The property was in a good position. Everything you need is available.

Owner answered all questions promptly & refunded deposit quickly.

Please be careful of the drawer handles in 1st floor kitchen, they are low & very sharp, a couple of our party received nasty injuries so we kept the children out of the kitchen & dining room which has same unit. A shame we couldn't access garage bedroom. Bins also difficult to access.

                                                              Enough bathroom/toilet facilities.

Overall, we had a super family get together & really would recommend this property to anyone.

                                                              Owner's Response:

The kitchen oak cupboard handles have been replaced following your feedback.

There is no garage bedroom listed, however, there is a single bedroom via the stone walled courtyard patio garden, and the 5-lever security key was provided on the key ring.

The refuse bins have been relocated following your feedback.

I am pleased to hear your family enjoyed your short break in The Lodge, Windermere.

                                                              Could've been better

                                                              Chris M.

The property was nice; large and clean although the floor in the ground floor bedroom was the most uneven I have ever seen. Hard to walk across if u manage to get the door open. The location was good for easy access to the lake and the bars and restaurants but it did seem strange that we were not allowed to park in the large drive so instead just had to find a parking spot on the road. This was a little unusual.

The property was well set up but the downstairs bathroom was squeezed under the stairs so the bath was pretty much unusable. Also, there was one light switch with about 20 switches that were very difficult to work out. The outside space was disappointingly small.

The most disappointing thing was the landlord. She was very passive aggressive in prior communications and was quite put out that we had asked to pay extra money for a late check out. The email declining our request was unnecessarily adverarial.

As said, the place was large and nice but the overall experience was poor and I won't be returning.

                                                              Owner's Response:

The ground floor bedroom oak wood floor was not as described by the guest and the entrance door to the ground floor bedroom opens easily.

The guests were clearly informed via email and by the listing as to the exact location and where to park for free. There was no necessity to look for free parking as free parking is available at the property.

The guests saw all the images on the listing and the listing clearly states on the website that there is restricted headroom in the ground floor bathroom.

The ground floor bathroom is functional with a toilet, wash hand basin and a full length bath with a handheld shower nozzle spray.

The light switches are on the ground floor hallway wall and switch on all the downstairs lighting. It is quite simple to switch on the lights. There is not 20 light switches as incorrectly stated by the guest in her feedback.

The stone wall courtyard patio garden is clearly shown in images on the listing.

The housekeeper answered all questions that the guest asked replying to all the guest's emails in a polite courteous manner. The guest is malicious in her suggestions about the housekeeper's manner.

The guests where given one and 1/2 hours extra from the original check out time to vacate the property. The housekeeper was quite happy to accede to the guests' request for a late check out. Again, the guest is again being malicious in her accusation.

The guest contradicts herself by saying the property is small and then saying the property is "large and nice". The property includes 5 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, 1 separate dining room, 2 breakfast kitchens, 2 bathrooms, 1 separate toilet and a stone walled courtyard garden.

Her perception over her weekend was evidently connected with her family and friends and nothing to do with the property, location or the UNESCO World Heritage Lake District. It is unfair and unwarranted o blame the property due to the guest's poor experiences with her relationships with her husband, family and friends over the weekend.

Centrally located to numerous places around Windermere

                                                              Rebecca S.

The property was clean and tidy upon arrival. There was adequate room for all 10 guests to spread out, and not feel tight for space.

I would add that the cutlery cupboard could do with a really good sort out, but we eventually found everything we needed.

It would be nice if a small welcome book could be left at the property, just taxi firms, restaurant recommendations etc.

The house was centrally located to numerous places we needed to visit, Windermere, Stavely etc.

I would definitely stay with a big group again.

                                                              Owner's Response:

There is a welcome book with a metal file providing information for buses, trains and cab companies with pamphlets and literature of all visitor attractions in the Lake District National Park ENESCO World Heritage site.

A fantastic location, homely accommodation and a wonderful owner!

                                                              Rohail S.Accrington

The owner was very helpful and answered all of our queries, which is really saying something because we had a lot! She provided us with clear instructions and directions on how to reach the property and how to gain entry.

The property was clean and cosy. There were 13 of us and the place was definitely large enough to fit us in and provide for us. A few of us even got lost when walking around. The rooms were large and nicely set out. The two kitchens were filled with cutlery and appliances. The bathrooms were clean and well presented.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to all. The property was perfect for our needs, as we were a large group, and the owner was a pleasure to deal with.

                                                              Owner's Response:
