Hi, we're Emma, Paige and Craig. We enjoy sharing our love of Stowe with guests from around the world and hope to meet you soon!
Paige purchased this apartment in 1998
We moved to Stowe from Boston full-time in 1998 because we fell in love with all that Stowe has to offer - the swimming, hiking, biking, skiing (xc, alpine and backcountry), snowboarding, riding, golfing and tennis as well as the active arts and music community. We were attracted to the more back-to-basics, healthy, environmental lifestyle and were pleasantly surprised by the true sense of community in Stowe. It is a real town with a tradition of hospitality, strong community spirit and a wealth of educational, cultural and social opportunities - with all of the attractions and benefits of a tourist town. It is the best of both worlds. Year round there is so much to do from all of the traditional winter sports to maple sugaring, the farmer's markets, Music in the Trapp Meadow, hiking and festival season (Stowe hosts various art, music, car, wine and hot air balloon festivals every summer), 3 of the world's best spas, natural attractions like Mount Mansfield, Bingham Falls, the Green River Reservoir, and the Lamoille River, and of course, several premier golf courses.
We spend much of the summer swimming in our pond, overlooking the mountains, playing on the pond's beach or walking the property and enjoying our several periennial gardens. On the property there is also a small, screened-in pond house and dock which is a great place to rest and have a glass of wine while watching the fish jump. You can also row out to Emma's island in the middle of the pond. There is also a tennis court and private sitting area by blueberry bushes for fresh picking during the summer months. Our property is close to the village center (2 miles) yet feels like you are in a private countryside. We are a short drive to the mountain and enjoy skiing or snowboarding early each morning during the winter.
Paige added an air bed to accommodate an extra guest! Highly recommended!
Loved the property and the place. It is cosy and warm and perfect couples getaway spot.
We went for fall colors and we are glad to have found this place. It is minutes drive from village center and driving distance to all other tourist spots like Gondola ride, Smugglers notch ,Trap family lodge .
Mr Paige was nice to provide us the list of best spots to hit since we stayed for only 2 nights and wanted to cover a lot :)
Paige and Craig's "Hundred Acre Wood" carriage house is a perfect place for a couple or small family! Bright, cozy and warm, with lovely furnishings, the apartment has beautiful views and is convenient to town and the slopes. Paige and Craig were wonderful to deal with in all respects. We'll certainly be back!
What a perfect place to live if your not at home! I stayed at Craig and Paige's apartment for over three months, mainly during the week but sometimes with the family over the weekends. It is warm in the winter and cool in the summer, has a separate bedroom, perfect size galley kitchen and a great couch for naps! Stowe is a great place for skiing, hiking and cycling, and the apartment is just minutes away from everything.
I had the privilege of residing at Paige and Craig's for the summer months of 2014.
My stay was 'nothing short of amazing', and that in all aspects of the word.
The apartment itself is nestled in the green mountains of Vermont, on a lush property with gardens and a swimming pond, surrounded by breathtaking views of mountains. It is the perfect spot for a sophisticated and elegant quintessential Vermont experience; it is beautifully decorated with the wholesome charm and character of a NewEngland inn and it possesses all the amenities one would possibly need. The location is simply perfect, being just up the road from Stowe's downtown core and minutes away from beautiful biking and running trails as well as the Rec Path. Nearby, there are Vermont style red barns with cows and sheep grazing, which provide a very bucolic atmosphere… Luxury in the heart of the wilderness and quite the opposite of the toxic city life!
I spent long hours on the breezeway studying alongside their amazing dogs, Julia and Pepe…which was blissful even when the weather was rainy and dreary.
Pepe's instant slobbery smile cannot help you but fall in love with him. And Julia is simply adorable and oh so lovable..I cannot help but think of them with hugs, sweetness and fond summer memories.
It was an outmost pleasure to spend my summer at Paige and Craig's and I couldn't help but be happy as a clam. All in all, this place is a gem in the green mountain of Vermont and is ideal for those seeking an ultimate getaway amidst Stowe's simmering stillness and nature.
I personally guarantee that will you will not regret your accommodations choice! It was ideal, and warmly home to me.
Stowe is a winter wonderland and this rental was a perfect winter getaway. The owners are helpful with restaurant recommendations, activities and even provided a map for hiking. The accomidations are clean, tastefully decorating and in a beautiful setting. I liked having a kitchen and it is much more room than a small condo or hotel room.
