Cabin, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Climbing Bear cabin offers its guests a combination of mountain rustic and luxury to provide amenities designed for most every desire!

This inviting 4 bedroom 3-1/2 bath cabin welcomes its visitors via a street level entrance hall opening into a great room with cathedral ceilings, beautiful stone fireplace with gas logs, lots of windows and French doors opening onto a covered porch shared by the master suite on the same level. The fully equipped kitchen and eat-in dining on the main level allow for easy entertaining. Two large, king size master suites located on separate levels and each with its own TV and full bath make Climbing Bear perfect for large families or couples traveling together. The 3rd level bedroom and bath is perfect for youngsters (or more independent adults) with twin beds and a feeling of “their own space” and the 4th bedroom with its queen size bed will please either adults or children. Downstairs you will be treated to more great views from French doors leading out to the lower deck and hot tub area. The den/game room is equipped with 3-way gaming table (poker, bumper pool and wood top for dining or puzzles) and a 55” digital TV viewing area with full size sleeper sofa. The 2nd king master suite is located on this lower level and offers a writing desk with views through large windows. The 4th bedroom is also located on this level.

Larger parties will love the option of doubling up with the Barefoot Retreat cabin, located just across the road and offering two queen bed suites with separate baths and a sleeper sofa in the living room (see VRBO #154835). Total capacity of the two cabins together is 16 persons. Contact us for more information on either of these properties.

South Florida Trip!

  • 5 of 5

It was a little difficult to find - probably our fault, but this is a beautiful cabin. The place gives you the feeling of being away from it all, yet its not too far to town. The cabin is tastefully decorated and it has everything you need and I mean everything! Without a doubt we would stay there again!

Family Trip Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

We spend a wonderful spring break with our family. The cabin was amazing!! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, close to town for shopping and going out to eat. Ingles was the best place to get groceries. We also ate at Chophouse, highly recommend eating there. We sat at the window over looking the mountains and the lake. Excellent food!! We enjoyed cooking, playing board games, cards, hiking. Hiking trails and water falls in the area was amazing! We will be planning to stay here again!!

Atlanta visitors

We spent a relaxing weekend with our three teenage/preteen children. We had a great time cooking, watching movies, making campfire s'mores and hiking. Not having cell service was a wonderful surprise! Not being connected allowed us to connect! We are already planning our next weekend away and will definely stay here again!

Sibling Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We had a week-long siblings-and-spouses reunion at Climbing Bear cabin outside of Hiawassee, GA in late October. The cabin was secluded yet close enough to town to go shopping or out to eat. It has living areas on the bottom and main levels so we had room to spread out when we wanted, or stay together for visiting or watching a movie. The view from the front deck was outstanding. The four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms were more than adequate for our group, and the kitchen was nicely supplied for making meals together. We ate out twice enjoying meals at Portofino's Italian restaurant between Hiawassee and Young Harris and Monte Alban's Mexican restaurant in Hiawassee which we loved. North Georgia has a wealth of outdoor opportunities and the cabin is well-situated to go various directions to take advantage of them. We went to Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia with a museum, gift shop, and lookout deck on top offering a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. Highly recommended. We also went to Talullah Gorge which has a variety of hiking trails to scenic overlooks and numerous waterfalls, as well as a nice museum and gift shop. Also highly recommended. There are lots of other waterfalls in the area, and we visited several. We didn't have time to see all of them that we wanted to due to rain, so they will have to wait for another trip. There are also some historic wooden covered bridges in the area, though some of them take a bit of driving to get to. The autumn leaves were turning and were beautiful. Just driving around the area was a delight. Great area, great cabin, great time.

Our family enjoyed our time at your cabin during our trip to enjoy the change of the leaves. We will be happy to reserve this cabin each year of our travels to this area.

It is a beautiful and comfortable cabin. All furnishes were very nice. There were 4 adults and one child. Enjoyed the fireplace and back porches. Everything was perfect.
