This is a warm and comfortable 2 bedroomed house sleeping 3/4. 20 minute walk to centre of Keswick with lots of walks and cycle rides straight from the door. It is just a few minutes from the old railway cycle path. Storage available for bikes. There is a spacious lounge, dining kitchen double bedroom, and bathroom. The second bedroom is very spacious as a single room and can be provided with 2 twin beds if needed.

The house is owned by Helen and John Knapp. Helen grew up in Cumbria and went to school in Keswick. We both enjoy visiting and walking in the fells.

Great value accomodation

A great find! We have been coming to the Keswick area every year for some time now but this year the cottage we normally rent was fully booked so we had to find somewhere else - and we're really glad we did! This is a really clean, comfortably furnished and well equipped house with plenty of space for our family of four (our children are 6 and 9) and it represents extremely good value for money. The house has a lovely garden, ample parking and is in a great location too, with fast and easy access to the Grasmere / Ambleside road, Borrowdale, the A66 and Keswick itself.

It was lovely to stay somewhere where we could walk into central Keswick (we had always stayed further out in the past). We thoroughly enjoyed the 20 minute walk along the railway path into town and discovered Fitz park for the first time en route. The kids enjoyed playing in the park while we enjoyed a very reasonably priced cup of coffee and cake in the cafe there.

The house was perfect for us: the kitchen had everything we needed (well, except tea towels perhaps) and the dining area was very light and spacious. There were plenty of books, DVDs, walking books and maps in the cupboard and we enjoyed poring over the big relief map on the wall in the evenings to trace where we had walked that day!

The bedrooms were a great size with plenty of storage and the beds were supremely comfortable. Our children loved the quirky sheep curtains in the bedrooms too.

Having the garage and Spar so close by was yet another plus point.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely house and we will most definitely book again.

Great little house!

We found the property very easily........set back from the main road, it felt very quiet and safe. Once inside, it was lovely.....the small kitchen was particularly well-supplied with good quality cutlery and tableware. We even had a freezer in the garage which we weren't expecting!!

We used the near-by Spar shop regularly and found the parking disc useful when we drove into Keswick......we also used it in Penrith when we visited.

We loved the back garden which we used quite a lot because we were really lucky and got gorgeous hot weather for our stay.

Although we didn't use them, there is an ample supply of dvds, books,colouring books and maps available to guests.

The bathroom looked like it had recently been re-fitted........lovely over-bath shower with good pressure and lots of instant hot water!!

We had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to recommend this holiday home to anyone who wishes to visit Keswick.....we hope to return!!

An excellent base. Clean, quiet and cosy. We would use again

The house was very good. Two bedrooms and a nice sized living room. A short walk into Keswick (15mins) makes it a great base for a Lake District break. Although on a main road the property is sat far enough back from the road to make it a quiet retreat. Great sized garden over 3 levels gives even more space and there is enough parking for 2 large and 1 smaller car. We would stay again

Happy Holiday

Just like to say we had a great holiday in this beautiful house. Everything about the house was first class, ultra clean with everything you need in the new kitchen. It's ideally situated for walking into Keswick but at the same time there is always the bus that drops off near.

Thank you again and hopefully we will make a return visit.

A home-from-home!

The house is in a great location for exploring the northern lakes and is an easy walk into Keswick to access all the local amenities, including a great little swimming pool for rainy days with children! The path to Keswick is a former railway line which can be accessed via a gate at the rear of the garden.

The house has parking at the front and a lovely sized garden at the back. We visited over Easter and my children really enjoyed their easter egg hunt in the garden and wooded area at the back. The house is lovely and cosy - perfect for relaxing after a long walk and has everything you would need. We were particularly thankful for the good internet access and also enjoyed some of the board games left by the owner. If you are new to the lakes there is an abundance of really good walking books and maps which cater for all abilities.

The house was clean and felt very homely - this was our third visit and we will probably be back!

Tip - Due to the recent floods, the main supermarket in Keswick is not yet fully operational. We ordered our shopping online before we went and had the food delivered on the day we arrived!
