Beautiful location!

The home is secluded and comfortable. Nicely decorated and offers sufficient privacy for three couples. Highly recommend and hoping to return.

Great Views in a Romantic Setting!

  • 5 of 5

This house was great. We same numerous mule deer in the woods around the house. It is so quiet and peaceful. You have a great view from the deck and hot tub. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are nice. The drive to the house in beautiful no matter which direction you come in. The house and surrounding was clean and had everything you would need to prepare meals and stay comfortably. It was a quick easy drive to Royal Gorge and Colorado Springs. We had good food in Woodland Park and took the cog rail up to Pike's Peak. It was great to have such a nice place to come back to relax after a full day. The gas fireplace provided lots of heat during the cool nights. It was just two of us but there would be plenty of room for 6 to stay comfortably. The only downside was the internet was a little on the slow side, but you don't go to the mountains to surf the internet! Overall a wonderful place to get away and unplug!

Owner's Response: Wow, we are so thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at this property! This home is one of our most popular vacation rentals for good reasons! Thank you for the feedback on the wifi. In this rural location, high speed internet can be a challenge. We will be switching to a new provider soon, so hopefully that will speed it up. While our guests do travel to the mountains to get away from the technology, we are also aware of the need to check in with family and, occasionally, work, so we are working on providing a more reliable option.

Fantastic House and View - Very Secluded

  • 4 of 5

The house was beautiful. The living room was fantastic and huge, and the fireplace gorgeous. TV room is separate and a bit small, but that's not why you rent this house, but it would be perfect for kids (if you can trust them to be by themselves - haha). The bedrooms were very large and the beds were extremely comfortable. Some of our guests weren't a huge fan of the memory foam mattresses, but most of us loved them. It's a matter of opinion, but you should know that all three beds have them. The kitchen was also a good size and can accommodate a few chefs at once, which turned out to be a double edged sword for our crew... but that's on us! ;)

The view, spectacular. There were two blinds closed on the main windows (too high to reach), but enough drawn to get a great view despite all the snow we got. The deck is also really nice spanning the entire front of the house for a more intimate view of the mountains. We took full advantage of the massive and amazing hot-tub, but we must admit to being a little disappointed it wasn't ready when we arrived. They had just cleaned-refilled it so it needed a good 6 hours to heat up. I do appreciate the effort to make sure it was clean, but we couldn't use it until day 2.

My only issues with our stay were that we ran out of propane for the grill (the backup tank was also empty) and we had ZERO internet connection for most of our stay. When we did have it it was PAINFULLY slow. That wasn't a huge issue for us, but if you rely on it for entertainment/TV - you might want to make other plans. These aren't deal breakers by any means, but the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars...

Another warning to anyone considering renting this house is to have the proper vehicle. A 4wd truck is highly recommended, and snow tires during the winter is a must. We got snowed in even with a big SUV because we couldn't get up the first hill. It's a 4 mile dirt road to the home (which is AWESOME), but it is a bit treacherous with snow. Some of it is steep and it's a very long walk to civilization.

The property managers were also excellent and returned our messages very promptly, but we did have some issues with the phones. It would ring on occasion and when we picked it up, we could hear a neighbor's conversation...weird! The number they gave us on the sheet also wasn't correct, but we figured it out. Cell service was spotty at the house, but we managed to make calls.

I would definitely stay there again!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a detailed review letting us know what you loved about the property, as well as some of the minor issues. In this rural location, high speed internet can be a challenge. We will be switching to a new provider that will be more reliable and faster. I would like to apologize for the empty propane tank, and the delay on the hot tub. When a guest checks out in the morning and we have guests checking in on the same afternoon (as was the case for you all), if the hot tub is so dirty that it needs to be drained and refilled, it is sometimes not quite hot at check in time. While we try to do everything we can to keep this from happening, I sincerely apologize that it happened to you all! We would love to extend a 10% discount off of any future stay with us. When can we expect you back? :) Thank you for the comment about the 4 wheel drive- it is a must during snow season!

Amazing get away

  • 5 of 5

We had a most enjoyable stay at the property for Spring Break. The house was cozy and perfect for family time. Hiking on the property was truly scenic and beautiful. It was very easy to drive into town, even when the weather was snowy. Lots of wildlife --- deer, hawks, blue birds and squirrels. Our experience was fantastic and left us wishing for more time.

A couple of notes to renters, the internet worked, but needed to be rebooted every day. We bought a couple of pans because the ones in the house were a bit outdated. Some of the lights were not working outside (the management company was very quick to come out and fix). These were very small issues that were totally overshadowed by the wonderful house, breathtaking scenery, and overall comfort and relaxation afforded by this great property.

We would highly recommend staying at this lovely home. Spacious and cozy at the same time.

Owner's Response: We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the Sangre de Cristo View cabin! Thank you for the comment about the wifi. As you may see from other reviews, this has been an issue that we are attempting to remedy! The fabulous seclusion that this home affords, also creates slow internet! We are in the process of switching providers in hopes that it will be more reliable. We hope to have you back one day!

This is an AMAZING home and property!!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time at this property!! So peaceful and so beautiful. We walked all over the place. You just can't put into words the beauty that you will see. I took tons of pictures but they don't even begin to show how wonderful it is. The house was awesome and really spacious. The only thing is the wifi wouldn't work but not a big issue. We can't wait to go back this summer!! I highly recommend renting this cabin. The views are amazing and the over all experience is wonderful!!

Even better than we expected!

  • 5 of 5

While the pictures are great, this house was even better than we expected. We pulled up and were in awe, ran around the house on the wrap around porch and just stood in amazement of the view. It was a group of six of us who visited, and we absolutely loved the house and the property, we can't wait to come back! The house was a little more secluded than we expected, so make sure to bring everything you need! The wifi is a little slow, and there's barely any cell service- which we didn't really care about, just something to note. The hot tub was perfect, and the beds were even better than mine at home. The upstairs room does get a little warm, but opening the windows takes care of that with no problem!

Owner's Response: What a pleasure to hear that this property once again exceeded expectations! We have recently upgraded the wifi to a new carrier and should see increased speeds. We look forward to hosting your group again in the future!
