Fabulous cottage really clean and tidy

  • 5 of 5

Lovely quiet cottage in a lovely friendly village. The owner Chloe was really welcoming and gave us some good tips about the local eateries! Our little Yorkie made himself very much at home! Would definitely return in the future and highly recommend to anyone planning a trip to the Peak District.

Quiet, comfortable, cozy in a lovely village

  • 5 of 5

The beds were extremely comfy and the kids loved the "shelf" as they named the little attic space. The kitchen was well equipped and we even made use of the wood-burner one evening after a damp walk. Tideswell is quite a large village, but the barn is on a back road so perfectly quiet, apart from the charming church bells tolling the time. There is excellent takeaway pizza and amazing local bakery - we will definitely be back!

Immaculate holiday cottage in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

On opening the door to the barn we were instantly amazed. The place was so clean and tidy, immaculate. There was a bottle of wine and two glasses waiting on the coffee table and even a nice comfy bed on the floor for our dog. It has a great layout which feels large and roomy. There is a decent size very well equipped kitchen for cooking meals, although with lots of places in the village that offer great food too so we didn’t do this very often 

The barn is very warm and cosy throughout with towel rails to give lovely warm towels for after your shower.

There’s great off road parking which is easy to get in and out of; often this tends to be a struggle with some cottages in villages but not this one.

Finally Chloe and Matt were very warm, friendly and welcoming. Great down to earth people who made our stay even more fantastic.

Will definitely be back to this property and would highly recommend it! Perfect rental in a perfect location!

One of the best

  • 5 of 5

We regularly go away for short breaks around various self-catering accommodation in the UK, and this one ranks as one of the best. It's not just the fact that the furnishings and general comfort of the property are high, but also that the owner provide the "little things" that make it a real home-from-home. The property is in a perfect location for a holiday in the Peak District and we'd have no hesitation in recommending it to our friends and family.

Comfortable, Cozy and great value for money

  • 5 of 5

Made to feel very welcome. Chloe was really helpful, and enthusiastic to make our stay very enjoyable. Very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. A lovely touch and most welcome were the bread, milk and bottle of wine. Our labrador enjoyed the enclosed garden and the fuss and attention made of him. Highly recommended!!! We will be back. Thank you.

Great weekend in a superb location to explore the Peak District

  • 4 of 5

Lovely accommodation in the heart of a very pleasant village. The owner Chloe was very helpful, showed us around the cottage, and left some treats for our dog. Great to have a log burner with plenty of wood for a couple of nights stay. Kitchen well stocked and in line with what you would expect to find. Great to have a tiled entrance to the property for cleaning down before entering the carpeted main area of the house, especially if you have a dog. Stone steps leading to the property can become a bit slippy when wet. Shower was a little low on power but did the job. Would definitely re-book if we visit the Peak District again.

TIDESWELL IS CENTRAL IN THE PEAK DISTRICT, a popular base for accessing all areas of the National Park.

As well as being home to abundant wildlife, plants and birds, the Peak offers a variety of activities including walking, cycling, climbing, horse riding, sight-seeing, gliding of all types, bird-watching, pot-holing, abseiling and much more.

You can walk from the barn door into the limestone dales around the village, and the many gritstone edges and moors are only 10 to 15 minutes’ drive.

Between May-September the local villages have their well-dressing wakes week festivities. There are processions, craft fairs, torchlight parades, brass bands, Morris dancing and a variety of fun runs and other games.

A 10 minute drive to the old Millers Dale Railway Station will connect you with the Monsal walking and cycling trail where you can hire electric bicycles and explore the entire 8.5 mile length of the trail from Wye Dale near Buxton to Coombs Viaduct at Bakewell, following the beautiful valley of the River Wye through some of the Peak District's most spectacular limestone dales.

Tideswell really is a wonderful place to take a well-deserved relaxing break and to explore the Peak District.
