About Jacqui Bellefontaine
The daughter of a Master baker, I grew up on the Kent coast. I am now a London based cookery writer who loves escaping to the Suffolk countryside. I enjoy gardening and taking long walks on the local beaches.
Jacqui Bellefontaine purchased this Cottage in 2010
Why Jacqui Bellefontaine chose Bramfield
We have been holidaying at Hill Cottages Suffolk for over 20 years, we love the slower pace of life, the relaxed atmosphere and the great local produce. When the adjoining cottages to our original cottage came on the market in recent years we decided to buy them so we could share this wonderful holiday location with others.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottages are situtated in a village just outside the Blyth valley an area of outstanding natural beauty. There offer an ideal location for exploring the Suffolk coastal area so you can explore and find your favourite bit of the Suffolk.

Beautiful old English cottage
Lovely views overlooking fields. A beautiful well maintained cottage with every comfort you would need.
Gem of a cottage
A lovely cosy cottage with tons of character. Thoughtful touches like heating left on and homemade cake. Very well equipped and just as described. Very happy to return to this cottage.
review of Bramfield
View from back of property is as described - & is lovely. Not mentioned is the fact that the cottage is situated on a busy "A" road, on a straight stretch where traffic passes very quickly & noisily.
The cottage is quite well-cared for & attractive.
We have stayed in many self-catering cottages now - this owner provided much less in terms of basic supplies. We have never been provided with just one toilet roll!
Although there is a collapsible clothes line outside, there is nothing indoors on which to dry washing in wet weather - especially difficult if you have small children - we do not!
The two single beds were very uncomfortable - either old mattresses or very cheap ones?
The outer back door proved very difficult to lock.
A lovely old Cottage
We had a lovely Weekend in number 8 The Hill. Very clean and tidy. Well equipped with everything you could need. nice old fashioned sea side towns and villages are all close by along with lots of nature reserves. Highly recommended.
Proper home from home with a twist
This property is just perfect, it's proportions are generous with superb views. I was woken after a refreshing sleep in the character full main bedroom, a large bathroom catered for all of our needs. Out onto the patio for breakfast watching frolicing horses in the distance supported by beautiful bird song. Such a magical stay in what is considered a premier village in Suffolk. The cooking facilities offer everything you need for a budding chef with dish washer to boot. The coal fire is amazing, just what you need for a romantic evening. There isn't a down side to this property I would choose to stay there again. Thank you for a delightful weekend and the cake can't forget the apple cake my favourite.
A lovely cottage
A lovely cottage and a great base to explore Suffolk. The cottage is cosy and well equipped. The garden is enclosed and perfect for dogs. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
With views over open countryside, the cottages are situated on the edge of the small village of Bramfield. An award winning pub and well stocked village shop/butchers are within a 5 to 10 minute walk. The village is close to an area of outstanding natural beauty and is a perfect location from which to explore all of the Suffolk Heritage coast. Southwold, Walberswick, Aldeburgh, Minsmere and Dunwich are all within a short drive.
