Clean and well situated for travel by bus or train
The owner sent us an e mail the day before our booked stay, giving key safe and entry code access information, unfortunately we didn't get this info. On our arrival at 3pm at the property there was no one there to meet us as we expected.
I tried several times to contact HomeAway on their 0800 number only to be cut off after listening to all the options of which button I needed to press. Needless to say
I would advise that your company needs to review this procedure.
Eventually after being driven by a friend back to her house, we managed to get another number and I eventually spoke to George who was helpful.
At this point I was using a landline phone and wish to point out there is no £ sign on this phone to press after leaving a message,so this also needs attention. Please note the owner sending an e mail the day before we left France meant we didn't get it and only when we were able to add a WiFi access code did we get the info. Perhaps it should be sent sooner to ensure the client has the relevant information.
So it was late evening when we eventually got into the property. The heating was on frost protection only as it was winter time , so the property was cold on arrival which was not welcoming at all.
.The information book in the property asked us to use the extractor fan when using the shower but I think it needs attention as it is extremely noisy and considering the neighbours above we could not use it.
We were using the property as a base for visiting family and many friends via train and bus services.
Nice and comfortable.
A lovely place to stay. Aberdour is a nice and authentic village. The flat is quite big and comfortable although the 2nd bedroom is tiny, even for kids.
The sink isn't in the kitchen so it's not very handy but it's ok for a short holiday. The lock of theentrance door needs to be fixed or changed: very tricky to lock or unlock the door! The bed in the parents'room would also need to be changed since I could feel the springs, quite unpleasant.
All in all a nice comfy place to stay in although it requires a few changes.
Very nice flat....but
Was disappointed on arrival to find the dishwasher was broken as we chose the flat because it had parking and a dishwasher. There was no communication as to when it would be repaired and it wasn't.
Gorgeous, Spacious and Perfect Location
The home itself is amazingly spacious, very little noise from outside and the nearby train station doesnt affect sleep or down time in the flat. The kitchen is very large and the table and chairs allow for not only dinner together but a space to get some alone time if required. The living room has very comfy seats and a smart tv for evenings in.
The location was ideal for us with a short drive to Burntisland and Kinghorn - the parking could be difficult as we had a wheelchair but there was always a space available in the street somewhere. The pricing of the flat is very reasonable - almost too cheap in comparison to local caravan sites who wanted nearly £750 for the week!!
Absolutely loved our stay - and was quite upset to have to leave! Thanks again for allowing us to stay & we will definitely be back.
Lovely flat in a lovely place
Our family of four (two adults, two young children) really enjoyed Aberdour and the surrounding area - and this flat really was a home from home. Short walk from train station and convenient for beach, castle and the Purple Shop. Purple Shop provides essentials, but glad that we also got an online order delivered. We also topped up with the decent sized Co-op in Burntisland part-way through the week. Would definitely recommend to a friend and stay there again if we're back in the area in the future.
Peaceful and beauty really
Thank you for the recommendation. Much appreciated. - Lindsay H
