Star Cottage is a 2-bedroom (sleeps 4) riverside holiday cottage in probably the best location on the whole of the Norfolk Broads! Located in the village of Wroxham (the 'Capital of the Broads') the cottage is on the main river (not some remote backwater) and is just a stone's throw from the famous and iconic Wroxham Bridge - and has the great benefit of being on the downstream side of the bridge where all the activity takes place! Star Cottage guests can relax in the lounge or on their private patio while watching the ever-changing scenery of wildlife and boating activities taking place on the river before them.
Guests may fish directly from the cottage lawns (in season only), and many other activities such as cycling, canoeing, walking and horse-riding are available very close by - as are a range of pubs, cafes, restaurants and local shopping in Wroxham village centre, which is only a short walk away. The cottage has it’s own private parking but since Wroxham village has a railway station and excellent bus services, so you can easily holiday at Star Cottage without needing a car at all if required.
So, whether you are looking for an energetic holiday or a relaxing one, Star Cottage is the ideal location. And don’t forget that Wroxham is within easy exploring distance of the Norfolk coast, much beautiful countryside and quaint local villages – or even city-centre shopping in Norwich.
The cottage itself sleeps up to four guests in two comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin. The whole property has been progressively re-decorated to a high standard by the current owners, ready for the 2015 season.
On the ground floor the cottage has an entrance hall with storage and cloakroom, with a large open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area making-up the rest of the ground floor, with French doors leading out onto a private patio, complete with garden furniture.
Upstairs is a family bathroom including full-size bath with electric shower over. The main double bedroom has views across the river, and includes a dressing table, built-in wardrobe and room for a travel cot if required. The main bedroom also includes a television for those late-night movies!
The smaller twin bedroom also benefits from a built-in wardrobe, and linen and duvets for all beds is included, with beds made-up for your arrival.
Star Cottage may be booked for either full weeks or short breaks lasting 3 or 4 days. In either case a variety of start and end dates are available, subject to any existing bookings – if you have any non-standard requirements please get in touch and we will try very hard to accommodate your needs.
Well-behaved pets are welcome at Star Cottage, and please note that electricity is INCLUDED in the price – no nasty extra bills!. Towels (2 per guest) are provided, and broadband Wi-Fi is available

Small but lovely cottage in great location
Despite continuous rain this cottage right on the broads was great. Good location close to all local amenities. Would love to have stayed in good weather and sat outside watching boats go by. Only negative was shower curtain arrangement which made it difficult to have a shower without soaking bathroom. A minor point though.
Super location and scenic with resident swans looking for titbits, lovely despite foul weather
Jeremy the owner was very helpful with instructions and directions to star cottage.
Though the cottage has its quirks.. ie shower curtain is hung in such a way that it’s impossible to shower without flooding the floor due to it being attached to the sloping ceiling ! I’m 6ft but someone taller would have a sore head until being used to the low roof in in the cottage. Also very awkward to stand up in bath as ones head hits the sloplng ceiling too!!
The loo kept refilling after flushing and one had to keep pressing the button to seal the valve and shut off the water .....
Beds super comfy!
And cottage Cosy and quickly warms up !
The small fire didn’t seem to work at all and might need attention..
Overall a lovely stay for me and my daughter and wroxham is a quiet and picturesque village with adequate shops and pubs nearby, so a good spot but has a few niggles.
Very best regards
Lovely cottage, picturesque location
Well appointed cottage, clean and tidy.
Really enjoyed our stay.
The pub (the shed) is an acquired taste, dirty and the beer looks and tastes like the river water but the area is very picturesque.
