This recently converted, 2014, Farm building has a modern, architect design with an abundance of natural light opening up to a large patio area at the rear of the property. Paddle stairs access the open plan glass balcony bedroom (see photos). It is set amongst a small collection are converted farm buildings ( non working farm) and benefits from a quiet room rural location whilst being less than 10 minutes drive from the centre of Kendal with its numerous shops, pubs and restaurants. Visit the Brewery Arts Centre one of the leading arts centres in the UK, presenting an all year round program of exciting and diverse, top quality events, performances and exhibitions in all art forms.

The property is surrounded by picturesque countryside making for a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. There are beautiful circular footpath walks from the front door with excellent panoramic views, whilst for the more energetic the challenge of the Lake District with its many wonderful attractions are within a short drive including the Beatrice Potter exhibition aquarium of the lakes and cruises on Lake Windermere. Leaflets are provided in the property giving details of over 40 activities in the area. A pub with restaurant is situated at the end of the road within easy walking distance ( approx. half a mile) should visitors wish to avoid cooking.

Facilities include a modern well equipped kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer available. The open plan lounge area boasts a TV with free Wi a selection of DVDs.

There is secure garaged parking for one vehicle (height limit 7ft/2.1 metres) with ample space for bike storage. NB PADDLE STAIRS (NB not suitable for children or those with limited mobility, please check photo) lead up to open plan glass balcony bedroom with one double and one single bed size bedding and towels are provided.

Short breaks are possible. A small welcome pack is left for each guest to help your day begin well.

Beautiful,cosy well equipped little hide away.

What a fabulous little hide away!! We stayed at Orchard Nook for a long weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The place is small but very well thought out, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We wanted peace and quiet which we got but kendal was only minutes away and had everything. We can't wait to return, thanks Howard and Jenifer for a fabulous stay.

Very helpful owners who popped by on our first day to offer advise on the local area.

Easy access to the property, key safe so we could arrive and settle in. Easy parking in a garage.

Property is exactly what it looks like online- a snug, cosy, comfortable place to stay. Well equipped in the kitchen as well as plenty of DVDs to watch (a good mix of films).

Nice bathroom, kitchen and living facilities.

Very impressed all round. Would definitely recommend it to a friend and we would love to come again

Clean and well presented accommodation

Pros: Light filled accommodation with beautiful scenery, viewable from the lounge and bedroom velux windows. A bonus was being able to sit outside with a cuppa and soak up the countryside. Also having a DVD collection to hand with quite recently issued films was a thoughtful touch.

Cons: The paddle stairs, whilst a novelty, took a bit of getting used to and aren't the easiest medium to climb whilst carrying anything. The biggest 'gripes' for us, though small, were that an oven glove wasn't supplied, which surprised me, especially after reading a previous reviewers comments. Also, we needed to boil water for shaving and washing up as the tap water wasn't very hot.

However, all in all, a very pleasant setting for a couple, with close access to Kendal and southern lakes.

A lovely property in a nice location, great views from the large windows. A great break away for two with lots of little extras. DVD collection and cake on arrival. Would definitely recommend a stay here. 🙂

everything at the property you would expect and quality as well.

Maybe a second hand rail on stairs?

property benifits from great views inc Morecome Bay some management of the grounds could open up and further improve the stunning location when in the chill out areas.
