One bedroom first floor apartment, complex has heated communal pool, located in the centre of Caleta de Fuste, close to the beach, shops, restaurants, bars. Sunny south facing balcony with sunloungers, table & chairs, and BBQ, perfect for chilling out and sunbathing privately. Suitable for 2 people. As our apartment is on the first floor stairs lead up from the communal open area (see photographs). Open plan living space, bedroom and bathroom with walk in shower. Located on the outside corner of the complex, has two terraces, one overlooking inside of complex the other with views over Caleta town and the town square. Complex has well kept heated communal pool with sun terrace, well maintained grounds and gardens (please ask for photographs for more details). Reception is open between 8am and 8pm. Gate to complex is locked at all times, you have your own key during your stay. Access on arrival after 8pm has to be arranged in advance at an extra charge.

WiFi connection available from complex at no extra cost, however, the signal is not reliable inside the apartment, and some guests have recently reported issues with the service recently. There are also plenty of bars, restaurants and some shops which provide free WiFi in the town, with recent changes to UK roaming charges to supplement this we hope this will not be an issue. However, we will be looking into providing an alternative as a backup to the complex WiFi when we are there ourselves in December.

Rental cost is inclusive of cleaning, water and electric charges. An extra set of laundry is provided for 2 week stays. If your stay is less than 2 weeks, and you would like an extra set of laundry left for your use, please let us know, in this instance an extra charge of £10 is payable to cover extra costs. For discounted monthly stays, an extra set of laundry is provided for your use, please see below for more information.

An extra fee is payable is if you plan to arrive after 8pm and we have to make arrangements for a meet and greet as reception would be closed.

Normal check in time is 4pm, and check out 11am. We try to accommodate people around this where ever possible as long as there are not adjacent bookings. If you want to confirm arrival or departure at a particular time please ask before booking.

Apartment access is from the front terrace which has table and chairs, partly shaded, leads to entrance door of apartment.

Back terrace, provides private sunbathing area, sunny until late afternoon, has double doors from bedroom, table & chairs, sun loungers, charcoal BBQ.

Open plan living space. Lounge area has corner sofa, small fridge to keep drinks cool, coffee table, wall unit with 32” LED flat screen TV, DVD player and IPod docking station, dining table and chairs. Kitchen area newly refitted 2015, fridge/freezer, 2 ring electric hob, microwave combi oven (compromise which provides functionality as grill and conventional oven as well as microwave, due to limited space in kitchen), electric grill/sandwich toaster, toaster, kettle, washing machine. Iron and ironing board stored in living area wall unit.

Bedroom. 2 single beds which lift up to provide storage for suitcases, built in wardrobe, safety deposit box

Bathroom. Newly refitted in 2015, walk in shower, vanity unit and toilet

Please advise of any special requests at the time of booking, or at a minimum of 4 weeks before your arrival date. We will do our best to action these without any extra charge but will advise if this is not possible.

Weekly Rates - Apartment is cleaned at beginning of stay, towels and bed linen provided with change at end of first week for weekly rental rate stays of 2 weeks or more.

Monthly Rates - are discounted assuming guests do their own laundry. Apartment is cleaned at beginning of stay, towels and bed linen are provided, no change is provided but there are sufficient spare towels and bed linen available for the guest to wash and change themselves. If taking this option the 2nd set of linen will either be there when you arrive or dropped off at the apartment towards the end of your first week, please only leave 1 set of dirty linen when you leave. Quotes can be provided for laundry changes as an extra if required.

Since then in 2015, the kitchen and bathroom have been refitted, most of the furniture replaced and the apartment has been decorated throughout.

About Phil and Denise

We have tried to set up the apartment drawing from our own experience of what we would want there for a comfortable stay. Having stayed in Caleta many times over the last few years, we decided in November 2014 to buy our own place, and are renting out to help cover the costs. We have made many friends in Caleta and scuba dive regularly at Deep Blue located in the harbour area.

Why Phil and Denise chose Castillo Caleta de Fuste

We liked the layout and the location on the complex. The back balcony/terrace area is private and sunny, overlooks the town, also has benefit of smaller terrace at the front by the entrance door. Complex is in a central position, near to the beach, marina, shops, bars and restaurants. Caleta has a large sandy beach and marina, approximately 500 metres walk from our apartment. There is a good selection of restaurants and bars in the town, plus local supermarkets if you want to eat in. Although in a central location, the apartment is peaceful and in a quiet location in the complex. We liked the open aspect of the view from the balcony which overlooks the town square.

Compact and well-located

The apartment is well-furnished and centrally-located but still quiet. It is "compact and bijou" but perfectly comfortable for 1-2 people.

LIKES: Extremely convenient for everything, nothing is very far. Beds are comfortable. The washing machine includes short 14 minute cycles, so beach stuff is easily washed and dried, which the sunny balcony makes short work of.

NEUTRAL - I didn't use the pool (rather explore the island) but plenty did - there were still towels still being left on loungers with no-one to be seen and it filled up quickly. Pool bar looked OK.

DISLIKES: The complex layout means that you need to pull curtains or people can see straight in. Searching (in vain) for a wi-fi signal, on the balcony, I often found myself with a close view into the next apartment, so the overall privacy is not great and people coming up their staircase have a direct view onto your balcony.

The shower is a bit weak but adequate.

The wi-fi was dire. It wouldn't connect, for 3 days, even near reception. It improved slightly, but often "Connected, no internet" and the sign-in splash screen wouldn't even come up. There are some open wi-fi connections on other apartments (1 and 3) which did work (ahem) but still weak and uploading photos was a no - I had to wait until I went to bars and restaurants to get decent "Facebook speed" wi-fi. I wandered around the apartment and balconies but the signal was always very poor.

CALETA: The resort has mainly British tourists. Plenty of karaoke bars from 9:30pm and the Flower of Scotland opens to 3am. Plenty of places show sport, with cheap beer and there are plenty of restaurants. It's a great base to explore the rest of the island, being "midway". Don't park your hire car too close to the Fusion Curry restaurant, below, as the staff like to box your hire car in and I watched one back into mine (no damage). Park it further up the street.

Electric bikes are the current new trend, round the resort. The advertised "5 Euros an hour" is for a single seater which they usually "haven't got" and the popular 2 seat balloon-tyred ones are 15 Euros an hour. Very popular. Other places do the singles, round by Amuley Mar for 10-12 an hour.

The Caleta beach refurbishment is now complete, although the sand they have used is inexplicably dusty/grainy quality, compared to Corralejo which has far better sand.

Owner's Response: The front balcony which has the entrance into the apartment is less private, being open to the walkway, however, to look through the door in the day time you would have to walk onto the area, this is only a problem at night time with lights on inside, when the curtain can be drawn. The rear balcony leading from the bedroom is larger, sunny and quite private. We're sorry you had so much trouble with the Wi-Fi, hope you will stay again.

Fantastic apartment

This is a great apartment with everything you need to make it a home from home. The private terrace is a real sun trap. Very nice and quiet complex. Very central location. We would love to visit again. The owners and their managers are very helpful. I can not recommend this place highly enough.

Home from home , perfect.

Our stay at this apartment can only be summed up for us as perfect. It's location was very central but still had the feel of a quiet area. The complex has a heated pool beautiful gardens, a pool bar ,plenty free sunbeds. New reception with very pleasant staff. The apartment itself has a good position situated on 2 nd floor on a corner. 2balconys which has sun all day and are furnished with sunbeds tables chairs ect. Inside is furnished to a high standard and very comfortable,as is the beds also. Bathroom excellent. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay, including washing machine. Supermarkets close by. Beach 5 minutes walk away. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Nice walks. Bus station is a short walk where you can travel cheaply to other resorts. Would definitely recommend this apt.denise and Phil were easy and pleasant to communicate with and were only to willing to help with any queries we had.

fantastic place

This apartment is often fully booked in advance and it is no wonder,It is in a great complex in a fantastic location and has been modernized tastefully and has everything you could need.The terrace has the sun all day long,the beds,sofas etc are all comfy with plenty of space and facilities for an enjoyable stay.We did look in other apartments and not many can match this one,it must be one of the best for its location within the complex..Fantastic place to stay and hope to find an available slot so that we can return in the future...well done and thank-you to Denise and Phil

Calrta de Fueste is a amall but very nice and clean area, close to the Puerto Rosario with shopping area, such as

Rotondo, and the transport to the main town was quick with local buses, we will be back to Fuerteventura in the near future
