Very grand house in a beautiful setting!
The pool is a real winner, but it is deep, so not for the faint-hearted like me! Lots of beautiful antiques and quirky items with inspired works of art everywhere. Decor "Laura Ashley in her hey-day" with kelim rugs to add a more contemporary twist. Extremely well-equipped with everything we needed. Beautiful views all round and amazing grounds!
We’re delighted that you and your family enjoyed your time with us. Thank you so much and we hope to see you again soon. Sophie
A beautiful, spacious and comfortable family home set in lovely country side.
Our family of 8 adults and 4 children all had a very enjoyable weekend at Plush Manor. The family loved the house and were very interested in the decor and the paintings and books. The children loved the statues of wooden animals and the toys were also much appreciated. The swimming pool was a huge hit given the weather was not brilliant. And my husband spent much of the weekend playing the piano -so everyone was happy. And the warmth and cosiness was great. Paul and Monika, the couple who look after the house, were very friendly and helpful. One can see it is very much a loved family home and it was a great place to spend a special family occasion. Much talk of returning again.
Perfect for a family weekend.
This house was the perfect place for a family get together (a birthday).
The house itself is as described - lovely and spacious, and surrounded
by a beautiful garden. Other notable things about our weekend was the
indoor swimming pool which was a great hit with young and old, and the
"Brace of Pheasants" pub (3-4 minutes walk) where we dined (very well)
on two of the evenings. We also appreciated the help and kindness of
Paul and Monica who look after the house and gardens.
We are so delighted that you had a wonderful time in Plush Manor. Happy birthday, thank you so much for staying with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Dorset again soon!
Stunning, peaceful, beautiful and very special.
We stayed for a week. A party of 12 to celebrate a 70th birthday. Ages varied from 13 - 75.
Every member of the group had an amazing time. The house was perfect. The drive through beautiful Dorset countryside gives you an idea of the treat that is in store. The house is situated in a stunning, peaceful part of rural Dorset, with great walks, a good pub and unspoilt views on the doorstep.
The house itself was perfect. Big enough that the group was not on top of one another, yet cozy and several great areas for everyone to get together. We all had breakfast together in the kitchen, and spent many an evening in the dining room sat around the large table playing games. No light pollution makes for great star gazing in the evening.
A large patio and BBQ sheltered/covered area was great to cook on and enjoy the evening sun.
The grounds are great to explore, croquet on the lawn, tennis court, the pool etc.. The kids loved to explore and hide whilst the parents found a sun trap to while away the afternoon.
The many bedrooms are comfortable, quiet and everything you could wish for is provided.
The owners offered great communications and we were met on arrival to talk us through things.
I really cannot recommend Plush Manor enough. The house contains so much art, interesting features, history and architecture that you can easily spend a day just wandering around looking at things. Sitting in the snug, with the fire and flicking through a book was a true pleasure. It felt like a privileged to be able to enter this world for a week. We spent the week saying things like 'this would be perfect for Christmas, or another family gathering'. We would definitely return and look forward to it.
I would recommend looking at the website for Plush as this gives more details and shows the House in its true majesty ( plushmanor.com ).
There are many things to do near by; Kimmeridge, Cerne Abbas, the coastal path, but it is difficult to drag yourself away from the house.
We loved it. Had a great week and cannot recommend the House enough. The other comments in the visitors book also reflected this view.
