Excellent lodge and location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lodge during October half term. It is not huge, but is adequate for 2 adults and 2 children and has all facilities you would typically need. The location is excellent, just a few yards from the footpath leading down to the beach and not too far to walk to the shops in St Agnes. Also easy to get back onto the A30 when you want to travel further afield.

If we were picky, the bed was a bit soft for our liking, although perfectly comfortable. We also would have liked a proper roasting tray in the kitchen, which was otherwise excellently kitted out. Also, as an Eco lodge we found it odd that we were not able to recycle, with all refuse going into the same bin.

There have been a couple of comments about the driveway. It's a bit of an art reversing down it but not really that difficult and during our stay there were always spaces at the bottom of the driveway if you preferred (we didn't). I wouldn't let the driveway put you off booking what is a lovely lodge in a great location. Thank you to Simon for a nice holiday!

Owner's Response: Hi Mark. Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review and we appreciate your comments. That's for drawing our attention to the baking tray. We did originally supply one but it's probably gone missing over the last year or so, so we'll get that replaced. We do recycle and some guests leave recyclable waste out separately but we agree that it would be better if we provided separate recycling bins and so we will contact the council and ask them to provide us with the appropriate facilities. We are glad you had a nice stay.

Great lodge, great location!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay here! It was perfectly functional and was easily big enough for 4 adults. Great facilities and great location (so peaceful and quiet!).

If I was being fussy, I would have loved a mirror in the smaller bedroom!

Nicely done but compact

  • 4 of 5

The lodge is nicely done and in a great location for the beach and village. The lodge itself has been done to a high spec and is well equipped with everything except kitchen equipment. A few more mugs, glasses etc would have been helpful. The lodge is compact but we'll set out.

St Agnes is amazing. Can't recommend that highly enough. Enjoy!

Really nice property, set in woodland with lovely views over St Agnes

  • 4 of 5

The lodge was perfect for our small family - a short walk from the shops in Churchtown and close to the beach. The property itself is modern and clean with everything you would need for your holiday stay.

About Simon Craze

As of 2015 I have lived in the village of St Agnes for 38 years and grew up here. It's a great community and I love living here. I live adjacent to Chy Cos and manage the two lodges (Chy Cos and Chy Mena) we build in the grounds of the family's property at Trevalsa.

Simon Craze purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Simon Craze chose Saint Agnes

The lodge is south facing, and has great views across the valley. There is parking in the driveway adjacent to the property.

I know St Agnes really well and feel this is a great location to explore the village. It's in an ideal position, located centrally between the beach at the bottom of the valley and the main village at the top. The Taphouse Bar, No 4 Restaurant, Peterville Inn and Chinese Restaurant are just a couple of minutes walk away.

Trevaunance Cove (10 mins walk) is a great surfing beach and local instructors are available if required. It's lifeguarded during the summer season. There are also local kayaking tours and coasteering trips available locally. If you're interested in any of these let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.
