This quaint, detached, holiday cottage was built circa 1737 in a quiet lane in the heart of the conservation area of St. Margaret’s at Cliffe. Ideally situated for many walking trails, cycling and horse riding on the beautiful historic Kent coastline, stables are nearby in the village. The Cottage has an enclosed, private, courtyard garden and off road parking with additional parking a short walk away. A local store, post office, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance. St. Margaret’s Bay is only ½ mile away with traditional tea rooms, a local pub, snack kiosk and areas to stroll and swim at the local beach. Enjoy nice walks to the South Foreland Lighthouse, which is open to the public and has a delightful tea room in 1950’s style, not to be missed on your visit to the area.St. Margaret’s at Cliffe is a charming village between Dover and Deal, well known as this was once home of the ‘James Bond’ author, Ian Fleming. The bus stop in the village is nearby, taking you to Canterbury, Deal and Dover where you could explore Dover Castle and the secret war tunnels or even take a day trip to France. The lovely Georgian town of Deal is only 5 minutes away by car. There is a local indoor pool nearby. Fishing available nearby. Beach ½ mile. Shop and restaurant 200 yards, pub 100 yards.
This property was well maintained and decorated with lots of home comforts. The courtyard is private and a lovely area to sit in as it catches all the sun. Can't say anything negative about the cottage, the only thing to mention is that parking at the side is very tight unless you have a small car. Overall, a lovely cottage in lovely surroundings.
