About the property

Two x 2 bedroomed cottages ideal for couples or young families. Dogs welcome.

One of two adjoining cottages available to rent. Set back from the road. Built circa 1750, these traditional timber framed cottages have been carefully renovated and fitted out to a high standard to offer comfortable accommodation whilst retaining many original features such as oak beams, wattle and daub walls and a bread oven.

8 The Hill is the slightly larger of the two and has central heating throughout. On the ground floor the living/dining room has a large open fire, perfect for cosy winter evenings. The well equipped kitchen also has a microwave, freezer and washing machine.

On the first floor there are two bedrooms. The double has views to the front and the twin bedroom view to the back both over open fields. Blackout blinds are fitted at the windows. Also on the first floor is a good size bathroom with bath and walk in shower.

At the back is a small enclosed (with a low fence) garden set out with garden and chairs where you can enjoy the fabulous view over open farmland.

9 The Hill is the slightly smaller of the two and has night storage heaters. The decor is is more traditional. On the ground floor the living/dining room has an open fire, perfect for cosy winter evenings. The small well equipped kitchen also has a microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator with ice box.

The shower room and toilet are also on the ground floor.

On the first floor there are two bedrooms with views to the front. The second bedroom which is accessed through the main bedroom has a single bed plus a pull out second bed when required both beds have sprung mattress. Blackout blinds are fitted at the windows.

At the back is a small un-enclosed garden set out with garden and chairs where you can enjoy the fabulous view over open farmland.

The village has a family and dog friendly pub which serves good food. and a good local shop where basic supplies can be bought. Both are within a short walk from the cottages.

Charming cottage in a beautiful setting

We enjoyed a relaxing week's stay in this lovely cottage. It is set in a peaceful location with stunning views over open countryside. The cottage was warm, cosy and well equipped, within easy reach of beautiful Southwold and surrounding areas.

A wonderful Christmas week "on the hill" with a roaring log fire. Just perfect.

We stayed in number 8, a well restored cottage, lovely open fire, extremely well appointed. Home from home!

A fantastic cottage to stay during the winter months but would be equally fantastic in the summer watching the setting sun from the patio.

The owners were extremely helpful and plenty of information available.

Downside, if you are 6 feet tall watch your head!!!

Overall, excellent and will be staying again.

Excellent property, excellent location

We have just returned from a mini break at the property (No. 8 The Hill). The property was absolutely great - everything you could wish for, clean and tidy. Wi-fi excellent (two teenage girls with us). Really enjoyed sitting in front of the open fire at evening. Great base for travelling all around Suffolk. We took our small dog and the contained back garden was perfect.

A lovely relaxing cottage with everything you need in a good location for visiting all the coastal areas. Clean and comfy just what you need to return to after a nice October walk. Thank you Jacqui for lending us your home. We will return.

Lovely cottage

The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. View at the back overlooking fields was lovely and front garden charming. Decor bright and in keeping with a cottage of it's age, the beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked. The welcome cake was delicious and eaten to the last crumb!

The only downside was that the cottage was on the road and not in the village centre, so some traffic noise at times, and no footpath part of the way to walk into the village so that was a pity.

Really peaceful and relaxing overall though. We hope we can make it back again for another visit.

With views over open countryside, the cottages are situated on the edge of the small village of Bramfield. An award winning pub and well stocked village shop/butchers are within a 5 to 10 minute walk. The village is close to an area of outstanding natural beauty and is a perfect location from which to explore all of the Suffolk Heritage coast. Southwold, Walberswick, Aldeburgh, Minsmere and Dunwich are all within a short drive.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is usually Friday (especially during the peak summer weeks), however we are flexible and regularly have changeovers on other days. We encourage people to contact us to see what we can do to meet their requirements.

Prices quoted are generally for full week. Please enquire for shorter breaks. Our pricing structure favours longer bookings - the nightly rate reduces the more nights you stay (up to 7 days).

All cancellations must be notified in writing. The owner will endeavour to re-let the cottage. If successful the client will be refunded in full, but if not all monies paid by the client shall be forfeited. We recommend cancellation insurance.

Booking Conditions
Bookings run from 3pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of departure. The client is responsible for leaving the accommodation in good order and in the same clean condition as they found it. The client undertakes to pay for any breakages or damage, requiring replacement or repair, and for any extra cleaning costs on departure.

Only those named on the reservation form may use the accommodation. Subletting or assignment is not permitted.

The owners cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage to client’s baggage or personal effects. We recommend insurance to cover this.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the property let is of the required standard, occasionally breakdowns occur. The client is requested to inform the owner should this happen, so repairs can be initiated promptly.

Wi-Fi access is provided, but serviceability cannot be guaranteed, nor can compatibility with your equipment. The property owner provide this service on the understanding that it will be used exclusively for legal activities.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
