About Sandy Lander

My husband and I grew up in the Brainerd Lakes area and lived in a couple of different places in the state for 22 years. In 1997 we were able to move back and enjoy once again living in our hometown. We purchased the cabin in 2004 from Tim's folks, as we live next door to the property. We proceeded to remodel it to our liking and then decided we needed to rent it out and share the beauty of our property and area with others during the summer and fall months. We have really enjoyed getting to meet various people and have made some new friends from this experience. We would love to meet you as well! -Sandy and Tim

What makes this cabin unique

The unique benefits of our property is that it is situated between 2 lakes and you have access and views to both of them. Also the privacy and peace and quiet is hard to find elsewhere unless you are situated in a really remote area. We are within 10 miles to fun little towns like Nisswa, Crosslake and Pequot Lakes.

Beautiful cottage, outstanding views!! Highly recommend!! Sandy and Tim have thought of everything have done an outstanding job with their Pine Cone Cottage. A perfect get-away for any one looking for peace and quiet, nature, fishing, antique shopping and REST. Bald Eagles!! There are beautiful Bald Eagles and we were fortunate enough to see their babies as well!! We have been traveling to Minnesota every summer for several years now and this has been, by far, our favorite!!

Happy Place

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is cozy, with great lake views from each window. We spent our time going for walks, sitting around the fire, and listening for the loons. The owners are right next door if you need anything and are wonderful people--great place!

The prefect lake getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Sandy and Tim were the best host! Took us out on the pontoon, let us barrow fishing rods, provided yummy lemonade, the cabin was stocked perfectly and even the bananas had a little basket to sit in! We had friends come over during the day and there was so much to do. From the paddle boat to fishing off the dock. So many great memories! Highly recommend! Best place to stay to get away and relax! We hope to come back and make more memories! thank you!

Home Run

  • 5 of 5

Just completed a week at the Pine Cone cottage which proved to be a home run in terms of everything we were looking for..........privacy, quietness, abundance of fish, quality/clean cottage, gracious hosts, high speed internet, etc. The best testament to this rental is that fact that, before we left, we booked a week for next year. Sandy And Tim are superb!!!

Exactly what we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I chose the Pine Cone Cottage for our 15th Anniversary get away. We could not have picked a better place. The cottage is super clean and cozy. The fishing was great. Having high speed internet and all the tv channels you could ask for was a very nice bonus for the rainy time. Five stars is not enough to show how great this amazing stay was. Tim and Sandy are the most AMAZING and friendly hosts. We plan on seeing them again in the future. Thank you both for everything and all the EXTRA help and making us feel at home and like we were friends and not just renters. You two are GREAT!

Exceeded Expectations - Great Value and So Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent the past week here at Pine Cone Cottage and are very sad to have to leave tomorrow morning. This cabin is incredible, and a great value. Perfect location, clean, bright and airy interior, super comfortable bed and sitting areas, a well appointed kitchen, and a beautiful lake (great fishing!!) with multiple boating opportunities. Sandy and Tim are so gracious and have thought of everything you might need to have a great vacation here. Waking in the mornings to the call of the loons and to the wind rustling thousands of leaves on the surrounding trees was so soothing. I'm an early riser and was shocked to wake up after 9:00 a.m. on three different mornings. We'd reserved the fishing boat and took it out for an hour or two just about every day catching about 70 fish total including bass, crappies, a northern and lots of panfish (including a few gorgeous pumpkin seeds). Our week here was in one word AMAZING. We are going home refreshed, recharged and already counting down the months until we return for 2 weeks next summer!
