Charming large and airy studio, 42 square meters (452 square feet), large combined living/dining/bedroom with one double bed and one double sofa bed, sleeps two to four, with fully-equipped and newly renovated kitchen and washroom with new shower and bidet. Free phone, hi speed WIFI, and multichannel HD TV. Located in the heart of Vieux-Nice, and its markets, shops and restaurants through the winding pedestrian streets down to the Promenade des Anglais and pebble beach. The best baguettes, best butchers, best restaurants, rich history, art and music, all within a few minutes walk.
This studio is bright, clean and wide, with high ceilings, second floor, just 12 steps up from the street, a few minutes walk from Opera Plage and the Promenade des Anglais. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare all meals chez vous, and shops selling fresh meat, vegetables and baked goods are just outside. Not to mention the fine wine stores and cheese shops.
Nice is rich in cultural events: theaters, concerts, museums, and festivals. The studio is two minutes walk from the tram and the regional buses serving all of Nice and all inter-city destinations such as Cannes, Monaco or Italy, and the villages of Provence.
Palm trees, incredible gardens, and provençal restaurants in every direction. A short drive or bus ride to the villages in the hills. A minute or two walk from the apartment, take a bus to Monaco, Cannes or St. Paul de Vence for just 1.50 euro. The same bus will bring you back almost to the apartment door.
Gary grew up in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Marie-France comes from the Paris region, and some of her family lived in Nice. Gary and Marie-France live mostly in Montréal now, and they try to split their time between Montréal and the Nice apartment.

“I had a very enjoyable stay at the apartment in Nice. Its location was perfect as it was close to the beach and right in the middle of the Old Town section of Nice. It was so much better than the idea of a small hotel room. The use of the clothes washer, refrigerator and kitchen made the stay even better. The shower and everything in the bathroom, kitchen worked fine. With the fan, I was able to stay cool, and I didn’t use the windows. I didn’t notice the street noise at all, plus I was up early most days anyway. I would stay there again.”
Apologies for this long-overdue review: Cosy studio decorated in authentic French style. Small but had what we needed for a one-week stay: fast wi-fi, comfortable bed, futon-style couch, lots of lamps and overhead lights, extension cords with multiple outlets for all our gadgets, flat screen tv with multi-language stations. Tiny but functional bathroom with shower stall and European-style small thin towels (but plenty of them for two people). Basic furnishings, yet well-equipped, full kitchen, washer/dryer, clothes drying racks, electric fan, etc. Convenient location for sightseeing, easy walk to tram and various bus stops. Main train station is farther but very manageable to walk or 4 stops away by tram. Apartment is on a busy pedestrian shopping street, steps from a grocery, bakery, butchers, daily fish market, restaurants, etc. Not an issue for us, but typical for European apartments, there is one flight of steep steps up to the front door and then a few steps down into the apartment itself. Light sleepers will need to close the front windows at night. Owners were responsive and lovely to communicate with.
We spent a full month in this apartment and loved every minute. Best location in the city, the apartment is charming and overlooks a street filled with fragrant smells, vivid colors, shops and stores and the occasional street musicians. We had a few minor glitches with utilities, which the hosts worked hard to rectify expeditiously. They were in every way kind, helpful, and generous. We are coming back as soon as we can carve out another large block of time to get the maximum benefit from such an ideal home away from home. It actually exceeded our expectations, which were high to begin with.
I found the property to be immaculately clean, and the kitchen and laundry facilities appeared to be recently renovated. The listing description accurately depicts the apartment, and the photographs are representative of the rental's appearance and condition. I will be recommending this listing to my sister and brother as well as friends who may be looking for lodging in southern France. My dealings with the owners were pleasant, and they made helpful suggestions about tourist sites of interest in the area. I planned to hike around Nice, and the location of the apartment proved ideal for someone without an automobile because of the close proximity of bus stops (a few minutes walk from the apartment) and the railway station (about a 20 minute walk). I covered as much as 20 miles on my daily hikes, and used the buses and trains to extend my range from Antibes to the west of Nice (very cool!) to Ventimiglia, Italy in the east (I walked to that town from the bus stop in Menton, France and then back to Menton). The Cimiez district of Nice is a leisurely 45 minute walk from the apartment and and offers the chance to see Roman ruins, Matisse and Chagal art museums, wonderful parks and markets, and beautiful landscaping.
The location was absolutely spectacular... we felt like we were in the center of everything. Our visit was in January, so the weather was chilly, but the apartment was wonderfully cozy. The kitchen was terrific with plenty of storage, all the major appliances and lots of counter space. The bathroom was extremely generous in size, and the shower worked great. The bed and living areas were comfortable; it was easy to connect to the internet; and we had plenty of hanging space and drawers for our clothes. The owners couldn't have been nicer or more responsive. Nice has many fabulous restaurants, but we would heartily recommend Olivieri, where the owner specializes in Olive Oil, and pairs a different oil with each course... even the tiramisu! And we were delighted with Le Bistro du Fromager, as they incorporate cheese in everything they make. If you don't have a car and want to go to Monaco, take the bus! The ride is beautiful along the coast, and you can hop off along the way. A one-way fare is only 1 euro, which is an amazing bargain... and a great place to visit between Nice and Monaco is the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Cap-Ferrat. Amazing gardens; dramatic location; and a very well done audio tour. Wishing your stay in Nice will be as memorable as ours was! The Smiths - Tampa, FL
We stayed in this studio for 8 days in late December. It is located near the fish market in Place St. Francois. The studio is extremely well equipped and comfortable, and the location is incredibly convenient. EVERTHING you need is right outside, including cafes, restaurants, butchers, charcuterie, fromagerie, boulangeries and patisseries, creperie, poissonerie, etc. A supermarket (Monoprix) is 5 minutes' walk away. We especially appreciated the very well equipped kitchen. Cooking was such a breeze that we ate in almost every night. Be sure to try Barale (7 rue Ste Reparate) for their freshly made gnocchi and ravioli to be cooked at home. We used the Segurane bus stop frequently for bus #100, 7, 81, which was only a few minutes walk away. The tram stop is only 2 minutes away, but not really necessary, since Nice is very walkable. The listing photos are accurate, the apartment was clean and well-maintained, and the owners were very helpful in answering my questions before and after we got to Nice. We genuinely enjoyed staying in this apartment.
We stayed in the apartment for three weeks this summer (July/August). It was as fabulous as indicated in the previous reviews. The owners are some of the nicest people you'll find, they'll make your stay completely enjoyable. If you're looking cozy and quaint, look no further, when the sun is in the sky the apartment is lit by a wonderful golden light, this place has character. The intoxicating sounds and aromas of Nice, can be enjoyed by simply lounging out of either of the two windows that overlook the rue Pairoliere, this should be done while sipping a cup of coffee of course. The location is absolutely ideal, just steps out the front door you'll find a coffee shop, restaurants, a pharmacy, bakeries, a fish market, a cheese shop, a convenience store, and I could go on, and on. A few block away you'll find the Promenade Des Anglais, Place Garibaldi, and Place Massena. And, if you want to go further a field, transit is just a couple blocks away, and very inexpensive. Nice is heaven for those who enjoy eating, walking, eating, wine, eating, beaches, and oh ya, did I mention food?! Once you're in Nice, the rest of your trip does not need to be expensive, there are many restaurants, bakeries, and pastry shops that offer inexpensive, delicious fare. But, if you want to break the bank, well, there are plenty of opportunities to indulge in. Enjoy!
