Jacaranda is part of a new seafront complex in the village of Karavomylos, approximately 2km outside the small port of Sami. Set amid pretty gardens and with a shared swimming pool, the complex is only 10 metres from a quiet beach lined with eucalyptus trees and wonderful views of Ithaca. Within the village, a mini-market, bakery and several traditional tavernas are all within easy walking distance, and a 20 min walk along the beach takes you to the town of Sami with its many restaurants, supermarkets, butchers, bakeries, pharmacy and ATM . A car is not necessary and taxis are readily available but it is well worth exploring the stunning island of Kefalonia and Karavomylos is in a good central position to reach all areas easily. Organised tours of the island, car and bike hire can be arranged from Sami and it is possible to catch the ferry to various locations including Ithaca, the Greek mainland and Italy.
The apartment offers 2 bedrooms, one with large 3/4 size twin beds, one with a double bed and plenty of storage space. In the lounge area the sofa opens into a double bed for 2 more guests if required. There is a television and DVD player in the lounge and free Wi-fi for guests to use. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering holidays with hob, oven, toaster, crockery, utensils, fridge freezer, coffee machine, washing machine and iron to make your stay comfortable. A cot and high chair are also provided. Outside there are french doors opening onto a patio with a dining area seating six and a small gated garden. There are also sun beds and a barbecue for guests to use if they wish. Towels, beach towels and linen are all provided.
Hi Marianne, we just wanted to thank you both for a lovely stay in your apartment - we had a super holiday. Your directions from the airport were spot on which we very much needed in the end as the sat nav wouldn't load. Mark was great and between him and the info sheet you provided we had lots of recommendations in terms of days out and restaurants. The Bakery was fantastic!
The apartment was perfect (even though we only got to see it briefly) however the management looked after us effortlessly. Nothing was to much trouble for Mark, can't thank him enough.
The area around the apartment has everything you need. The local Taverna was idyllic, beach and views amazing, lovely evening strolls into Sami, a two Lakes, a cute little bakery. Only 20 minute drive to the stunning antisamos beach and an hour or so to all the other parts of the island. Such a brilliant base to explore as we had a car yet you so much close by if you don't.
We had such a wonderful holiday and will be coming back!!!
A well equipped apartment. Very helpful host, all information provided. Not directly on the sea front, tucked amongst other apartments in the complex.
Our stay was enjoyable but be aware that if you have a young family the apartments are not sound proof from those staying above.
The wet room/shower is a slip hazard for all ages.
Lovely decorated apartment on well maintain small site , the pool was great , as the sea although close was a bit awkward to get into. There is a nice little beach with loungers a short walk away.
It was hard work walking a 100 meters to the taverna! It also had a fab view of the sea and Ithaca opposite.Again very close to the apartment is the local bakery which has a patio overlooking the bay . It serves a fabulous continental breakfast with good coffee, as well as beautiful greek pies and cakes.
Antisamos beach is beautiful and just outside Sami about a 10 minute drive. This beach is popular with the locals and gets busy in peak holiday time but it has great facilities.
We took a tour to Ithaca all arranged by Mark who looks after the apartments. The ferry port is just a 20 minute walk away. We hired a boat for a day from Agia Effiimia which is a pretty small harbour just 10 minutes away by car. A tour to Myrtos beach, Assos and Fiskardo are worth exploring.
We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely return to this green Island , we will however take a pair of beach shoes so that we can get in and out of the pebbly beaches more elegantly next time!
We arrived at the property and was shown around by the property manager Mark who was very informative .The property itself was very good ,clean and well set out ,2 beds 1bath and the all needed airconditioning .The communal pool was a welcome sight when we needed to go in it to cool down after our days out .We used the apartment as a base and did our breakfast there in the morning before going out for the day .We
ate out most evenings apart from 2 when we did a bbq .
We would recommend the apartment to anyone looking to stay in Karavamylos which is a lovely place .We ate a lot in Sami at the Faros restaurant on the harbourside and found the food to be very good and the staff were very efficient and polite .
All in all we had a great time in a well equipped apartment which is a credit to the owner Marianne. If we decide to return again we would definitely rebook again .
We had such a relaxing holiday at this pretty apartment in this beautiful part of the island. It was close to everything we wanted to visit and hiring a boat to explore Captain Correlli's beach was a real treat not to be missed. I would fully recommend the fabulous bakery on the main road, great ice- creams, just hard to choose a flavour! The apartment itself had everything we needed for self-catering and was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Marianne was very helpful with any enquiries we had and we don't often go back to the same place but we will definitely be back!
Kefalonia is a stunningly beautiful island and was voted 4th most idyllic place to live in the world by Forbes. Rugged, mountainous and green, it is the largest of the Ionian group. Its scenery is dramatic with the fir covered Mount Aenos reaching 1626 meters and it has lots of beautiful bays and inlets enjoying both white pebble beaches with crystal clear water and long sandy beaches. Its interior is equally beautiful with sheltered valleys of olive groves and vineyards. Kefalonia is a great island for walking, cycling or horse riding and has a good road network for exploring the island.
The beaches on this side of the island are excellent for swimming and snorkeling and plenty of pretty, quiet coves can be found all along the coastline. It is well worth hiring a boat from Agia Efimia to discover the beaches that can only be reached by sea or exploring the coastline by kayak. An organised beach with sun beds and parasols is only a 10 min walk away and you can also use the pool and cafe/bar at the beachside campsite. A football pitch, tennis and basketball courts and a children's playground are also only a few minutes walk away. The beautiful Antisamos beach is only a short distance away by car with its cafes and water sports whilst the attractions of the Drogarati caves and Melissani lake are both nearby. The stunning sunsets at Myrtos beach are also only a short drive away.
