About Sandy Lander

My husband and I grew up in the Brainerd Lakes area and lived in a couple of different places in the state for 22 years. In 1997 we were able to move back and enjoy once again living in our hometown. We purchased the cabin in 2004 from Tim's folks, as we live next door to the property. We proceeded to remodel it to our liking and then decided we needed to rent it out and share the beauty of our property and area with others during the summer and fall months. We have really enjoyed getting to meet various people and have made some new friends from this experience. We would love to meet you as well! -Sandy and Tim

What makes this cabin unique

The unique benefits of our property is that it is situated between 2 lakes and you have access and views to both of them. Also the privacy and peace and quiet is hard to find elsewhere unless you are situated in a really remote area. We are within 10 miles to fun little towns like Nisswa, Crosslake and Pequot Lakes.

Exactly what we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I chose the Pine Cone Cottage for our 15th Anniversary get away. We could not have picked a better place. The cottage is super clean and cozy. The fishing was great. Having high speed internet and all the tv channels you could ask for was a very nice bonus for the rainy time. Five stars is not enough to show how great this amazing stay was. Tim and Sandy are the most AMAZING and friendly hosts. We plan on seeing them again in the future. Thank you both for everything and all the EXTRA help and making us feel at home and like we were friends and not just renters. You two are GREAT!

Exceeded Expectations - Great Value and So Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent the past week here at Pine Cone Cottage and are very sad to have to leave tomorrow morning. This cabin is incredible, and a great value. Perfect location, clean, bright and airy interior, super comfortable bed and sitting areas, a well appointed kitchen, and a beautiful lake (great fishing!!) with multiple boating opportunities. Sandy and Tim are so gracious and have thought of everything you might need to have a great vacation here. Waking in the mornings to the call of the loons and to the wind rustling thousands of leaves on the surrounding trees was so soothing. I'm an early riser and was shocked to wake up after 9:00 a.m. on three different mornings. We'd reserved the fishing boat and took it out for an hour or two just about every day catching about 70 fish total including bass, crappies, a northern and lots of panfish (including a few gorgeous pumpkin seeds). Our week here was in one word AMAZING. We are going home refreshed, recharged and already counting down the months until we return for 2 weeks next summer!

Coming Home

  • 5 of 5

I love coming home to this cabin. We have stayed at Pinecone Cottage for 2 years now and have our 3rd booked already. When Sandy met us at the door to let us in, all I could say was "now I am home." My husband and I had a wonderful time fishing on the lake. It was so quiet and peaceful. Thank you,Tim and Sandy for a terrific place to relax and unwind.

Just as promised!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was spotless and very well appointed. The pictures do not do it justice. Very peaceful and quiet with the only sounds coming from the resident loons and swans. Super gracious hosts. Close to Nisswa / Brainerd / Baxter but far enough to get away from the traffic. We can't wait to re-visit! Thanks again!

Great vacation place for all!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cottage on Markee Lake and had a wonderful time! The cottage was spotless, very comfortable and well-maintained. We enjoyed beautiful views of the lake, canoeing, picturesque sunsets and wildlife seen in their own habitat. We saw a muskrat, fish off the dock, loons, a bald eagle and 2 trumpeter swans. We will definitely go back!

Ideal Lake gateway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent a wonderful week at this cozy cottage! We have a 4 yr old daughter, she didn't want to leave. The cottage had everything we needed and was just perfect for the 3 of us. Sandy and Tim were accessible, which was handy for directions to the beach! Fishing, boating, grilling, Campfire, the nature surrounding the cottage, a sandy beach near by with ideal swimming for little ones... The whole trip was perfect. I would highly recommend for that ideal cabin getaway!
