This immaculate workers cottage is a stone's throw from the heart of Ludlow.
This simple Victorian workers cottage has been carefully transformed into a beautiful little holiday house. The interior is completely new and its two bedrooms can accommodate 2 or 3 guests. There is a beautiful garden to the rear.
99 Old Street is located centrally and just a few minutes walk to the town centre, on one of Ludlow’s premier streets. It is just a stroll away from Ludlow’s historic church, pubs and castle, where shopping and dining amongst Ludlow’s medieval lanes is plentiful. We are also ideally located for walkers, with the beautiful River Teme and Whitcliffe Common just a couple of minutes walk away. With its 52 acres and outstanding views over the castle, the common is a great place to view Ludlow from, and to stop and think.

A very nice property to stay in with two bedrooms. The downstairs was excellent as well
The property was well situated with the town centre a few minutes walk up the road. There were plenty of pubs locally offering a wide range of food and drinks. There was also plenty of places to take our dog. Overall a very well appointed property well worth the money we paid for it.
Functional, but no character and no internet access and little phone reception
This cottage is fairly well appointed, with everything one would expect in a self-catering cottage. However, the lounge/dining area is very small with no space to put your own things, leaving us feeling as though we were camping all week, stepping around bags. The kitchen is light and bright, but also very small - and no washing machine. There are no pictures on the walls upstairs and only a few on shelves in the lounge - it is all very bland and lacking character. It was also incredibly frustrating that there is no WiFi and no internet access on either of our phone networks. We were told this was because it's not possible to get a phone line to the property, but my phone picked up neighbours' WiFi and my friend got WiFi access just up the road (only way I could access the internet). There was also practically no tourist information provided in the cottage and being Christmas, nowhere was open to get it. I don't think there is an excuse for the lack of WiFi in an area that clearly does have it, particularly when so many mobile networks don't work, so you can't just pick up internet on 4G. We also couldn't get phone reception in the cottage - necessitating standing in the cold to make phone calls.
Thank you Robyn. Internet access was clearly of utmost importance to you on this holiday so I am surprised that you didn't have that as one of your criteria when choosing your property. The EE network was also down over Christmas and new year much to yours and the whole of Ludlow's frustration. However, I've taken on board your frustration and am happy to say that the cottage can now offer WIFI free of charge.
The cottage is an old Victorian workers cottage, and as such is very cosy. That is part of its charm, I feel, and why we chose a dishwasher over a washing machine in the kitchen.
Extremely cosy, right in the heart of Ludlow
We had such a great time at 99 Old Street. Gorgeous little terraced house only minutes walk from the heart of Ludlow. Great walking and places to eat close by. Our little pooch had a lovely time too!
In the buzz of Ludlow
Compact, tidy and very clean. A well equipt kitchen, fresh smart decor throughout.
This old cottage has been updated to a good standard and still retains character.
Wood burner was a little gem, and there weren't too many ornaments or nicnacs!
No Wifi is a bit of a pain, and parking can be awkward, much of the free parking is restricted to 2 hrs, so worth asking for a permit when you book. Great to be close to Ludlow centre, such a superb town, We would choose to use no. 99 again, and I'm sure we shall do so quite soon.
Cosy, clean and comfortable
We had a lovely relaxing time in Ludlow. The property was near to the town centre and had everything in it that we needed. Plenty of places to eat and drink. We particularly like the Rose and Crown and also the Blue Boar. Within easy reach of the rail station. We would stop again.
99 Old Street is a beautifully modernised cottage just a short walk from Ludlow town centre. Ludlow is a quaint historical town with interesting shops, places to eat and good walking countryside around. A visit Hereford to see Mappa Mundi is recommended.
