|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
FishTales cottage is located in a private family oriented waterfront colony on saltwater Lewis Pond. 2 bedrooms plus a sleeping loft sleep 6! Canoe or kayak from our private dock to Parkers River and Seagull Beach on the Nantucket Sound. Or, if you prefer, it's a 1/2 mile stroll to the beach and less than a mile to shops, restaurants and recreation sites. The cottage features cathedral ceilings with 4 ceiling fans, original knotty pine walls and hardwood floors, and two gas fireplaces for your enjoyment. There is room for quiet adult time in the main area or on the patio while the kids watch TV or play games in the sunroom. Crushed seashells in the new landscaping, a hammock and a fire pit enhance the peaceful relaxing outdoor areas. There is a tennis court on site, as well as a basketball court and playground. A kitchen fully stocked for your cooking needs, gas grill on the patio and washer/dryer in the cottage will help to make your stay stress free!
Newly Renovated!: We have installed all new Andersen windows, insulated and added baseboard heat in the bedrooms to complement the gas fireplaces. Ceiling fans have been installed in both bedrooms and the common living areas. New landscaping includes native plantings and crushed seashells. There is a double hammock in the backyard for lazy afternoons. We have also added a firepit for your evening enjoyment.
Perhaps the nicest rental we have ever had. The care the owners take in the upkeep of the cottage and trouble they go to before you arrive ensures a wonderful stay. The place is gleaming, very well layed out and everything is in perfect working condition. Very close to all amenities yet far enough to be private. Nice walk to the beach or even just around the nice, quiet neighborhood. If you're looking for a nice affordable place that won't disappoint in the Cape, then save yourself the time and look no further.
My only complaint is that we can't make it back this year due other commitments !!!
Can't wait to return again and again.
Great job Dave and Jeanette, you're the best !!
My family and I just returned from a fantastic week at Fish Tales. It is located in a shady corner lot in a nice quaint 'old cape cod' community. The landscaping is gorgeous and inside the house it is very nice and feels bigger than it looks from the outside with its cathedral ceiling. There is a picnic table on the patio with an umbrella where we enjoyed a lobster dinner one night. There is a dock about a 2 minute walk from the house that leads to a bay where we went kayaking. Beautiful SeaGull Beach is about a 10 minute walk. The beach is perfect for families, as it has bathrooms and a snack bar. There is a ton of other fun stuff and great restaurants nearby as well.
The owners of the house are very nice and they gave us plenty of useful information prior to our stay.
The atmosphere both inside and out was relaxing and charming to look at. We couldn't believe how spacious the place felt-what a smart use of a small space! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful prior to our arrival with great fishing info and once there we found all the info one could need in a neat little binder...the best way to walk to the beach, tide charts, things to do...anytime we had a question we found the answer and then some. Both the walk to Seagull Beach and the beach itself are very scenic and gives one that sense of calmness that only the Cape has to offer. I would highly recommend a visit to Fish Tales to anyone, it is an ideal spot for a family vacation, a fishing excursion or to kick back with a group of friends...we'll be there next year!
The pictures shown here don't give justice to the wonderful craftmanship and effort that the owners have put into this cottage. The woodwork is beautiful and the many windows and ceiling fans provide great breezes and keep it cool. Owners Dave and Jeannette gave lots of useful information about places of interest, best routes to get there, their favorite eateries as well as top notch fishing and wildlife information. We certainly felt at home and welcome in this lovely Cape Cod home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
It wasn't just a rental, it was a home.
Great location, near everything, but quiet and tranquil.
Tennis, kayaking, beach, easy access to everything on the cape.
The best part is the owners' attention to every little detail.
We have been renting cabins and houses for over a decade and this was by far the best property we have ever stayed at.
We hope to be able to return very soon.
Yarmouth is centrally located and convenient to all Cape Cod has to offer. West Yarmouth, with its abundant vacation homes and cottage colonies, offers something for the whole family. West Yarmouth is home to the lovely walking trail, the Yarmouth Boardwalk, which extends through the marsh and to Swan Pond and its surrounding woods. South Sea Village is a quiet retreat off the beaten path, yet close to everything. For more information about the area and schedules of events visit the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce Web site.
