During the time-frame you want to be on the Property, it will not be uncommon to wake to witness the Clouds being in the Valley below, as the Sun rises, the Clouds will rise +/-9:00A.M. the Clouds will embrace You and Your Husband at the Terraces....

There are walking Trails on the Property which leads to Small Waterfalls. At the Base of the Mountain on Highlands Road, make left an go through theNational Forest, incredible Large Waterfalls to look from Roadside, Gem Shops, and Mining available along the way.

Otherwise, the Smoky Mountain Railroa in Silva (20 Min. Away), The Blue Parkway, Cherokee Indian Village & Harrah's Casino (30Min. Away), while, White Water Rafting, Fishing, Hiking, Antiquing, Gem Mining, Golf, etc., etc. (15Min.)

Scaly Mountain located between Sky Valley Georgia and Highlands North Carolina (+/-30Min. from the Property), The Scaly Mountain Outdoor Center is the place to enjoy both summer and winter fun. Trout Fishing in NC, ice skating, summer and snow Tubing in NC, and they have a Bungee Trampoline.

The cabin was great and we had an amazing stretch of weather, not a drop of rain. Also it was a perfect location for us as we could go in different directions each day on the bikes.

Our new favorite!

My family and I just got back from a 3 night stay at Above the Clouds. We have stayed in several rental homes before but this is by far our favorite. It was so clean, well stocked and maintained, spacious, and the view is absolutely incredible! We are already talking about when we can return.

Just what we were looking for.

I looked at a hundred properties on VRBO before selecting Above the Clouds. To me the most important review is the one that says "I would stay here again" and I can definitely say that for this property. Communication with the owner was quick, informative and businesslike. He provides lots of information and rules for guests (which I appreciate). The house had everything we needed and all the switches and devices are labeled so we could figure out where all the lights were, etc. There is a local contact to make sure you are settled in and assist with any issues. Even in a July heatwave we could sit out on the deck and enjoy the view comfortably. The elevation and surrounding trees keep the 3 decks cool. Of course, there are no trees behind the house to block the amazing view! Pet friendly, but very clean.

Beautiful home in awesome surroundings. Super comfortable and felt at home from the moment we walked in the door. The views were breathtaking and very hard to leave. We will definitely be returning!

Beautiful views above the clouds!

This is our second stay at this awesome home. Tons of room with the feel of home. Hot tub is a plus after long days of hiking! I give this home a FIVE STAR rating and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Franklin area.

Not a better place to enjoy the mountains

Great place to stay. We have eight bikers that come up once a year to ride and we really enjoy the view. The cabin is very roomy and is well kept. We will be back next year.
