Perfect family getaway
This house was perfect for our family getaway. There were 13adults, 4 kids and 2dogs that all went and the location and size of house was perfect, the kids thought they were in a castle. Plenty room and great facilities and the wood burning fire was amazing. Amazing memories and looking forward to returning next year.
Groot vakantiehuis , prachtige ligging
Top week gehad
Großzügiges, sauberes und gut ausgestattetes Haus. Fragen wurden jeweils schnell beantwortet...
Newtonmore is located just a mile from the A9, which is a direct route to Inverness. The village is nestled between the Cairngorm and Monadhliath Mountains and has plenty of places to eat, as well as shops and attractions.
The village is home to Clan Macpherson and is only a short drive from Ardverikie Estate where Monarch of the Glen was filmed. It is here that you will find Loch Laggan, which is home to the largest freshwater beach in Britain.
For those looking for a little fun when staying at the house, take part in the Wildcat Experience, which is located around the village. Discover the 100 or so models of the Wildcat that can be found hidden around Newtonmore, the more you find the more likely you are to win a prize. If you would like to see a real wildcat, head to the nearby Highland Wildlife Park, where you can also see the UK's only Polar Bears.
Other notable places to visit in the village include the Clan Macpherson Museum, which looks back over the life of the Jacobite's, and the Highland Folk Museum, which lets visitors see how Highlanders have lived over the past few centuries.
A little further away from Biallid are some beautiful houses and castles that are well worth visiting, these include Ballindalloch Castle, which has the only Lady Laird in Scotland, Cawdor Castle and Blair Castle. There are also plenty of whiskey distilleries, which can be discovered by following the Speyside Whiskey Trail.
Newtonmore is within easy reach of many other Highland towns and villages, such as Kingussie, Aviemore and For William.
