About Tracy Halliwell
John and Tracy have worked and lived all over the world and have always enjoyed interesting places with lots of experiences to offer.
Tracy Halliwell purchased this Farmhouse in 2015
Why Tracy Halliwell chose Old Cleeve
Lowood is an old 1823 farmhouse set in 4.5 acres of well maintained garden and fields, with a river running along the fields. Both of us fell in love with this house straight away. It combines personal comfort with space. Our kids spend hours playing outside on the climbing frame, croquet, badminton, paddling in the river and so on. The wooded area houses a lot of local flora and fauna, providing much for adults and children to explore. The local environs contain everything anyone could wish for, from the most sedentary to the most active. The house itself is on the edge of Roadwater, so although we are on the edge of the village, it feels like we're in the middle of the country, a perfect balance.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The unique benefits of this property are 4 acres of garden/field, access to 200m of the Washford river to paddle in (it's only about 2 feet deep).

Great house, flexible and helpful owners
The house is great - it’s deceiptfully roomy on the inside and has some beautiful rooms. The kitchen has just been refitted and other than a few technical teething problems with the appliances is a joy - there are so many big pans and dishes it’s a positive pleasure to cook for 19.
Garden is big and has lots in to keep children entertained - after all the recent rain the steam at the end of the garden was more of a torrent than we had anticipated!
Overall it worked really well for our family reunion - we had a wonderful weekend together and are delighted we found it - thank you
Great house Great stay
Good size house and enough pots and pans
Fantastic house for a large family gathering
This was the perfect house for our family Christmas. We were 18, all adults and teenagers except for one 9 year old (and the dogs) and it was great to have two sitting rooms and a large dining room (18 did manage to squeeze around the table!). The beds were all very comfortable and there seemed to be lots of hot water and the heating was great. It snowed while we were there but we were always warm and cosy. This is not for people looking for a smart house which is why we loved it. Great character and nothing showy about it, just farmhouse charm. Plenty of parking too. Our 9 year old loved the rope swing over the river at the bottom of the garden. Tracy and John were extremely helpful before we arrived and helped with our many questions and requests patiently. The Christmas decorations were a lovely addition, thank you. Plenty of larder and fridge and freezer space and 3 washing machines but it would have been 100% perfect and 5 stars if there had been a second dishwasher! The dishwasher was fragile and found it hard to cope with 18 people eating two or 3 meals a day for 5 days. That might not have been such an issue if the sink and washing up space had been bigger. Having said that we had a very happy and memorable few days in this wonderful house and would highly recommend it.
We're just about to refurbish the kitchen (Feb/March18)...and will definitely address the sink space and dishwasher situation.
Such a beautiful and unique home, so comfortable and well equipped for a wonderful weekend away!
We had a fantastic weekend and wished that our stay had been MUCH longer!! The house was comfortable and more than enough space for everyone to be together or alone, depending on their mood. We had lovely long lunches and dinners around the dining table which comfortably seats 16 -20 and only wish we were visiting in summer so we could spend more time in the beautiful grounds! Would absolutely recommend this place for groups of families or friends.
Comfortable and well sited
Particularly liked the dining room with wood-fired stove. Kitchen well serviced and great to have 2 large sitting rooms for separating noisy children from the grown-ups. Lovely spot for walks and short drive to the coast.
Delightful house in a quiet area
17 of us stayed in this beautiful house for our annual family October Christmas and what a house for this occasion. The house is in a brilliant location which was quite and in the well kept grounds and play area there was plenty of time to have fun.
The house also includes some lovely bedrooms especially the children's jungle room. All other bedrooms are a good size and very comfortable. With good size separate dining, living and drawing rooms you would not get the claustrophobic feeling at all.
The house definitely contributed to some fantastic memories that all members of our family will take away with them and retain forever.
Thank you again
