We found the location (secluded) to be ideal = quiet. We wanted a peaceful stressfree week and we got it! Songs of birds & gentle breezes. Fresh fish from Flowers Seafood;exploring Botany Bay Preserve;cruise to Otter Island;fabulous fish tacos at McConkeys Shack;authentic gullah food from Mains Market; breakfast at Sea Cow;hours of beach combing.
Your attention to detail (in decorating and in amentities i.e. sandwich bags, Pam spray, etc). Complete package.Great.
We had a great time staying here. We had a wonderful time, and you just can't beat it for the price. I cooked breakfast one morning. The cottage had everything I needed. The distance from the beach is far enough to be out of the hassle of the beach, but it is wonderfully secluded. Also, the view of the old churches on the island on the way to the beach is beautiful. We ate at some wonderful restaurants, and enjoyed a few nights playing cards. The bed is cozy and very roomie. Our stay was a little chilly because of the weather, but I look forward to renting here again and having my morning quiet time under the big oak tree sitting at the picnic table. The tiki hut is very nice. Also there is an outside shower. My family really enjoyed this little cottage and we look forward to making a return trip. It really made our trip to Edisto wonderful.
Enjoyed a relaxing four nights. As always very peaceful and quiet. A wonderful place to refresh.
We loved the peaceful time away from normal life,,, Debbie has thought of everything to make the stay enjoyable... Our dogs loved it too.... We already booked a return visit
Cute little house in the woods with a huge fenced in yard for the dog! Perfect for a couple or one person. Very clean and had everything we needed :)
I cant say enough about how wonderful our stay was. Our only complaint was that we had to go home! If you prefer the slow quiet vacation, Edisto is the spot for you. A short 5 mile drive takes you straight to the beach front. Plenty of great restaurant options on Edisto. McConkeys Jungle Shack had a great Fish Taco for lunch. Finns has a fantastic veiw and the food was good, the service was a little off though. Our server kept going outside to smoke and smelled strongly of cigarettes. Flowers Seafood was the absolute best, and they are less than a mile away from the cottage. We got fresh seafood to cook in the cottage the first night, then came back the next day for lunch and tried the restaurant, and took even more fresh seafood home with us! Botany Bay Beach is a must see. Dare I say, it was the most beautiful beach I have ever seen up close & in person. The public beaches are clean, quiet, and not crowded at all! Great beach for shell hunting! The house is fully stocked with everything that you could need on your vacation. It is extremely clean, comfortable and downright adorable. The tiki hut is the perfect spot for coffee and breakfast or a late night glass of wine. We were even allowed to bring our 70 lb Pitbull with us, which is practically unheard of. The fenced in yard is great for dogs, Bender had a blast roaming around without his leash. Our only bit of advice: The water smells and tastes a little funny(we are city water people, after all), but if it bothers you, Debbie & Rob leave you instructions on how & where to get free bottled water from the city reserve right down the road. I'm serious folks, they really think of everything. I honestly fell in love with this prefect little cottage tucked away underneath the ancient live oaks and spanish moss. We will most certainly be returning, hopefully for a much longer stay!
This quaint little cottage has everything you need and the proximity to the beach, Charleston and surrounding areas can't be beat. We slept the best we had in years and will be returning.
