We are Steve & Rosemary Cuthbertson, and we live in a little place called Auckley, right next door to the airport at Doncaster which is extremely handy for flights to Paphos! Steve is originally from Sheffield and Rosemary grew up in Eastbourne. We are both educators, Steve is a self employed trainer, travelling the country instructing all manner of folk in 1st aid, Fire Safety, Health & Safety, Food Safety, etc! Rosemary is a primary school teacher here in Doncaster and is also a teacher/ governor for the school. We have 2 grown up sons who have left home and are currently living in London. We are both rapidly approaching our "golden Years" and intend to retire to Pissouri and live in Jasmine Villa!
Steve & Rosemary Cuthbertson purchased this villa in 2008
We first came to Pissouri in 1997 for a family holiday with our sons, who were quite young at that time. We stayed in the bay area and had such a wonderful time that we have been coming back ever since! Over the years we have introduced all our extended family to Pissouri and they all love it as much as we do, Steve's brother loved it so much that he was the one who first purchased Jasmine Villa in 2007, subsequently selling it to us last year. We have stayed both in the village and in the bay area over the years and like them both but feel it's easier to drive down to the beach during the day and walk into the village at night rather than the other way around. We find the Cypriot people kind and welcoming and wherever we go we have always thought that we get very good value for our money. Pissouri is a lovely family resort, with enough activities to interest all the family and a variety of bars and eating establishments to suit every taste and pocket, there is also a variety of shops and one big supermarket selling everything that you will need or desire for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
Steve's brother David was the first person to see Jasmine Villa some 10 years ago He has always like property and was considering moving in Cyprus, and in particular settling in Pissouri. Whilst he was on holiday one year he saw an advertisement stating that Jasmine Villa was for sale, he liked the look of it and arranged a viewing, The elderly lady who was selling the villa had, along with her husband, originally bought the land and designed the villa and paid a local artisan to build it their exact specifications, Now she was widowed and wanted to return to UK, so after much soul searching, David bought it - in his own words "It was just too good to miss". He fell in love with the space inside and the lovely Cathedral ceilings which help to keep the villa cool. Over the past few years David updated the outside of the villa, laying new stone paving slabs in the patio areas, relining the pool and opening up the garden areas. After a family discussion around 3 years ago David stated that he probably wouldn't come to live in Cyprus after all but was loathe to sell the property as he wanted it to stay in the family, as we have always intended to retire here and were in a position to buy it from David last year we made the offer and the rest as they say is history! We are committed to keep improving and adding to the villa all the time so if you are a returning guest you may be (pleasantly) surprised at the changes made during your next visit!
Great Villa in a superb location, less than 10 minute stroll into Pissouri village centre. Well appointed villa with everything you would need for a lovely holiday. Very friendly and helpful owners, I would highly recommend this Villa and hope to return soon.
Jasmine Villa is perfectly situated just outside of the village but only a 7 minute, flat walk into the village centre with it's unspoilt square where the old folk still meet in the evening to play backgammon, talk and drink coffee. There are plenty of tavernas, restaurants, bars & 2 banks (with ATM). Little shops and churches abound in this village. The square is pedestrian only and safe for children, this is not a centre for karaoke and disco's but a resort for relaxation and quality family time. There is a golf course at Secret Valley (10kms) and the shingle and sand beach of Pissouri bay, which has it's own shops and tavernas is a few minutes drive away. For the historians, the roman ruins and amphitheatre at Curium and Paphos' "Tomb of the Kings" are about half an hour by car.
