Little Bird - 2 bedroom home in Deal's conservation area yards from the beach

'Little Bird' is a recently refurbished Georgian 2 bedroom home in Deal's beautiful conservation area. It's just one street away from the beach and award winning High Street. We use 'Little Bird' as a place to relax. With this in mind we have made the house like home from home with feather pillows and duvets, pocket-sprung mattresses, Egyptian cotton bed linen and White Company towels, relaxing sofa, Smart TV and all basic condiments in the kitchen catered for.

The house is set over four floors, on the ground floor is a sitting room with Smart TV and wi-fi which leads into the kitchen. The courtyard is accessed from the kitchen through double doors. On the first floor there is 1 double bedroom with a king size bed which can also be made into two single beds. The second floor has a double bed and the room is open to the rafters. The lower ground floor is the dining room.

We have just fully refurbished the house in a stylish and contemporary way. Everything has been chosen with care and with comfort and practicality in mind. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided along with White Company towels and Egyptian cotton bed linen. Plus there is a washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. We stay at the house a lot and wanted it to feel like a proper home so if you want to cook a roast or bake a cake or just snuggle on the sofa and read a book it's perfect. We also have wireless wi-fi, a smart TV and Netflick's. A log-burner will be fitted this September.

The bathroom has a shower but no bath. However you can choose to either shower using the fixed head or a separate showerhose if you didn't want to get your hair wet. The shower is a good powerful one and we have provided an inflatable bath for babies.

Also for children is a travel cot, potty, high chair, baby gate for the stairs, a baby step for cleaning their teeth and reaching the sink..

As the house is set over four floors there are 3 flights of stairs that may feel a little steep for the elderly and very small children - hand rails have been fitted (though we never personally use them).

I am available to talk to by phone at any time if there are problems, whilst not based in Deal we are nearby.

Normal -CHECK IN is circa 3pm with CHECK OUT at 11am. If we have no guests coming straight in, and subject to the changeover team- these can be amended to allow a later check out time.

As this is a home we spend time in we have left basics in the house, as I hate going to self-catering accommodation and there is literally nothing. The basics are there: washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets/salt/rinse aid, washing powder, toilet roll, kitchen roll, and some basic food products such as rice, pasta, bouillon, olive oil and herbs etc.. There is also a small welcome gift for guests.

There are towels provided for guests, however please could you bring your own beach towels.

Also if something breaks or isn't working let us know so we can make sure we fix it and ensure the house is tip top for you and the next person staying.

And finally but importantly our neighbours are lovely but please respect them and try not to be noisy late at night.

Deal, and particularly the conservation area is wonderful. Lots of little streets full of beautiful buildings which have remained untouched for century's. Everything is a stone's throw away - the sea, the high street with it's amazing independent boutique shops and high street stores can be walked to in minutes. It is a happy community and everyone is happy to help visitors enjoy the town. A full guide of restaurants, coffee shops and places we like to visit in Deal and the surrounding areas such as Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Folkestone is available when you stay.

Free parking is available beyond North Street on the sea front which is three roads or a couple of minutes away, so unload at the house and then park. We find we rarely use the car when you are here as independent food stores and supermarkets are nearby. There are regular bus and train services within a 5-10 minute walk from the house.

About Emma & Rob

I totally love being by the sea and no where is quite as beautiful as Deal. My husband and I often rented cottages around the UK but they were seldom comfortable and poorly equipped. So after a lot of hard work on the house we have created a beautiful seaside holiday home for you to share with us. Both my husband and I are always contactable by phone so should you need any advice on where to eat, places to visit or where to lay a picnic blanket simply ask.

It's like home from home. Comfortable and relaxing - we spend most of our time in Deal - its wonderful. Lay in bed in the morning and listen to the seagulls, go for a morning stroll along the sea front and pier or wander round the quirky independent shops (Deal was voted high street of the year in 2014). Or simply relax in the house.

We love Little Bird!

This is our third stay at Little Bird, and it was just as comfy and welcoming as always. As well as being a lovely house (and the new coffee machine makes delicious cappuccino and latte!), it's also extremely well situated, with the beach at the top of the street and all Deal High Street's lovely shops a few mins walk away, plus lots of good restaurants and pubs very close. Hoping our fourth stay won't be too far in the future!

Perfect place for a seaside stay!

Spent a relaxing Easter weekend with the family at Little Bird. The cottage is beautifully furnished and has everything you could need, from the cupboards stocked with everyday essentials to the really comfy beds! It’s in a great location close to the beach and the town centre and although there is no parking outside we didn’t have any trouble finding somewhere close by. Communication with Emma was great. She was really accommodating when I realised I’d booked the wrong dates and provided us with lots of recommendations for places to eat (the ones we tried were all spot on!) On arrival it was also lovely to find a hot cross bun cake and some logs for the fire had been left for us. All in all we had an amazing time in Deal and Little Bird has to be one of our favourite places we’ve stayed.

A perfect seaside gem!

Spotlessly clean, contemporary, decorated to the highest standard. Ten minute walk from the station, and one minute walk from the beach and high st with many unique shops. Plenty of huge fluffy towels, huge beds, storage space and a great kitchen should you want to cook. What better to sit by the log burner and watch Netflix after a days beach walking and glorious local restaurants. A little more light in the living room would help with reading but we had a fabulous break. Thank you

Beautifully warm and cosy for a winter stay

We arrived in one of the coldest weeks we'll probably have this year and were instantly wowed by the snugness which greeted us. The central heating is amazingly efficient and incredibly easy to adjust and there is a wood burning stove which is the easiest to light that I have ever come across.

The house is brilliantly situated near the beach and in the exceptionally well-preserved conservation area. All the shops, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets you need are within a ten-minute walk and there are some superb places to eat. Emma's recommendations were spot on and she could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Communication with her was remarkably good.

Even though the house is centrally located, it is very quiet. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and the kitchen is superbly appointed. The wifi works extremely well and the smart tv gives you access to Netflix as well as all of the usual channels. We had a wonderful stay but there are a few quirky features to be aware of. This house would definitely not suit you if mobility is an issue as you have to climb quite steep stairs to reach the dining room in the basement and the bathroom and bedrooms on the upper floors. Also, there is no parking (except for dropping-off`). We were very happy to park on a street ten minutes away to avoid parking charges on the front but this might not suit everybody. One suggestion we would like to make is that it would be useful to have another light to read by in the lounge.

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
