Why Dan and Rosie Quinn chose Lincoln

We have lived in and around Lincoln for more than 40 years and we love it!

On your travels, have you ever come across a small, empty cottage and stopped to take a closer look? For the last 6 years, we have been driving past the quaint row of cottages on Church Lane thinking how lovely they were and how rarely they came on the market...until one day we saw a for sale sign and we just had to take a look. The garden was a sorry empty space and the house had been abandoned after being part renovated, and there was no kitchen or bathroom to speak of, but the cottage was full of charm...all it needed was some vision and a lot of tender loving care.

This is how it all began in 2014 and now No. 24 is ready to be enjoyed by you.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage manages to be both airy and yet small but perfectly formed, which is one of the things we loved about it instantly. We've kept the decor both simple and luxurious, so you can really switch off in a peaceful environment which feels like you are pampering yourself.

Great cottage in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

Well equipped and cosy cottage in a great location close to the cathedral. Lots of lovely bars and restaurants within easy walking distance meant we didn't need to use the car for the whole of our stay.

The welcome hamper and kitchen essentials were a great touch.

I'm sure we'll be back.

Fabulous cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have had a lovely stay in Lincoln. The property was finished to a high standard, it was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We were met by the owner who showed us round and they provided a generous welcome basket. Communication from the cottage owner was excellent in the run up to out visit. We would absolutely recommend this cottage and will hopefully return!

Cute little cottage

  • 5 of 5

We (myself and partner, and my parents) decided to book this gem of a cottage based on feedback from the website, it was a great choice!

Following our booking, we were kept fully informed with instructions for check-in from the cottage owners Rosie and Dan.

On arrival, we were met personally by the owners and shown around the property, with instructions on how to work the central heating system, fire etc. Rosie also pointed out the way towards the centre of Lincoln via steep hill, which was a short walk (though longer on returning up the hill)from the cottage. The cottage is fully equipped for everything you could possibly need plus some! The decor and attention to detail is to a very high standard, as was the lovely welcome basket which was very much appreciated. The bedrooms, both very roomy and comfortable.we did leave a lamp on during the night in the dining area, just in case any of our party needed to visit the bathroom throughout the night. There are many good restaurants within a short walk, so unfortunately did not use much of the kitchen, apart from making hot drinks and warming our mulled wine after nippy days after our shopping. There is a welcome information pack with maps, info about the local area, though this was not our first trip to Lincoln, it was still nice to look through. Parking is available on a first come, first served basis, but once we had arrived and unpacked our car didn’t move until our return home. We were lucky enough to watch the torch procession for the local Hospice from our front window one evening and also met one of the neighbours who was most pleasant. We would love to stay here again, but have already decided this will be in summer to take advantage of the surrounding area and to also make use of the lovely little garden to the back of the cottage. A great stay has by all, thank you Dan and Rosie, keep up the good work!

Beautiful, well equipped & clean house in ideal location, everything you need for perfect stay!

  • 5 of 5

Clearly well loved & cared for house, Rosie & Dan met us on arrival & showed us around, leaving a lovely welcome pack (far more than token tea & biscuits & also items like dishwasher tablets, handwash, kitchen foil, cling film, shower gel, washing powder, cleaning products, umbrella & a torch also left for guest use) & telling us how things worked & about local attractions. House was beautiful, warm, immaculately clean & well equipped, with castle, cathedral & many great pubs & restaurants within an easy walk of 10 minutes or so. Having a real fire was great, something we very much miss in our newish home, & just added to the coziness of the place. The beds & bedding were very comfortable & the blinds kept the rooms dark very well. Although there is no designated parking, a nearby space was always easy to find, especially if you are returning from a day out after 4 (but if you are just staying in Lincoln, there really is no need for your car to move throughout your stay). 100% recommend, thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful house, Sam, Louise & Laura, xx
