Comfortable, Cozy and great value for money

  • 5 of 5

Made to feel very welcome. Chloe was really helpful, and enthusiastic to make our stay very enjoyable. Very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. A lovely touch and most welcome were the bread, milk and bottle of wine. Our labrador enjoyed the enclosed garden and the fuss and attention made of him. Highly recommended!!! We will be back. Thank you.

Great weekend in a superb location to explore the Peak District

  • 4 of 5

Lovely accommodation in the heart of a very pleasant village. The owner Chloe was very helpful, showed us around the cottage, and left some treats for our dog. Great to have a log burner with plenty of wood for a couple of nights stay. Kitchen well stocked and in line with what you would expect to find. Great to have a tiled entrance to the property for cleaning down before entering the carpeted main area of the house, especially if you have a dog. Stone steps leading to the property can become a bit slippy when wet. Shower was a little low on power but did the job. Would definitely re-book if we visit the Peak District again.

Great find! Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Would heartily recommend staying at Stanley Barn in Tideswell. We have just had a long weekend break here and loved it. The location of the barn in the centre of the village, with the benefit of off road parking is great - only a couple of minutes walk to the Co-op, or one of the three local pubs, as well as other amenities (pharmacy, tea shops, post office, restaurants to name a few!), and a fabulous walk across the fields and up onto the Monsal Trail. We got a great welcome from Chloe along with instructions as to where everything was and how it all worked. Lots of lovely touches such as a welcome pack of wine, chocolate, doggie treats and a few other essentials, and the organic toiletries were especially welcome (what were they called Chloe and where can you buy them?). For me, arriving on the Friday afternoon, chilled to the core after a walk in Dovedale, to an already warm barn was just fabulous. A wonderful retreat and we'll definitely return. Thank you x

Fantastic place!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely short break at the barn. It's in a great village, perfect for exploring all the area has to offer. The barn itself is comfortable and well equipped - the addition of logs for the fire, organic toiletries and a generous welcome pack was very thoughtful. Chloe was a perfect host - warm, welcoming and full of tips! Thank you for a great stay.

Amazing break

  • 5 of 5

Property was clean and supplied with everything we needed, it was warm and comfortable. Chloe has clearly put a lot of love and care into providing a comfortable experience. The additional effort to make our choccy lab feel welcome was not unnoticed. Would visit again! Thank you so much for making us feel welcome!

The charming cottage was more than we hoped for, it was very clean and had everything we needed.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is located in a great place for visiting places around the area. We had a really lovely time even though we weren't blessed weather wise. We found Chloe the owner very helpful and her mum was there to greet us and show us around. The area is amazing and some lovely dog friendly pubs in walking distance, we especially like the Anchor which was 10 minutes away by foot. People were very friendly. Definitely going to go back in the summer. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly village in a place where theres lots to do.

TIDESWELL IS CENTRAL IN THE PEAK DISTRICT, a popular base for accessing all areas of the National Park.

As well as being home to abundant wildlife, plants and birds, the Peak offers a variety of activities including walking, cycling, climbing, horse riding, sight-seeing, gliding of all types, bird-watching, pot-holing, abseiling and much more.

You can walk from the barn door into the limestone dales around the village, and the many gritstone edges and moors are only 10 to 15 minutes’ drive.

Between May-September the local villages have their well-dressing wakes week festivities. There are processions, craft fairs, torchlight parades, brass bands, Morris dancing and a variety of fun runs and other games.

A 10 minute drive to the old Millers Dale Railway Station will connect you with the Monsal walking and cycling trail where you can hire electric bicycles and explore the entire 8.5 mile length of the trail from Wye Dale near Buxton to Coombs Viaduct at Bakewell, following the beautiful valley of the River Wye through some of the Peak District's most spectacular limestone dales.

Tideswell really is a wonderful place to take a well-deserved relaxing break and to explore the Peak District.
