About the property

Check in is 4.00pm on arrival date and check out is by 10.00am on the morning of departure. Change over days are Fridays for weekly bookings. At certain times of the year we also offer short breaks either Friday - Monday or Monday - Friday..

The apartment building is directly on the sea front opposite the Farne Islands.The coastal path is to the front of building and is a 5 minute walk to Seahouses village amenities & the harbour with boat trips to the islands. Alternatively walk North towards Bamburgh & the beach is approx.100 yards away.

* The property is non-smoking throughout, and will accept 1 dog (there is a fee of £25)

All bed linen and towels are supplied and includes electricity and heating

The apartment is light, bright & airy with beach views from the living room & garden views from bedrooms. There are 2 communal gardens - The garden to the front overlooks the Farne Islands with views to Bamburgh Castle and a tranquil back garden to sit relax and unwind.

The living room and kitchen are open plan and offers a comfortable relaxing space to literally watch the world go by from the comfort of your chair.

Bedroom 1 is a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom (bath only) Bed is a super-king size which can convert to 2 full size singles on request.

Bedroom 2 is a medium sized room with double bed.

There is also a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower with glass shower screen.

About Bob & Linda Cole

We both grew up in the North East and live here still. We have been regular visitors to Seahouses and the Northumberland area certainly for most of our adult lives. We have holidayed with our children as well as regular day trips in the summer so know these beautiful area's very well. We hope others will enjoy the benefits we love too.

We feel the property is beautifully positioned opposite the Farne Islands and looking North to Bamburgh Castle. and only a 'stones throw' from the beach. We are always rested and refreshed after a visit.

First Time in Seahouses

After a long drive up from Buckinghamshire we were greeted by a lovely apartment... and a nice bottle of wine!

Clean, pleasantly decorated and generally of a decent size and with the added bonus of a second bathroom this made for an ideal home away from home for the week. If we had a criticism the kitchen area is somewhat small but it is well equipped so it was not really an issue.

For an apartment with off street parking and so close to the centre of Seahouses (-barely 5 minutes walk) and literally opposite the beach, we found Buckets and Spades to be excellent value for money and should we return to Seahouses, it's where we'd stay!

As you say the kitchen although small does all that's needed and is well equipped and workable. Unfortunately there is no opportunity to increase it's size - small can still be beautiful as they say!! The 2nd bathroom and dimensions of rest of the apartment, along with the off street parking and proximity to the beach and the village we feel more compensates. Fab little place!

Lovely, clean apartment just minutes from the beach. Had everything we needed ( apart from a tea towel, but that's easily forgiven). It was the perfect place to stay for a few nights, and easy to find. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely stay

The property was exactly as stated online. It was very well equipped and very comfortable. A good base for visiting places of interest, also a short walk to the town for boat trips and for evening meals. We loved our stay in Seahouses, the people are so friendly and helpful. Northumberland is a beautiful county, I love it.

Buckets and Spades is a great place to stay to explore the Northumbrian Coast

A very well equipped property in a fantastic location SO close to the fabulous beach with great destinations such as Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island and Alnwick Castle and gardens. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. My bed was very comfortable and I slept really well. I rarely say either of those things. You have a view of the sea from a side window. Especially suitable for those with a dog as there is a lawned garden at the back.

First impressions

Lovely warm and cosy apartment but initially disappointed with the fact that we were not st front of building. The impression from website was that we had sea views but we took it in turns at the table to get the view! That said wonderful location for Holy Island, Amble, walking and sightseeing. We had a great holuday on our first visit to Northumbria.

Very impressed

Bucket and spades apartment in sea houses was everything and moor clean beds towels we could not fault anything thanks bob and carol this apartment was close to the town centre and even pet friendly I would recommend it to anyone even the pubs are pet friendly

Bamburgh Castle

Visit the Farne Islands by boat from Seahouses to see Grey Seals, Puffins and various other sea birds depending on the season.

There are lots of opportunities for walking in the area from a simple walk North along the beach from Seahouses to Bamburgh and a variety of coastal walks, to a much different experience of walking in the Cheviot Hills.
