My wife, 11-year-old daughter, and I stayed in this beautiful apartment in the Oltrarno for a month in September 2016. We've been staying in Florence for one month every few years. This is the best of the four apartments where we've lived! This is the first time living in the Olrarno. We love it! There are great little restaurants, shops, and Alimentari all over the Olrarno. This area is known for its artizan shops too! Piazza Santo Spirito has a great farmers market. There are not as many tourists as there are in the city center. The apartment is very close to the Specola, the Piti Pallace, the Boboli Gardens, the Brancacci Chapel, and Santo Spirito. I've been pleasantly suprised to see how Florence has been increasingly showing more contemporary art... Jan Fabre at Fort Belvedere, John Currin at the Stefano Bardini Musuem, Ai Wei Wei at the Pallazo Strozzi... Really cool to be close to everything but also a bit hidden from the pandemonium in the city center!
The apartment is lovely - the space shows a care for design and comfort. Details: Modern quality windows with mosquito screens, ceiling fans in the bedroom and in the living room (with comfortable sofa-bed). The kitchen is well suited and the owners left us a bottle of wine to welcome. The terrace-patio is a quiet little spot above the apartment with a view of the duomo and a shade umbrella. this place had everything we were looking for and more!
My 11 year old daughter and I stayed in this apartment for the month of July. This was my 8th trip to Italy and by far, the best flat I have rented. I have rented other apartments in different areas of the city, nothing has compared to this apartment. The location is perfect, 10min walk to Ponte Vecchio, 20 minutes to the train station, 3 minutes to the market. You can literally be at the Duomo in 12 minutes. There is a bus stop at the end of the street and even an internet cafe too. This neighborhood is very safe and the neighbors are friendly. Everything you need is within 10 minutes walking. If you want to feel like you are really living in Florence, then choose this apartment!!! The apartment is gorgeous, clean, and has everything you would ever need. We came in from a long flight and Cristina provided milk, cereal, coffee, cookies, and juice for us, very kind.. My favorite place to be was on the rooftop terrace; a perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee and evening meals. The view is amazing!!! Outdoor space is very limited in Florence so having a terrace was a blessing. The next time I return, I will definitely stay at this wonderful, home away from home.
We (me and my husband) have had excellent rest for five days in Florence staying in this apartment. Philippo (landlord) warmly welcomed us when we arrived into the apartment, showed it to us and gave detailed explanation. The apartment is very nice, it shifted our anticipation. It is furnished cozily and with good taste. All necessary for staying has been provided: big wardrobe with coatracks, big sofa in the living room on that we have relaxed after walks in the city watching TV. A kitchen is equipped with all needed: a fridge, an oven, cookware and tableware, tissues, tea, coffee and sugar, etc.
We had a good wi-fi connection.
It necessary to mention a terrace – wide and comfortable with a nice view on the roofs and domes of Florence. It was pleasure to have a breakfast there. The apartment is situated in the calm area; however, it is very close to the downtown. There are shops around where we could buy all needed. We found the location excellent. Philippo recommended us to visit the “Trattoria Diladdarno” just in two steps. This is the restaurant with a perfect combination of the delicious food, very friendly service and reasonable prices. We have had dinner there several times.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to Philippo and Kristine for so warm welcome, hospitality and friendliness. They were so kind to support us with calling the taxi when we left.
We recommend to everybody who wants to find nice apartment with good price and very friendly owner – book this apartment.
We will recommend it to our friends.
It was the magic vacation. Thank you, Kristina and Philippo!
Great location, close to Pitti Palace. You can go everywhere by foot easily. Location in quite part of the city, but very close to all attractions.
Bread shop just around the corner. The owner was waiting for us there to answer any question we had.
Apartment was clean ,quiet and well equipped. You probably can cook your own meals; kitchenette has got equipments for that purpose (good choice of seasoning, too) - but we've prepared only breakfasts in apartment. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom good, with some toiletries and hairdryer.
- there was sometimes a faint smell of the sewers....
- lack of electric kettle
- sometimes we had a problem to connect with wi-fi. Everyday it needed some trials to connect, but then everything worked perfect.
Remember that apartment is on the top floor while packing bags :) For us it was not a problem at all, and we loved breakfast on the nice terrace among roofs :) !
Good location, helpful owner, useful and well decorated studio. I'd recommend.
We stayed for three nights in late March and had a terrific time in Florence. The hosts were very helpful with apartment detail and suggesting restaurants in the area. The location is on one of the old narrow streets in Florence south of the river but within walking distance of all sites of interest. We would definitely come back next in Florence. One minor suggestion is to improve the bed sheets and pillows.
This is the perfect location for anyone wanting to visit Florence. It is a 15 minute walk to the train station, Duomo, Uffizi, and Florence city center. Being on the opposite side of the Arno River makes this flat quiet and cozy! The small local restaurants and wine bars in this area make you feel as if you are part of Florence, not just a tourist. The flat is a perfect size with one bedroom and a sofa couch in the living room. There's also a small patio for nice lunches outside and a fireplace if it gets cold. The property is well maintained and very clean. The owners are wonderful, very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend a stay here.
