony that is beach and water front with a glass enclosure offering full view. Because the bedrooms have exterior glass doors, this offers a wonderful gentle cross breeze throughout the property when you choose to open them. It is so nice to be able to walk outside your bedroom onto a deck. You feel a close connection to the out of doors, beach and bay. You can enjoy the fireworks just across the bay at Sea World from master bedroom deck or first floor patio. It is also nice for a couple to enjoy their own private deck off their bedroom.

Waterfront, beach front, on the quieter bay side of Mission Beach. The ocean is about 90 steps to the west....just across to the west. This property is located beach and water front. You walk out your private patio, cross the boardwalk which runs in front of the building, and you are on the sand. Mission Beach is a narrow peninsula of land. On the west side is the Pacific Ocean. The ocean comes down to the southern point of the peninsula and fills the massive Pacific Ocean bay on the east side of the peninsula. Both the west and east sides of the peninsula have a boardwalk running in front of the beach front properties. The boardwalk is directly in front of this property and boarders the sandy beach. The bay side, where this property is located, is about 90 steps from the ocean side. We are on the quieter side of Mission Beach. Enjoy viewing palm trees and small sail boats and kayaks on the water from your patio. You can even rent these and sail or kayak right on bay

Perfect beach getaway to relax and rejuvinate.....

Wow, what a lovely surprise at a great value on the bay in Mission Beach! If you are looking for a hassle free, turn key, quiet, relaxing, inspiring place at the beach in San Diego - this is the place for you.

In the past 12 months, I have stayed at two other places in Mission Beach that were much more expensive....and I prefer this condo by far. Don't get me wrong, the other two places were nice, but this spot felt like home.

Mission Beach has two sides to it when you're speaking of "beachfront" - there's the bay side(quiet, calm, peaceful, relaxing and no crowds) and there's the ocean side(lots of people, party scene, restaurants & bars, etc.). My preference is to stay on the bay side for the peace & quiet...then If I'm feeling like some action, I take a 5 minute walk over to the ocean side of Mission Beach.

This place is immaculate and very comfortable/livable at the same time. Everything you need is provided, including a "guest information book" that Shirl, the gracious, friendly, helpful owner has put together with listings of local restaurants, grocery stores, etc. All of the appliances are in perfect working condition. The furnishings are of exceptional quality and at the same time functional for beach living. The beds are VERY comfortable - I slept like a baby in the master bed. I really like the flow from indoor to outdoor beach living - the living room opens to a spacious patio with a nice barbeque grill and dining table. The patio and master bedroom deck are both great for sunrises and sunsets, as well as a morning cup of coffee or sunset cocktail.

It has very good internet connection, cable TV, etc. for your business or entertainment needs, but I recommend enjoying leisurely strolls on the path along the bay.

This place is truly a gem and Shirl went out of her way to make sure I had an enjoyable break from the Los Angeles grind. If you want a hassle free, relaxing beach getaway...I HIGHLY recommend staying here for as long as your schedule permits!

We didn't want to leave!

What a wonderful stay we had here! The condo is in the perfect location on the bay with beautiful sunrise views & a quick walk over to the ocean to catch the sunset! If the ocean beach is too windy, relax on the sand right in front of your vacation home & soak up the warm sun. Shirl has included sand chairs, an umbrella, beach towels, balls & toys -so thoughtful. The inside is as beautiful as it is comfortable. It has everything you'd need. The bedrooms are large and our family of 5 had plenty of room. We enjoyed everything about this home and we'd love to come back someday soon! Thank you Shirl, for sharing your home!!

You are right on the beach with all the lovely views of the water and sandy beach at your doorstep, yet just steps from the ocean side. Both sides have so much to offer. You are actually closer to the water on the bay side so have that close connection. With the boardwalk, you can step out your door, off your private patio, and take a wonderful walk or bike ride for miles. It is not as crowded as on the ocean side so that is a plus as well. I really try to supply things well and have tried to think of everything people would possibly need. It was a pleasure accommodating your wonderful family and would love to have you back. The Get-Away of all Get-Aways

This property is new renovated and I cannot tell you how beautiful it is. Located on the bay side of Mission Bay, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy San Diego in a property that is fit for The Royals.

I would recommend this to any families looking to get away for a weekend or to vacation during the summer and enjoy everything that this great area has to offer.

Shirley is a terrific person and takes care of all your needs in this house. Sleeps comfortably and has amazing views. Don't stay at a hotel or another property...you will be glad you didn't!

Perfect bayside escape

Our stay here started out with a great, in depth tour with Shirl, the owner. She clearly has an eye for detail and takes pride in ownership. She really wants you to feel comfortable here and has it stocked such that you have everything you need to feel at home.

The location was perfect. You have a beautiful view to wake up to, you can see the Sea World fireworks and it is quiet on the bay side. The ocean side is very easily accessible. We rented bikes for the week and loved being able to ride up the bay side and the ocean side on a daily basis.

The amenities were great. Shirl provides good quality linens, cookware and she has recently redone the floors on the main floor and the kitchen. There is a warm water shower head on the outside to clean off all the sand, which was great for our kids. The beds were extremely comfortable and we felt like we slept better than we do in hotel rooms. The garage is tight but we were able to get a full sized minivan in and 3 bicycles, one of which was a tandem bike. She provides a binder with helpful information as well as a list of restaurants and all the ones we tried were great.

Overall, a great house, great location, and Shirl clearly has pride in the property and genuinely cares about creating a great venue for a great experience. We will definitely be recommending this to any friends/family going to San Diego.

Relaxing Family Vacation

We stayed in Shirley's rental with our 6 and 9 yr old girls for a week. Everything is as stated in the write up and Shirley was terrific to work with. The house felt like a home and the location can't be beat. Well stocked, comfortable, the beach out front was great for our kids to dig and play. Loved the 2 block walk to the ocean. Highly recommend, we'll be back!

Owner's Response: Hi Jennifer: I am so glad you enjoyed the property and your stay. I really do strive to create a comfortable, clean place for my guests with all the conveniences of a home. I know how important it is have a clean place, with nice furnishings, and comfortable beds and linens. It is also important to have a nicely equipped property so you have everything you need while here including a well equipped kitchen and all the things you need for the beach! As you stated, it is a great beach for young children to dig in the sand or play by the gradual shoreline. It is family oriented and quiet. It is also nice that the ocean side is several short blocks to the west so you really have the best of both worlds. It is a great location! North Mission Beach is family oriented and you have restaurants close by. The grocery stores are also only about a mile away. For families with older kids, we have the Mission Bay Aquatic Center just short walk from the property and they rent the stand up paddle boards, small sail boats, and kayaks. There is boogie boarding on the ocean side and we do have the boogie boards. Bike riding is fantastic in this area and we have volleyball nets on the beach for anyone to use. So as your kids get older, this location will still be perfect. We would love to accommodate you any time your travels bring you back our way, and very much appreciate you choosing this 'beach house' for your beach vacation! Kind regards, Shirley

Enjoy this beautiful ocean beach and bay just outside your front door. You can rent kayaks, stand up paddle boards, sail boats or swim right in front of the property. (Aquatic rental center within walking distance) Enjoy miles of flat boardwalk that border beach and ocean bay. So fun for walking, jogging, biking, roller blading, and skate boarding. This is the quieter side of (the block wide) Mission Beach with the ocean, beach and boardwalk on the west side of the peninsula and ocean bay, beach and boardwalk on the east side of the peninsula. Cross over from one side to the other and enjoy all Mission Beach has to offer. Unique recreation area close to all San Diego attractions. Enjoy Sea World fireworks from your private patio every night in the summer and on Saturday nights from Sept. to May. You are 15 to 20 minutes from Lindberg Field Int'l Airport, San Diego downtown area, The World Famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and Old Town. Enjoy beach living at its finest while being minutes from the nucleus of San Diego. Walk to Belmont Park in Mission Beach.

Other Activities: shopping, kayaking, boating, parasailing, shelling, health/beauty spa. You can walk to restaurants and shops.

You are close to all that San Diego has to offer. Mission Beach is very centrally located. You are across the bay from Sea World and yet just 15 minutes from Old Town, downtown San Diego, Lindbergh Field In't Airport, the World Famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and all they have to offer.

Golf: San Diego is a fabulous place to golf. We have the second most temperate climate in the world, second only to the Canary Islands. We have the world famous Torrey Pines golf course about 20 minutes from Mission Beach. There is even a little 9 course golf course on the other side of mission bay and it is lit at night in the summer....just a fun spot to take the family of golfers.

We have many golf courses, and I have a golf course guide in the property for your convenience in looking up all San Diego has to offer!

Holiday weeks are from $2890 to $3290 from Sept. to May. Early June is $3890, late June is $4390 & high summer from June 27 to Aug. 15 is $4590 from Sat. to Sat. End of August is discounted. I will do my best to work with you to meet your needs. Call in the off season for any specials close to the date. I am happy to accommodate last minute bookings and will consider even 2 nights if close to the date. I charge more per night if less than a week unless I am running a special close to the date. I do charge a credit card convenience transfer fee, but checks are free as well as in coming wire transfers.
